Yes that was Colin Peake. He's still involved with the National League now I believe

Remember Bury got chucked out of the FA Cup in 2006 after beating us in a replay but doing so with an ineligible player.

Ended up being a good earner for us as we were reinstated, got Ipswich, took them to a replay and then sold Jon Walters to them for a good fee on the back of those games.

I do remember Altrincham getting a huge points deduction for fielding an ineligible player in 2006ish. As they were in the National League at the time it had nothing to do with the EFL but I do remember there being some controversy over the fact that a board member from one of their relegation rivals (I think Forest Green) was also on the Conference board that made that decision.

As it turned out they escaped relegation anyway due to Scarborough's financial difficulties.
Yes very well remembered. Alty signed James Robinson from Conference Accrington who did not get his international clearance even though he was with them quite a while. He sat on their bench but never got on the pitch but played in their reserves team. Unwittingly Alty played him not knowing and got 18 point penalty. That poisonous twat Peake made sure conf applied max penanlty as his team stayed up !

FA Cup and Leamington...oh dear. Great first goal by Darlington's number 11 though!

Saturday 12 October 2019 - Fixtures National League North

AFC Telford United vs York City
Bradford Park Avenue vs Hereford
Curzon Ashton vs Blyth Spartans
Darlington vs Boston United
Gateshead vs Gloucester City
Guiseley vs Altrincham
Kettering Town vs Spennymoor Town
Kidderminster Harriers P-P Farsley Celtic
King's Lynn Town vs Chester
Leamington vs Alfreton Town
Southport vs Brackley Town

With us on a bit of a roll at the moment it's a good chance to try and close the gap on Boston?
Interesting clash between Blyth and Curzon. Six-pointer already maybe?
With King's Lynn and Chester going head-to-head could Brackley creep into contention? With also the improving Hereford.

That’s a million dollar question, finished for end of year.
Need a safety match for certificate, but no word from club when they are moving.
Lots of fans want to see season out at Bootham Crescent and give it a good send off, personally would just like to get in done,it cost us a league team.

Wes York has joined Brackley on loan till January, glad he has gone on loan but don’t lend to rivals, very good player on his day but not that consistent, looks like more will be going out on loan with injured players back.
Green & McNulty back in squad , McGuire back in full training and Griffiths started back running.
Personally can’t wait for McGuire back only played 120 mins this season,be like getting a new signing in.

Seems odd to me. York happy to lend him to us when we must be seen as a (somewhat distant) rival. We're taking a player not able to get in the first team of that rival - lack of ambition? And our midfield is very settled - so not sure where he fits in, except for numbers as squad is paper thin... but presume he hasn't come to sit on Brackley's bench rather than York's.
York playing Telford today. I can't work out Telford. Some awful results, but when they played Brackley a few weeks back they dominated the second half in a way I haven't seen a team do to us since Kidderminster 3 or 4 years ago...

Well Alfreton away at Leamington today hopefully refreshed and recharged after a 2 week break. Need to stop the rot and pick up three points here as we have some tough fixtures upcoming.

We’ve signed Kelsey Mooney, a young striker for cover for when Liburd and Styche are away on international duty and a pretty big signing in getting Stephen Dawson, ex Bury midfielder (and captain), shame he’s not available for today. Will add great experience and quality to our midfield.

We’ve released Raheem Hanley and Simeon Maye to accommodate these signings.

Leamington 0-1 Alfreton

To say today wasnt a classic is a understatement.

In fact both teams murdered the game.

39 Fouls and a card happy ref.

An absolute spectacular strike from Bobby Johnson right out of the top drawer won it but it wasnt in keeping with the game.

Have heard that David Lynch broke his leg. Thats a huge blow. Theres a bit of the walking wounded about us at the moment. Incredibly up to 4th so cant complain.

Some interesting results today. Bradford and Blyth winning on the same day.

Clear Curzon are struggling this season. Relegation between the bottom four I think

We're out of strikers now with Lee Shaw being stretchered off today. The main man will be available again after Telford next Saturday but we'll be extremely threadbare for that fixture. Just when Telford seem to be picking up too.

Decent point for us I suppose but should have won. Didn't because of a howler from our keeper (not his first).

Not sure what to make of King's Lynn, decent going forward but not the best at the back, you can get at them. Didn't expect them to be so long ball, had heard they were a passing side.

Good result for us today against a moderate Boston side who included hoof ball Ainge in the back four who to be honest doesn't really look any slimmer. Steadily rising and edging closer into the play-off zone after our shaky start.

O'Neill had a blinding game along with Hatfield and one or two others. I hope South Shields let us have Connell after his loan spell finishes, very impressed even though he had very little to do today.

Very good game at the Walks today. Gifted King's Lynn a goal in the first minute due to a suicidal back pass to GK from star player George Glendon, which Russ failed to clear decisively. Poor first half from us, but we came out firing and went into a 2-1 lead through Grand and Asante. Should have won it from there, but Marriot scored a very good goal to make it 2-2. Pleased with that. Decent away support from us, although seen no figures yet.

Yep Connell has safe hands.

Really enjoyed the match today, we literally had 12 fit players to choose from today with Bascombe and Donawa on international duty, Hedley suspended, Thompson injured and of course the 3 longer term injured Holmes, Trotman and Atkinson.
