Didn't take too much notice last season but this season, is he just not good enough and the players are underachieving under him? Or managing a squad that isn't great anyway?

Most accurate thing that's been said about him is he's a follower not a leader.
Last season he had to work with what he had, just get the job done anyway necessary. Then we also have the fact Harry redknapp was with him at every game, in the changing room. At Walsall away I even asked Harry if it was he who was giving the team talks - he laughed at me and said 'no mate, narh, narh.'

I actually think we have a decent squad, not a promotion quality squad but not one that should be bottom 3. His tactical setup and style of football is just bonkers. His scouting of players is likewise if he wishes to play this Barcelona style tikka takka.
We have Shaughnessy - a defender who you would label 'no nonsense.' I could see after the 1st game that my 2 year old son can pass a ball better than he can. But what is Bond trying to do with him, yep, to turn him into a centre back version of Xavi.
Why get him in when it's clear he is not a guy capable of playing this way. He has got worse and worse as well, confidence gone, you saw first hand the error and penalty he gave away at Lincoln.
Goodship is another one - goals for fun in non-league, when played up front for us he now has 2 goals in 2 games. Where does Bond usually play him? yep wide midfield with some kind of remit not to particularly push forward, why, just why?
Our problems go on and on, the senior players clearly can't stand him, the rest look baffled at how they are setup and it's just a mess.

See Portsmouth are eligible to call off our game next week due to international call ups. They would be stupid to do so though the form we're in the under 18s would see us off.

They'd be fools guarenteed 3 points against us. Although if we had everyone fit we'd also be eligible to call the game off!

Rochdale tomorrow, I'm remaining optimistic, we've started scoring but would still concede at least 3 to my son's U9 team. So I'm hoping goals galore 5-3 Rochdale.

2-0 up inside 10 minutes against Shrewsbury.

This is our bench today, unbelievable really for League One (in particular Huws, Dozzell, Nolan and Edwards)... injuries are easing and we still have Freddie Sears and Will Keane to return...

Substitutes
  • 5Wilson
  • 7Edwards
  • 11Nolan
  • 12Norris
  • 23Dozzell
  • 38Georgiou
  • 44Huws

It's very early days but I think you'd be hard pressed to predict us to finish outside the top 2 or 3. Really should be looking to win the league.

Can't believe we lost that. We were much better than Burton today.

Another late goal from Burton, just like last seasons 94th minute winner and then a counter attack whilst we were going for it finishes us off.

Really harsh IMO. I was thinking taking a point would have been harsh, never mind some how losing 2-0 in the end

A point at Rotherham where we were missing a few key players. Extremely happy with that. Hopeful we can start to really kick on now!

14 goals in 6 games with Keane and Sears out injured; coupled with conceding just 4 in 6. I'll take that.

Third goal... 1.49. League one material?

Fun factor back at Ipswich Town, finally!

Rochdale spent the first 30 minutes looking on and wondering if that setup was a joke - realising it wasn't they took us apart with ease.

Playing a midfield diamond that literally had no width whatsoever they soon got it wide, had the fools in midfield chasing them and put it back in the space in the middle, it was so easy it was laughable. My 8 year old son a few minutes before the first goal said to me 'Henderson will score in a minute, they just keep leaving him on his own.'
The other issue our lack of width gave us was Humphrys and Goodship having to be the wingers when we had the ball. This might have been ok had there been any kind of running forward from the midfield - there wasn't.

2nd half was actually an improvement due to Ndukwu coming on and playing wide and pushing Goodship out, sadly though this utterly wastes Goodship. The shape was better the quality of play wasn't.
I've said it before about Bond's way of playing, if he wants to do this get some wingers - don't try and fit this lot into a system they clearly can't or won't play.

I'd be amazed if Bond isn't sacked during next week, all 3 home stands chanting for him out today.

The right result today. We have not fully clicked yet and still remain unbeaten . Another difficult game away at Coventry next. The best support for some time from Portsmouth .

Was a bit of a physical kerfuffle at the NYS today not helped by the ref. 1-1 just about the right outcome even if we did score in the 95th minute. We looked more solid without Banks and Sid did terrifically well at right back.
Very impressed with the New York Stadium, if ever we leave Prenton hope our new ground would be something like this.

5 goals against Bolton which is the norm. I predicted you to finish as Champions and with the players you have coming back , things are looking promising . Maybe this was the best thing to happen for your club. Many clubs of your size have come down , had an amazing season and progressed from there. That winning mentality can do wonders. Look at Sheffield United for example .

Our next two fixtures are Portsmouth and Fleetwood, that's two more losses. Might be able to get something against Shrewsbury or MK Dons afterwards to start our season...

Hoping Bond gets sacked this week though

Imagine not beating us when we have half a team missing.

Good point for us to get off the mark and hopefully we can kick on from here, but we desperately need another striker.

Would usually be happy to pick up a point away from home having played awfully but to throw away a 2 goal lead, retake the lead in the 92nd minute and still manage to draw feels like a loss.

Can everyone also please stop smashing Bolton? Making us look even worse for dropping points against them.

We should have won today oh well that’s 2 in a row now. There’s no doubt the best home atmosphere any of you will see this season is at Bloomfield road. Brilliant from Pompey aswell first away fans I’ve heard this season.

Definitely two points dropped away at Rochdale who themselves have dominated near all of their games bar the one against us . Yesterday was about right . They had the first half and ourselves the second . Could have easily finished 2-2.

The midfield yesterday was sloppy , giving away the ball far to frequently and the defence looked shaky . They scored from our own mistake. We have more to come and once we can perform constantly over the whole game and not just one half we will start turning these frustrating draws into wins . Thompson will be a massive miss next weekend so god knows how Larry will set up the midfield .

I know I shouldn't be surprised but deary me, Joey Barton talks bollocks.

Apparently yesterday's game (which we won 2-0), proves Sincil Bank isn't as tough place to go as some people think. Yet we've won three out of three so far this season.

I think he got a muscle tear when the pitch went from under his foot at yours. Karl Robinson suggested 4-8 weeks on Tuesday but he was having another scan the following day as the 1st one wasn't totally clear. The hints from the club since seem to suggest it might be at the lower end of that scale.

Said exactly the same about our place last season, and that worked out well for everyone!

If we had an out and out striker fit, we'd have hammered you today. James Henry was outstanding today for us and at the heart of everything going forward. When our centre back Rob Dickie runs forward with the ball, he really is a threat, I just wish he'd have a shot occasionally when just outside the box.

You had the bounce of the ball in your box especially with the Woodburn shot that came off the post that set up your 2nd goal (nicely taken once you broke though). We finally got some luck when your right back decided to play as a striker for us to score twice. Your keeper had a good game with a couple of cracking saves. Also canny bit of play moving the ball after the wall was set for your 1st goal but our defenders and keeper fell asleep missing it.

For your fans moaning about Jamie Mackie and that he should have been sent off. On the same basis, both your full backs could have gone for cynical, persistent fouling as well as your no.26. I think the Ref got the cautions right overall in this game. Plus, Liam Kelly should be ashamed of himself for his 2 pathetic theatrical attempts in less than a minute trying to get our players sent off.

Your fans were good value for atmosphere apart from the drummer. Most of the time, whilst it was clear you were chanting, all I could really hear was the drum. It was a lovely side effect of our 3rd goal shutting up the drum. And both teams' pavement dancers either side of the netting between them should be embarrassed as the netting is hardly that much of an impediment. Either support your team or bugger off.

Most people know Barton talks bollocks, and as for yesterday Fleetwood had lots of the ball but did very little with it. We on the other hand were clinical unlike our previous two away games at MK and Donny where we were wasteful.

Been a very decent start for us, would still be happy with a top 10 finish though.

Pompey called off the game next week. What a result for us. Bond goes tomorrow new manager 2 weeks with the players to sort out the spineless pricks we have as a team at the moment. Terrible decision by Pompey mind, easiest three points of the season that would be

Yeah bar the 90 seconds when we scored twice we got taught a proper lesson in how to play in league one.
Our keeper made one save of note in 90 minutes and despite them having 61% possession.

It is a shame the game at ours has been moved to Friday night , I have noticed your away support has been outstanding . I can imagine you will still bring decent numbers when we meet on the 27 th of this month.

We have our GK, Curtis and Mccrorie all called up. Would have probably played it, had Harness not been injured yesterday. No fit wingers for the game.
