Also I may have missed this but when did Bradford AFC no longer go by BPA?

Apparently the club will now be known as Bradford (Park Avenue) AFC and also they will be reverting back to the Coat of Arms badge for next season.

Blyth Spartans are delighted to announce the permanent addition of midfielder Kieran Green - who joins from Vanarama National League side Gateshead.

What are your wingers like? Oswell will do well if you can get the ball into the six yard box consistently
Sorry mate, skipped over your post.

Rebuilding job in that area, long servant Craig Mahon was out injured for large parts of last season and the other wide players weren’t good enough. Bizarrely Southport are rumoured to be interested in one of those in Liam Davies, he was actually sent back from his loan spell at Leek Town he was that poor. Ended up with central midfielders out wide for the most part.

Anyway Mahon is back fit now and we’ve signed Matty Hughes for the other side which is actually the same wide two that faced you in the cup a few years ago. There’s also a young academy graduate in Nathan Brown who has come through and looked quite useful. Only a very small lad but very tricky and extremely difficult to deal with, ended up running the length of the pitch past several defenders to score our goal of the season in April against Bromley.

Nuneaton absolutely embarassing themselves again as nobody from the club could be bothered to contact Gary Charles to tell him he was no longer manager. He found out via twitter. A horrible club with no class. Hope they are the next North Ferriby.

Big boost for Alfreton as Tom Platt has signed a new contact. He was one of the few players I feared we could lose and he was one of the few consistent performers from last season. Great news

Did well at this level on loan to Nuneaton but he was so ineffectual for us in League 2. He had no physical presence, speed, striker’s instinct or guile about him. As soon as Martin Allen arrived at the Hive he binned Nicholson.

His performance against Port Vale still gives me the shivers.

That is hitting a bad low, I thought Carlisle were bloody inept with their management side this summer, but that is a low point.............their arrogance towards it has backfired on them as it seems to be one of them final straws for some fans.

Well in probably weirdest Conf North news of the season Curzon's ground became a battlefield today over some small African country Eritrea. Ground and track area next to it was being used to host some sort've Eritrean cycle event when a load of political activists stormed in and attacked people injuring 12.

I suppose we'll have to let him put his boots on, before we start hurling abuse at him :shut:

Pretty ineffective for us when on loan in the last 10 matches or so. Got a few games, but never made much of an impact - looked decent, but hardly a 'massive statement of intent' to have signed him. In fact I'd quite forgotten about him till I saw this story.

I'm fairly confident he'll fit in nicely with us, he scored on his debut back in March for Brackley Town in their 4-1 win over Boston United.

Yeah I've been looking at a few of his appearances with you guys, he doesn't set the world alight, but i think with new surroundings at Darlo might do him the world of good. Well hopefully!

Went to Eritrea a few years back - quite nice in a 'thank god I don't have to live here' type of way. These days government has a terrible human rights record, lots of refugees etc - though quite why these disputes have reached a Curzon cycle track is a bit bizarre

Asmara is supposed to be a wonderpiece of Italian modernist architecture though.
I suppose with such a repressive government in place there will be disputes between Eritreans abroad who are pro-government and those who felt they had to flee such a regime.
What made you go to Eritrea? It can’t have been the easiest trip to arrange! I have always wanted to go and visit Ethiopia BTW.

Anybody know what the situation is with regard to the Meadows being fit for promotion?

Backpacked from Cairo to Cape Town for several months quite a few years ago now, although got a bit stuck with the Sudanese civil war. Africa is always an adventure, if not exactly easy. Ethiopia was definitely one of the more interesting places to see - although Africa is more about the experience than about sites as such, as there isn't much in the way of 'attractions'. Still like to get a week away each year somewhere interesting - so 51 weeks a wear paying the mortgage, looking after the kids, doing the food shopping etc - with often the highlight being watching Brackley Town. 1 week of doing something more exciting keeps me vaguely sane.

Nice! I have been to a few of the countries in between Cape Town and Cairo and as you said it is more about the experience than the sights. Looking to go to Ghana next year which would be my first time in Western Africa..

Realistically speaking our terrace at the west end of the ground probably won't happen until maybe under the circumstances that if we eventually get promoted? We'll be due to if I'm not mistaken to the grants available to the club at the next level?

Minimum capacity for the National league is 4000.

Not to get promoted it isn't. The 4000 capacity must be reached by March 31st of your first season in the national league. BM is good enough to be promoted. But would require further improvements should we reach the national league.

AFC Telford have signed James McQuilkin after his release by Kidderminster. Decent acquisition.
