I saw that at the time and thought the ref might disallow it as a result. To be fair he very well could have as these days keepers get that type of protection.

Hylton was lucky with the elbow he got booked for as well to be honest, clearly looked back at the player as the ball was coming in the air to line up a shot at him. Great player but he doesnt use his brain sometimes.

He also tried to claim the goal it looks like :bg: top troll is our Danny.

I didn't think the booking incident was an elbow, more of a hand-off to the face so a yellow about right but he definitely took a risk.

The goal was right in front of me, I was pretty sure he actually touched it in but it happened quite quickly it might have been in the net already. Very surprised he hasn’t tried to claim it!

Nathan Jones confirmed today that Glen Rea will need surgery on knee ligament damage suffered in a pretty innocuous challenge v Burton. Going to say that he’s probably going to be out now for at least 2-3 months.

Well thats shit, what a season he was having.

Pretty incredible he played on for about 20 minutes after it happened! Wonder if it made things worse. We will need to bring in a defensive midfield player now, cant rely on McCormack to play there week in week out.

Again tomorrow its the difficulty of getting ourselves up for a so called 'easy' game. We can't afford to drop points against struggling sides, especially as January has some tasty top of the table clauses which could see increase the gap between us and third.. We best Sunderland and Fleetwood, but need to make sure we as clinical at home against Wimbledon. If we get the first goal early then the team will settle and hopefully take control. Going to be an interesting selection dilemma with Pitman playing well at Fleetwood apparently. He only played as Hawkins wasn't fit enough to start.

I'd categorise that as a disaster for us. Weve not looked the same defensively or quickness of attack since he got injured. Really makes us tick and lose him just when we needed him the most. We're no one man team but any slim hopes of going up just went up for me.

McCormack is good but gets crocked easily and is a walking snarling suspension......bollocks that's put a real sour note to the end of a fantastic calendar year of football

I wouldnt go as far to say its a disaster. He has been great this year no doubt about that but its been 2 games since he got injured, we won one and drew the other one, dont think you can draw too many conclusions about what his absence has done so far on that basis.

At least we have the opportunity at this time of year to get someone else to come in. We will need someone else to come in though but I think that player could be found. We had Flynn Downes last year who looked decent for instance.

Having said that....tomorrow him not being there is going to be a huge loss. The Barnsley midfield absolutely dominated ours in the reverse fixture, missing our best holding player is really not ideal for this fixture in particular I feel.

Happy new year guys. Lets start 2019 with a good result down Blackpool. Luton v Barnsley will be interesting and a few of us at the top will be hoping Wimbledon get a positive result (however pompey will be on my acca as i can’t see them losing). All the best for the new year and safe travels today.

I suspect we will get turned over today by a resurgent and excellent Barnsley. They're coming to the boil and I feel we are just coming off and they may just have too much for us.

Must win for us today really to try and get back on track but injuries have killed us and our starting 11 is all over the place so don’t fancy it at all.

Total is going to be brutal.

Toney against our defense and against his former club is guaranteed goals.

We also only have 5 subs due to our injury issues.

Fortunate to be going in level here, Barnsley an excellent side and we have struggled with their strong midfield again as I think many suspected we might. Missed a glorious chance too, if Woodrow has used his left I would think it would be 1-0. Latter part of the half we have come back into it but Barnsley look a bit too strong for us at the moment.

3-0 but if it had been 6-0 it wouldn’t have been unfair couldn’t have asked for a better half

Easy win, not at our best compared to our other recent wins. But a month ago this would have been our best performance by a mile, the revival continues.

Wow that is an incredible win. With all of our injuries to win that against a play off team and to keep only our 4th clean sheet of the season.

Huge win.

I'll take that too. Fair result. Two good sides cancelled each other out.
