If Burton finish above either Birmingham & Hull to stay up, I don't think you can overestimate the job done by Nigel Clough. He belittles his players, he mentions money all the time and he's generally one of the most miserable men in the country. He's doing wonders for Burton though.

He is a miserable twat I grant you.
But if he keeps us up I couldn’t care.
Even if it means another season of struggling again.

Huge seven days coming up for us. Burton (H), Birmingham (A) and Hull (A) will go a long way towards determining our fate. All games we need to be winning if we want to give ourselves a chance.

4 points isn't terrible but I don't think it's going to be good enough in the long run. That Burton result was huge.

You really think Barnsley are going down ? Brum and S’land seem hopeless, maybe Reading or Wednesday will rescue you. The new Parrots Manager is already under the cost for his negativity. I think most are assuming Burton will go down

Always say this, but it isnt just the points, its the teams between you and the bottom. I can't see the bottom teams getting enough points between them to fully drag you back into it.

The fact it's even being discussed shows what an absolute clusterfuck of season we've had.

Had one balloon on Twitter telling Bannan he and and the other injured players were feigning it and it's all about bonus payments, Bannan put him right....our fan base is full of c***

I'm a bit nervous but still think we'll be alright, having Tom Lees back will be a big plus and it seems like a few more are getting their way back including Forestieri. Yesterday was attrotius, we haven't learnt out lesson that this current back line isn't good enough to play it out from the back. When Jos first came in he at least made us hard to beat and had us picking up clean sheets, now we can't even do that and have shipped 8 goals in the last 2 league games. Didn't expect anything away at a promotion chaser but to get hammered leaves a bad taste, two massive home games this week now against Ipswich and Bolton. Results in these two and we'll be out of this thread, lose them both and we will be right in there as the bottom 3 are surely going to string some results together soon.

We never beat Ipswich at Hillsborough.....

Yokel bastards.

Yep can't remember last time we beat them, don't think we've beat them at home since we came up 6 years ago and Dingle Mick will no doubt shithouse us.

We've won 2 of our last 17 against them and both of them were away....

last home win was under Laws in 2007, 2-0 win think MacLean and Whelan on the score sheet.

Haven't you spent very similar to us in the last few seasons? If you have a head of recruitment they have a lot to answer for.

Depends how much you've spent?

Last two seasons for us off the top of my head
Abdi 4m
Reach 3m (Not the 5m)
Rhodes 8m
Van Aken 3m
Pelupessy 500k
Pudil 1m
Fox 700k
Jones 1.3m
total 21.5m

if you want to go back to include 15/16
João 2m
Matias 1.5m
Forestieri 3m
Hooper 3m
Hunt 2m

£11.5m

circa 33m

we don't have a head of recruitment we got used by a company called Doyen (do a bit of digging) who are fucking vultures.

If it's any consolation he's shithoused us every time we've played Ipswich under him too...dont think we've beaten them while he's been their manager.

Yeah we've spent more in that case. In the last 2 years...

Neves - 15.7m
Costa - 12m
Cavaleiro - 7m
Saiss - 2.5m
Oniangue - 2m
Marshall 1.6m
Douglas - 1m
Bodvarrsson - 1m

Or as close to that as I can think anyway. Did Mendes have much involvement with any of your signings? I remember being a big fan of Matias and Joao when you signed them, but that was more because I used to work with someone who grew up with them In Portugal.

No Mendes wasn't involved unless he is with Doyen

Joao is a very good player as is Matias, it's the problem of getting the latter out on the pitch though. Joao never got a real chance under Carlos strangely.

Bolton look bad, don't have a plan B to their route one and without Madine it's pretty useless. Just rely on set pieces and a bit of quality from Ameobi it seems.
