That Sutton crowd at Barrow was for a rearranged game following a postponement a little over a fortnight prior, when lots of Sutton fans were already in or near Barrow. A long and expensive weekend trip with a few months notice let alone doing it again midweek less than 20 days later (with virtually no public transport options back home). I'm surprised anyone went

What are we laughing at here? That a lot of the conference teams aren't well supported? That's hardly a surprise or something that is laughable in my opinion. Look at the distances they are travelling as well. Sutton to Barrow in midweek? Gateshead to Guiseley in midweek? Long trips for teams that don't get many fans in the other 3.

Given you are flying high in L2 and got less than 3k home fans for your last home game, are you really in a position to mock others for low attendances?

Never a penalty, the keeper has eyes on the ball at all time and Akinde got nowhere near it.

You can literally see the ball hit Akinde's head before the keeper haymakers him. Don't know what style of goalkeeping you're watching up north but everywhere else that's completely stonewall (apart from in Huxtable's eyes unfortunately. Maybe he's from Sheffield too).

Akinde wouldn't have got to the loose ball after so wasn't in control, never a pen.

Westley deserves it anyway, cheating prick.

Am I guessing that was on a Saturday? We bumped into some of your fans in lancaster as we'd played Morecambe, had a cracking few beers (was about 25 fans from each club) in the middle of lancaster about 10 minutes from the station. Seemed a really decent bunch. I'll concede I forgot about that and 12 is in fairness alright.

The punch was accidental, missing the ball was poor on the keepers behalf but in my opinion it was not a foul....
The vast majority of contact within the sport is accidental, players slide in for the ball, miss and catch the player instead etc. It doesn't mean that these tackles aren't fouls - that's not how the rules work.

I've been watching the game long enough to know the rules I just don't judge that as a foul and rightly or wrongly neither did the referee.

It's one of those where if that's given across the board each team will have about 6 penalties. It was harsh at best

It's an example of how keepers get way too much protection. If any other player on the pitch did that it would be a foul no question.

A player can't get a red card for giving away a penalty through a foul even if it is a DOGSO as long as the referee deemed that an honest attempt to win the ball fairly was made by the offender.

If a penalty was given for that would you expect a red or yellow?
No, but it's still a clear foul in my view.

Yellow possibly if the ref wants to make a point about avoiding head contact.

The game was originally scheduled for a Saturday. A few who had travelled ended up at the Lancaster City match. We're not a bad bunch, although our numbers aren't great. Probably won't be much more than 50 at Torquay tonight

Looking at last weekends gates I don't think Barnet & Morecombe warrant being in the Football league. Awful to attract crowds of under 2000.

If you're going to be insulting, at least get the club's name right. - or were you thinking of the caravan site?

Accrington average less than 2000 too and are in the promotion spots

Should we relegate then as well on attendances?

Fuck me.
