Honking decision, you could argue a draw or a round to either fighter there. I had Fury winning by a round personally.

It doesn't even merit comment it's a clear robbery. Tyson's to blame. He spoke about things which must not be uttered and it's fucked them. Parker had a few rounds where he got through but for the majority he was just plodding forwards and eating up Hughies pitter patter.

Truly awful fight to watch and score. Although the cards were wide overall it was the right decision, you simply couldn't give it Fury as all he did was run and flick a half-hearted jab now and again. He landed a good counter uppercut but bar that I honestly can't remember anything else he did with his right hand. Parker wasn't great and Joshua and a fair few others would walk through him. Hope to god there's no rematch.

Boxing broken down is hit & don't be hit. You can't judge the fight on that basis and award it to Parker on the measure of last night. Finding it boring is no reason not to score a fight correctly.

This isn't amateur boxing though, you need to a show a bit of aggressiveness. Especially when you're the challenger, which is something Peter Fury acknowledged himself in the corner in between one of the rounds.

Not suggesting it was a perfect performance but he did enough to win by at least a couple of rounds. Regardless the two 118 scorecards prove Hughie wasn't getting the win unless he got the knockout. He was done.

I know. Fury landed fewer shots and was hit by more power shots. Compubox stats.

Knew that was gonna be posted before the thread loaded. I take punch stats with a pinch of salt and even more so considering the conspiracy against the Fury's. I've no desire to watch the fight again but Parker landed very little clean, when Hughie was trapped he took the majority on shoulders/arms before pivoting away. Hughie won the fight, they done him is all.

I've got to agree with Master D, you can't challenge for a belt and just run on the back foot all fight throwing mainly weak jabs and hope to get the win. Judges award points for trying to make the fight happen, and effective or not, there was only one guy trying. If he was champion he might have got it fighting like that, the onus is on the other guy to take the belt, it's just how it is. I don't want a fighter like that to ever get anywhere anyway

Yeah fuck the purest aspect of boxing that of not getting hit. Boxing is turning to shit. He wasn't masterful but he did more than enough to win. I do get the feeling the lack of condemnation is because he's from travelling stock, if the likes of AJ, Groves, Frampton etc was robbed in a similar manner we wouldn't hear the end of it. All I'm hearing is Hughie probably won but it was that boring I'm not bothered, get to fuck, if you win you win and he most certainly won.

They wouldn't fight in that way though, except maybe Groves, but he'd be on the back foot looking for a power shot, not looking for a luke warm jab. You've got to DO something

I thought the saying was 'hit and don't get hit'? Hughie only managed one of those.

Whatever. He was guilty of coasting but he clearly won. He was tagging (albeit infrequently) Parker with clean shots he didn't see coming and moved out of range. Parker was looking like a taxi driver for large portions of the fight.

Love Rigo, I just hope the size isn't to detrimental for him and ruin what should be a spectacle of two masters of the craft going head to head.

In a way, he did neither but they are one and the same. He didn't land anywhere enough and therefore naturally he was hit more. I think Hennessey literally banked on Hughie running about staying out of trouble for 12 rounds and then the judges giving him a gift decision regardless, but it didn't happen. I think the usual paranoia amongst the Fury clan reached peak levels at the weekend with talk of the "government" being involved in the decision

I watched the Luke Campbell fight, he put up a great showing against Linares after getting put down early by an unbelievable combination. Those cards were good ones, it was Linares by a couple of points.

If you don't believe there's an agenda against the Fury's you're off your nut. 10 rounds to 2 speaks for itself.

Is there an agenda against Golovkin as well? And Ryan Burnett for that scoring fuck up against Haskins?

Only simpletons take a unique case and try to apply it to everything else. Assess things in isolation. In GGG's case it's quite clear Canelo in LV has some major power play, he's gotten generous decisions his entire career. Burnett was mistaken for Haskins by an inept judge. Any more for any more?

The Fury's were done, period. Tyson has been done. Ever since he put words to camera on his views of Zionism he's been fucked. Trying to tarnish reputations by leaking what were cleared up discrepancies regarding hormone levels, stripping him of his belt, suspending him indefinitely for telling a tester to fuck off whilst in the grips of manic depression. They fucked him, he's attempted suicide on several occasions. I didn't expect them to stitch up Hughie though, that was a surprise. 118-110, okay mate.

If there's a conspiracy then how come Tyson got the decision in Germany?

Some really disgraceful corner work there from Tom Farrell's team. Getting smacked about and floored almost non-stop by Ohara Davies and it takes another really bad fall for the ref to finally stop it.

Should have stopped it after the second knockdown. Farrell doesn't have the punching power to rally back from being that far behind on the cards.

Moved over to Briedis vs Perez for the Cruiserweight Super Series.

The fight's probably finished now but where do you watch it? ITV's website or something? I only have freeview and I don't really get how these non-PPV ITV Box Office fights work.

Wouldn't bother, it's a stinker. Usyk would easily beat either of them.

Can't believe how poor Tom Stalker has been in the pro game, considering how good an amateur he was. This guy was the captain of the GB Olympic Boxing team in London and now he's getting comprehensively outboxed by Masher Dodd.

He was successful under that crap computerised scoring system weren't he so I suppose his style flattered him. The fundamentals required for the pro game are just non existent. I think these 'flashy' lads often fail to understand they need to grind if they're not packing KO power. A tallish southpaw with decent movement like he has should be employing the Joe Calzaghe approach of blinding his opponent with blitzing combo's to put em on the retreat and work from that base. He neither has the engine or inclination to do it though and so he just gets soundly beaten and made to look like crap.

Crolla beats Burns, I had it as a draw personally but every round was close and you could have argued a case for any result.

Eubank Jr folds whoever he fought in half with a mammoth left hook. Still think he lacks power at super middleweight but his variety of punches and work rate is a thing of beauty.

George Groves beats him though I reckon.

Had Crolla just. Don't want to see it again though, it was a nailed on points fight as neither man has any power and it's all a bit too nicey nicey between them. Besides which the lightweight division looks too stacked for either guy to become world champ again.

Groves will do a job on Eubank with that jab and he's much the bigger man too as we're talking about a career middleweight up against a huge super-middle. It'll be close and CEJ will be game, he's got an unbelievable engine and punch output.

The Eubanks are proper arseholes but Jr is a Box Office fighter, isn't he? Rarely in a dull fight and he's one of those fighters you just want to watch, irrespective of whether you want him to win or lose. I'll gladly pay the PPV fee for the Groves fight.
