They should take the TV cameras to Mixenden, lovely place.
Every town has its Mixenden, coming from Hartlepool you'll know that better than anyone. Only Halifax has the magnificent Piece Hall, Shibden, a town hall designed by Charles Barry, builder of the Houses of Parliament, an authentic Victorian town centre, those castles of the industrial revolution, our no longer dark satanic mills, all set like a jewel in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. We are blessed. :ds:

Reminds me of Stroud and Nailsworth, handsome old mill towns in some lovely countryside. Only difference is we have a league team :D

So would we if some rich bastard took us on as his hobby and ploughed in £millions beyond what we could ever earn off our own bat. I think I speak for every self respecting football fan when I say, I'd rather we EARNED our place, thanks. :£

Just seen the 'highlights' from Saturday's game. Really poor display, probably the worst of the season from the looks of it, hardly threatened and cut open time & again by a lively forward line.

Killip all over the place again, ball squirms under him for the first then decides to go Asdas for the second. He needs to get better fast as he's cost us vs Sutton, Fylde, Halifax, Bromley and now Dagenham. If Loach was here we'd probably have 5 or 6 more points but apparently having a squad the size of China was worth more than paying him what he wanted.

Stockport County.
Sounds like we were deservedly turned over by Aldershot on Saturday.

Maybe time for a re-think in regards to one or two of our lads. Gannon said as much post match I believe. Our lack of summer activity coming back on us. Need 1 or 2 more.

Losing Loach was disastrous for us, we all know they should've bent over backwards to keep him, he had no desire to leave they just didn't want to pay him what he's worth, I dunno the stats on his time with Barnet so far but they've played 9 conceded 9, we've let in double that with a keeper who's previous club let in 80 last season.

it's starting to sound like his one outstanding performance was at Barrow?

He had the best game of his life when we played at Braintree last season as they somehow got a draw against us. That's probably why we signed him.

The lad apparently has struggled to play in front of 3500 home fans according to Hignett. Well if that's the case then we've signed the wrong player. Sign players who can handle playing at one of the best supported sides here who have expectations.

I hope he comes good as he seems like a decent lad who wants to make his way, but at the minute he's a rabbit in the headlights and we haven't got much time for that.

I wonder how much he wanted? We're probably about 5 players too many in this squad. Unreal that they took on a league's worth of midfielders at the expense of a decent L2/VNL keeper.

Deserved 10-man win for us, for all the moaning our fans do that’s play off form now over the last 8 in terms of points (W3 D4 L1) with the only defeat being Yeovil away, a game we really should have got something from. At least three of the draws we probably should have won too, the uninspiring 0-0 v Solihull being the exception.

Brindley looked excellent on his debut, and a big shout out to Kyle Wootton and Jim O’Brien too. The less said about Doyle the better...

Tough game at Bromley next!

Would definitely have taken where we are in the table just before the first game, but it is a bit frustrating because almost all of the games in which we’ve dropped points since the Stockport draw are ones where we had the chances to get more.

Definitely not perfect, still think we’ve got too many players and our captain can’t stop himself from getting sent off, but promising signs. There’s no real excuse not to put a real run together now that the fixture list has calmed down a bit and the transfer business is done.

Yes, at the Hive we’re all appreciating Loach very much. He has the sort of presence that gives the defence in front of him confidence.

Loach looks a very good keeper. A huge improvement on last season.

It's impossible to get to their ground.

Really? It's on a Tube line, that's never really been the issue.

Try:

1) high ticket prices
2) decline on the pitch last few years
3) distance from Barnet makes casuals less likely to travel
4) poor match day experience - incompetent bar staff, terrace sometimes closed to save on stewarding costs, annoying overzealous stewards, faulty electronic turnstiles delaying entry
5) expensive parking
6) little support in Canons Park / Edgware / Queensbury / Stanmore - new locals have little interest in club who do little to reach out to them.

All correct except for the last part of number 6. Staff at the club have worked tirelessly to engage with the local community but all methods have failed due to:
- TK trying to save money by making ticket offers overly complex and not just ones that seem initially appealing such as ‘pay what you want’ or something similar. It’s all bundle deals and the like.
- The area is geographically distinct from Barnet and from any specific football club in general. They are more cricket orientated or follow a big PL club.
- when a successful campaign has stated, results in the pitch have put an immediate stop to it.

It’s very hard to earn new fans when you have a very frugal and stubborn chairman, no links to the immediate ‘catchment area’ and very little success on the field.

Crowds will pick up if we start to do really well.

But I’ve not heard much to suggest we have made a concerted effort to drum up local support in the immediate vicinity.

And pay on the day prices are shamefully high. Likewise away tickets. Given the fantastic bar under the away stand - we should be doing more to entice away fans rather than being the most expansive away day for most, if not all, people.

Piece of piss from Wrexham General: Get a Jacko Line train to Ponciau Banks, which is on the Jubilee Line, and get a southbound train from there; it's only 482,000 stops to Canons Park.

That’s bollocks as he played a few games here while McKeown was injured and did alright, no glaring mistakes or owt.
