Four games tonight of varying degrees of significance. A win for media paraiahs Gateshead should see them safely operating their bankrolled selves above their natural level for another season, whilst it’s probably last chance saloon for Torquay against an Orient side who haven’t won at home since Boxing Day.

Former proper club Halifax host five embattled non league clubs at once in what is sure to be a turgid affair - if they don’t call it off 10 minutes before kick-off, that is - whilst Meadow Park might well be hosting the lowest National League crowd of the season. If the Heed don’t beat them to it tonight, that is.

Probably the least significant set of fixtures you will see this season.

Wouldn’t mind a Maidenhead so we stay 3rd clear on pts.

Don't worry about this one O's.... we travelled to Maidstone last Saturday who hadn't won in 17(ish) games so you're 100% guaranteed your first home win since Boxing Day.

Doubt many of us will even bother with this one after Saturday's debacle. Any other time would have seen us bring approx 250-300 minimum for a match against the big boys.... but, would you make a round trip of 400(ish) miles on a Tuesday night to watch yet another embarrassing defeat?

Our club is rotten to the core. The owner just wants the land. The manager just wants a pay cheque. The 'players' just want .... away. Crowds have dwindled over the last 5 years. But... nevermind, we'll have one of (if not 'the') best stadiums National League South has ever seen.

You’d do well not to underestimate the complacency running through our squad at the moment. We know we only need 4 or 5 points to stay up, but there’s a real ‘mañana’ attitude to getting them.

Can’t say I enjoyed my sole trip to Plainmoor (the 2-0 floodlight disaster back in 05-06), but I will be sorry to see you drop and be replaced by Dartford or whatever tinpot shite is crawling out of the NLS.

So this is what we've got at the bottom of the Conference tonight:

We're nailed on to go down so not that it has much bearing but....

How the hell did Solihull get so good?

Hartlepool trying to find a level where they'll be the biggest club.. unfortunately for them that'd mean whatever league is below the national league north..

Without a doubt that was the worst performance we've put in since JE took over as manager, we looked lathargic, tired, out of ideas and not arsed at all. Far, far too much complacency from our players this evening, which I haven't said since JE took charge, as we generally have been on the front foot from the off in all of our games since he got here, tonight we were awful and it shows we're not safe yet by any means.

Torquay scored their only chance of the game, sat back and we could've played all night and still not scored. We find it tough to break teams down who sit deep and invite pressure.

Solihulls result tonight has meant we've got away with an awful display a bit.

Two games against Torquay this season and we've been awful in both, when they beat us 3-0 in November shortly before JE arrived, it was the wirst performance I've ever seen from my club on the pitch.

Still hope Torquay can find some way to restore themselves as a club.

Not sure why you’ve cropped us out, we’re right in the relegation fight. And guaranteed to lose 0-1/0-2 to Wrexham on Saturday.

Fuck me, we might actually stay up. A game of two halves in which D&R had the most of the 1st half without actually creating many chances but went in 1 up at the break thanks to a freak deflection. 2nd half the daggers sank further and further back as we pinned them back and for w0 mins we were superb. I still half expected us to "do a halifax" and cock it up in the last minutes though.

Tonight saw the most bizarre exit from the pitch of a substituted player ever. Fruitdrop Balloon ( or whatever his bloody name is) strolled towards the touchline and then when 15 yards away turned round and walked back 10 yards to shake the referees hand before eventually heading off. Surprised the ref didn't book him for his cheek.

Two wins in the next two games against Moors and Guiseley and i think we can start planning for another season, and with a bit of luck Orient will have Adams' loan recalled so that i can stop wishing relegation on them.

It's really starting to feel like our survival depends on Hartlepool's demise.

Starting to look like winner stays up next Wednesday? Either team lose that, us especially having played two more and it's arse clenching time.

Id argue Stockport are a bigger club than Hartlepool..

Historically a bit yes, about the same size as a Tranmere. Difficult to say Stockport are bigger than us nowadays though. Anyway, why would we be trawling around looking for a league where we'd be the biggest club? Is that why Tranmere got themselves relegated here because they weren't the biggest in L2?

Hartlepool are the only club to have to apply for re-election more times than the Shaymen. Not a lot of people know that. They do now, I'm sorry was it a secret? :fl:

Crewe as well with 7 times. You got 6.

But we've never once finished bottom of L2/4th division :)

Neither did we, till they brought in automatic relegation.

So you have finished bottom then. Is it once or twice?

We've had a lot of 18-21st (/24) finishes mainly in the 70s/80s.
You're still not as shit as we are though. :bdick:

Nice. All day drinking for me tomorrow to celebrate that.

We are long, long overdue a home win, and I'm sure we'll be going all out for the win in that one. For us, we need to win at least one from the Hartlepool or Guiseley matches, otherwise we're definitely gone. Obviously, out of the two of us, I'd rather you went down - but on the pitch and not due to administration etc.

I think you'll beat us especially if Luke James is playing. He's bound to rip us apart.

Hope it's as entertaining as our game at the Vic. I don't think I've ever seen such a high quality game.

Wasn't at that game, but I suspect that's sarcasm... We're a different team, totally different style now, and we've been playing okay in general, but the fact that we've still been getting beaten doesn't bode well.

James has been one of the few bright spots, an absolutely fantastic player at this level, and will start. I'm looking forward to it, as it'll be a month without a home game.

Looks like Halifax are going to survive then..
Shame that win for Torquay is too late but I do hope the rumours that Osboure wants to sell are true.
