Oxford score their usual late goal against us.

I didn't expect us to get anything, and it's looking like we'll get nothing from them again.

They haven't troubled us, but we haven't threatened them at all in the second half.

Yeah, we're a pretty average L1 side it turns out.

Wigan will piss this league in all honesty.

Last min equaliser/goal against Oxford - makes a fucking change.

Thoroughly deserved.

Haha nice try, hard thought? We were 3 up at half time and could have been more if not for a clearance of the line and 2 simple square balls not finding their target. I can assure you we were in cruise control second half, don't worry we'll be ready for that Leeds reject you have in charge.

Difficult game though, I'll go 2-2 again as it didn't work out to bad Saturday. Although on my September predictions I have it down as a narrow defeat. Just hope the noise coming out of Frankie and Bennies doesn't overwhelm our players.
As you were.

If Patrick hadn't hit the inside of the post and/or Doyle hadn't made a clanger with more or less the only thing to do then we'd probably be on 16 points now. But it's still a very good result in difficult conditions against a decent team.

I missed the goal as I threw my toys out of the pram and turned it off on the 93rd minute when I didn't think we'd have another chance.

Not really quite sure how we lost that game. Just wasn't our night sadly.

Controlled most of the game and lost cause our defender slipped in the rain leaving their player free to score. Very disappointing to lose.

We're really going to have to start taking Shrewsbury seriously soon.

4 points from Posh and Oxford in consecutive away games is a good haul in anybody's book, really pleased with that. Not sure how long Doyle can be a shoe in for keeper though, we don't look like we could buy a clean sheet at the minute.

There's always one team that sets off like a train.

We will beat them on Saturday.
You may well, we will lose eventually, but if you do you will have to work for it.

Tough win against Southend tonight who battled hard especially 2nd half with the wind against us. I know they have players out and they are better than the 6 points they currently have.

2 wins in 2 for Jimmy Floyd and the lads. Really clinical, resolute performance tonight, and I don't think it will be too long before we are in the top half.

Of course, we lose and you become a pessimistic bastard again. 38 games left remember.

Gutting not to be able to see out the game after deservedly getting our noses in front.

Ref seemed to be on another planet along with his linesman. Ignoring a penalty in the first half and blowing up because a free kick did not leave the penalty area from the goalkeeper.

Fantastic football from us and Bradford look to be a side pushing for automatics. I fancy us to be the stronger side for the return fixture.

Seems to be working well!

Sadlad isn't going to be happy...

Only made 2 changes in the end but i wouldn't be happy if i was a Wallsall fan tonight, the effort was there from their players with high pressing all the time but they made far too many errors and lacked quality throughout the team.

Tbf bud there was an element of light-heartedness in my post. I've not gone into a Latics game expecting us to win for about 15 years.

Things seem to be looking up for us though, so despite us being in the bottom 4 and you lot flying, I'm still positive going into Saturday.

We look absolute lethal going forward at home scoring 13 home goals already and everybody seems to be chipping in with the goals as well which is a positive sign of things to come.

Lee Frecklington probably might have goal of the season contender already with the first goal and tops the game off with a hatrick which he still shows why he's one of the best centre mids in the league.

More possession, 66% more shots, 150% more shots on target, 52% more expected goals and concede an equaliser with the last kick of the game. Bradford say we didn't trouble them and blame the keeper. Oh alright then.

Not pessimistic.

Just a real wake-up call. Calling us average may have a bit reactionary but Wigan are the real first decent team we have played and they completely dominated us. I said earlier in this thread that this would be a test to see if we really have the credentials to seriously compete for the top 2 and we were taught a lesson. We looked tired and leggy already and again, depth of squad looks like it could our downfall. We've got a few players to come back from injury of course and a great chance to get back to winning ways on Saturday but based on last night, top 6 is what we should be looking at. Wigan were streets ahead of us and probably the rest of the division, still back them to win it at a canter.

You had 2% more possession than us and 4 more shots.

Sounds like me last season when I kept telling myself that 70% possession and 20 shots at goal every game made us class even though 19 of them were pea rollers straight at the keeper and we'd somehow ended up drawing the game.

Hahahahahhaa you were lucky you caught us on an off day.

Barcelona can keep Messi, Madrid can keep Ronaldo. Lee Frecklington- GOAT.

I've already given my thoughts on the other thread but your defence couldn't cope with Robbie Hall in the 1st 20 odd minutes or Gino van Kessel when he came on when your defence went into panic mode. Last ditch defending and a bit of luck kept us out at those times. Your defence and midfield were thoroughly tested and in the second half found. The other periods you were the better team and a draw was a fair result.

As for your keeper, he did nothing wrong for either goal. With the 1st goal, the initial shot took a deflection which wrong footed him. Look at your defence and midfield for blame for the 2nd goal as we played through them with ease, in particularly Gino who led them on a merry dance to set up Rothwell giving your keeper no chance whatsoever.

Every teams got a couple of players who can 'walk through a defence' and every team apart from the Gills has scored against us so far. It's league one, shit defences are a thing. As for Doyle it's far more than last night that makes me think we should give someone else a go.

Trying watching the games instead of looking at the stats on the BBC for your rambles.

Your second goal was a very well made goal, the only time you really got through for a clear cut chance. As you say the first took a deflection from a hopeful long shot, if you don't get that luck I couldn't see you scoring up to that point with Hall your only genuine threat. However a draw was definitely a fair result as we didn't create much either, it felt like the two midfields cancelled each other out a bit. Still a decent game in awful conditions and probably the best side we've faced so far. The return fixture should be a decent game.

You said Wigan were the first real decent side you've played.

Implying you expected to beat us and that we're average. Think we've shown this season we're genuine contenders.

I was implying that the only team we've faced that have been decent are Wigan.

If you go to the August prediction thread you will see I predicted a draw for our game and also in the premature prediction thread I laughed off the idea that Rotherham would be anywhere near the bottom four. I've never doubted Rotherham's credentials either, I think I had you top half and that was with question marks over your manager.

Wigan are the only team to have caused us real problems (other than Oldham for a spell) and we had no clue how to deal with it.
