Wilson and Morgan sacked by Chesterfield. Been a while coming in fairness, Danny seems like a likeable bloke but a rank average manager. And obviously Morgan will always hold a place Blades fans hearts as a fantastic captain.

Richie Humphreys in temporary charge.

Who do you want now Spireites?

Thankfully there was little real vitriol levelled at Wilson; partly because he's a popular local, partly because he's a popular ex player and partly because most fans realise he was making the best of other people's mess.

But the last few games have had a definite 'last days of Rome' feel.

Who next?

Well that'll tell us just how serious Dave Allen, the owner who walked out the recent AGM having quit as Chairman, is about the Club's future.

If Ritchie Humphreys remains as temporary boss (the PFA Chairman a manager? Isn't there an element of poacher becoming gamekeeper involved in that?) then he clearly doesn't give a rat's ass. On the other hand a considered and strategic appointment may, just perhaps, begin to turn the tide - no, make that tsunami! - of negative PR he and his underlings have brought upon CFC over the last couple of years.

Early frontrunners include Hasselbaink, by the way. Recently linked to dodgy dealing? He'll fit right in...

Not suprised, we played them a week or so back and despite us being woeful for weeks we barely looked in any trouble, looked disinterested.

Carried by Ched yesterday, we didn't need to get out of second gear, no surprise he's been given the boot

Danny Wilson, being an ex Wednesday favourite, was always going to have his enemies in the SU crowd
But surprisingly his likability, genuineness and "nice guy" image won over most fans at Bramall Lane.
Around the time we sacked him there wasn't that much vitriol here either.

I heard his pre match interview against Bradford on Radio Sheffield. He was saying how it was a good result to get a 0-0 draw at home to MK Dons because they have a great team in a false position and are a big club. Then he was saying how Bradford will be such a tough match because they are such a great side and will have over 20,000 home fans backing them.

Talk about building up the oppostion?
He did that when he was out manager too. We could be playing a non league team in the FA Cup and he'd say how he expected a really tough match.

Danny has had plenty of opportunities at league 1 and it's never worked out for him.
Makes you wonder if he'll get another management job and at what club?

Got to agree with all you say, he did well at Swindon, but in his last season he lost the dressing room, he always has bigged up the opposition, prehaps that's his way of trying to motivate his teams.

I wish him the best of luck .

To be fair to Wilson when they went 2-0 down yesterday they actually went two up top and 5 in midfield to try get back in the game. I just think apart from Ched the players aren't very good.

Are the rumours of players being up for sale true?

Being serious for a moment, irrespective of club and rilvary, it's a shame when regular supporters get caught up on something they can't control and the shit hits the fan.

Nice fella, but he can't manage. If you listen to him as well, he sounds so boring and doesn't seem to be able to motivate to me. Humphries and Duke can't do much worse a job, but I think it's important we make a statement with the full time appointment, but I doubt monies will be freed up to allow it tbh...

The squad isn't *that* shit IMO, we just need to play to our strengths a bit more and get an identity. What we dont need to do is start selling everything that's not nailed down in this window like I fear is going to happen...

No thanks.

He'd be welcomed more than he would be at Morrisons but there wouldn't be a deal in it.

Chesterfield fans, especially Westbars, remember when you lads said Rotherham would be bust in a couple of years 4 years ago? hahahaha

The shit your club is in is everything you wished upon my club and I'm glad it's happening to you lot, I really am.

Have fun in the abyss.

Bollocks, you were the first to cry about us having a new stadium and having big budgets for league two.

Reckoned on we'd be in admin in a couple of years.

How wrong could you be, only debt free club in the championship.

Wilson is a shit manager but no doubt he will end up with another job, he's still not managed Rotherham or Doncaster so he'll probably end up there.

Right move, his tactics and interviews were awful. Who we get next I have no idea but it is a big appointment. Our remaining directors have said that going down isn't a viable option for the future of the club so wonder what they will pull out of the hat?!

Saying that, we should be clearing out all our useless players that clearly don't give a shit too. The club is rotten from top to bottom in my eyes, there will be some eye watering attendances if things carry on..know of so many who have lost interest and that interest is hard to rekindle when people start to find better things to do.

Kevin Davies has offered to help out, and I feel we may go down that route of a young in experienced manager. Whoever it is, has a job on their hands.

Just what the doctor ordered eh Spirederman?
Happy with Caldwell JJH as you know.

A forward looking appointment and after convincing myself yesterday GC had turned it down and Tony Mowbray would be taking over I'm over the moon.

Good appointment for Chesterfield that, did a good job with Wigan and thought he was harshly sacked this season. Still very young as well hope he does well.

Very pleased with this, and doubly pleased that Tony Mowbray didn't get the nod. That would have been a massive step backwards. I thought Wigan were quality last season, and emplying a young manager looking to make something of himself is a good move for a club in our position. For all Gary's talk of 'using the players he's got' though, I feel the club definitely need a laxative. We're carrying a lot of dead weight
