Starting this thread early.

A win for United will bring them within 2 points of Liverpool, a Liverpool win puts them 8 points ahead.

Liverpool have an FA Cup match against Plymouth on Jan 8 and a League Cup semifinal with Southampton on the 11th. United play Reading on the 7th in the FA cup and Hull on the 10th in the League Cup.

Predicting 3-2 to United, they've won their last 6, albeit against weak opposition.

Wow this is early epic! Too early for predictions from us as we don't know who'll be fit by then.

Well done Epic, now we'll have G-Dragon, Art Morte, Snortingfrogs and Saltire talking bollocks in here for nearly two weeks.

Don't worry there is enough shite emanating from Nilsson, you, epic himself, and Christian Slater - and maybe Spear might turn up as well to balance it all out I'm sure. ;)

Sorry, but the reigning champions of the "worst set of fans" award take the biscuit for talking bulldink.

You are shoo-ins to retain it as well.

See you in a week and a half or so!

Yep I was considering closing the thread earlier, but seeing your comments in the box and here about that award; then I may as well leave this open and let the chaos ensue. ;)

Do I really need to write "match chat" in the OP for you people to understand?

I'm German and I need it that everything has its place . Now look in the Matchday Section, we have the whole page with pics from Susanna Reid and now there's one from some obscure (African?) country. Nah, that's not good /i

3-1 Liverpool btw:D

That's Saltire's only purpose, Dirk. To titillate us with sexy pictures of Susanna Reid.

I partially did this to mess up Saltire's entire life.

Well done setting the tone!

Salty and I were managing to repair the damage and create an atmosphere of peace and sexiness and here you are trying to drag things back down into the gutter!

You should be ashamed.

I'm always amused by the rivalry between the two clubs. Don't understand why or how you're rivals, but it amuses me.

You live in Liverpool but you've failed to grasp the Liverpool/Manchester rivalry? If yes, amazing. If no, then I'm sure you can connect the dots and realize why the United/Liverpool rivalry came to be. Otherwise it's a short google search away.

United couldn't be playing us at a better time, our free-flowing attack has ground to a halt and we're really struggling in the final third. Still confident of at least a point though, we seem to step up on these big games. And at least we'll try to win, which is more than can be said for the bunch of cowards we're playing when they came to Anfield back in October.

1-1.

Matip and Hendo resume full training tomorrow which is great news as we'll be back to almost our strongest 11 (excluding Mane of course). Can't see Matip being risked for Sunday, but if Hendo is back then thats great, he's been missed for sure.

I think United will win too. They're on a good run and as Pag's said Liverpool seem to have lost their flair at the moment. On a positive note for them the Brazilian is back. They were dire at Southampton, but started to play a bit better after he came on with a bit of inventiveness they'd been lacking. I dom't think United will park the bus this time, and I think they'll win - by one goal.

I'm always hesitant to predict a win against Liverpool because they, still, always have a knack of really turning it on for the big games against the big sides. Of course they usually go on to undo that by losing to a smaller side they are expected to thrash but that's beside the point.

I do predict a United win here, though. We've won nine in a row, haven't lost since early November and are playing some nice, attacking football while staying tight at the back. Liverpool's attack is clearly strong but they are defensively shaky and have a goalkeeper than can be got at, no matter which one they field. I'm thankful Mané is away at the AFCON because he would have made short work of Darmian.
