Shame he has had to blame the FA for the discussions ending instead of just accepting that the majority were just not interested in his "vision" for the future of English football

The scrapping of FA Cup replays wouldn't be a bad idea, in fairness.
Logic may support you but I have to disagree. The TV money (and in some cases gate money) from the replay can be a godsend to little clubs like us, Taunton, Dover and Halifax :hypo:. I don't begrudge Dover their reward that means that this morning I've been checking the balance on my little used Dart Charge account and considering the joys of the M25 on a Thursday evening. More important, for the fans it prolongs the enjoyment and delays the deflation by getting you in the hat for the second round and pre-match knowing that a draw can still be a good result. Bugger the Big-Time-Charlies who want to get it over with and focus on the league.

Depends who's drawn in the next round but I think we'd have taken the replay at Old Trafford over a penalty gamble to get through against Preston away. I'm sure Taunton were pleased not to miss out on the delights of Holker Street and night out in the NW last night.

Hmm, I always see a one off tie as the best chance to beat the team your playing. Take Exeter for example, they'd have had a better chance of beating Liverpool last season had it gone to ET & penalties...

He can also take his u23 Trophy and insert it in his anus, without lubrication.

I agree. It's just a reflection of our different outlooks on life.

Some would value the best chance of a win on the record and the experience of winning, albeit on penalties, with progress to the next round - even though the more likely outcome if it has to go to extra time and penalties is an earlier exit.

Some, like me, are happy to savour the experience and rake in some extra cash, even though a replay win is less likely than if it had to be settled first time around. Then, I am from the generation (and team) that had the joys of 3 replays, including trips to Chesterfield and Preston, to get past Alfreton - only to enjoy a 3-0 hammering at Barnsley.

Means we'd keep our record of the most consecutive FA Cup games going to a replay (think it was 14 in a row(!) - the last one being last season or the season before).
