I'm not disagreeing with you, just feel the statement of 'he wouldn't get punished if he was a big name' is wrong. I just genuinely think they're inconsistent.

Reminds me of when Windass used to play for us in L1 he used to get himself banned for three games around Christmas so he could have a couple of weeks off. He started a fight with a ref in the car park after a game one year and committed an absolute horror challenge against Bournemouth another year which could have easily broken the lad's leg. He never got any extended punishments for it from the FA even though it was almost a regular occurrence. I just think they were oblivious to it. When you're getting outsmarted by Dean Windass then it's time to call it a day.

Had to laugh at the last sentence!

Like I said we will see next time a similar incident occurs as to whether they've been consistent or not.

You'll be waiting a while I think, just seen this incident and can't really think of any reasonable comparison. It's fucking savage.

I know the Rooney one was brought up but it's not in the same universe - it's obviously a shit thing to do, but it was nowhere near the level of force, more forearm than actual elbow and to the back/side of the head rather than bang on the jaw. Designed to shake someone up rather than rearrange their face.

The only similar thing I can think of is that Barrow player who clocked someone off the ball in the FA Cup the other year. He was sent down as I recall and Andrew is genuinely lucky not to be facing something similar.

Its a bad one, its off the ball so clear intent... its not like he is going up to head a ball and had a cheeky swing... unsure why he used his elbow rather than fist there though!

On the street he is facing charges so 12 game ban and he has got off lightly.

Woeful player... he has scored more against us for Dale (2) than he has in all his time at Vale (and that was a Doug Loft shot that hit his arse and deflected past the keeper!) The fact we were top scorers in the country that season and even Ben Williamson was a regular scorer when he started in that Vale side shows how bad he was!

He isn't a woeful player anymore and his absence will weaken us considerably. He has himself to blame though.
