As I prepare to head out for a night in Nottingham, the angst and frustration of September are all but gone. Despite some disappointing league results, especially at home, we've seen performances to stir the passion (and forgiveness) and game plans that the team understand and buy into. We've also seen goal chances created and a collective approach to addressing shortcomings. Derry returns to Meadow Lane in good heart - but we're still only two defeats away from panic breaking out again.

Dunk and Elito remain doubtful no mention of Taylor (who said never listen to Derry's sick list interviews? :pond:).

Norris
Halliday, Legge, Roberts, Taylor
Dunne, Clarke
Mingoia Berry, Dunk (or Elito...or Maris...or??)
Ikpeazu

Should be a few of us travelling but a few more County fans giving it a miss? 420 U's in a 3,600 crowd? 2 - 1 to the U's.

3,600 is massively optimistic. Can probably take a few hundred off that, we are not in a good place. Derry will get a better reception than anyone vaguely associated with Notts.

I'm going, but struggling to think of anything worse. We've won three of twenty one home games in 2016. :10:

I heard its 15 wins in 50 home games. Can't see that changing tonight.

Campbell off the bench and scoring to level late on for us.

Surprised at the attendance. Didn't realise things were that bad at Notts. Good result for us

Got back from the States this morning, quick trip home, on the train to Nottingham, severely jetlagged but totally fucking worth it, very good performance against a por Notts County team, only two chances they had came from errors by us. Uche is a machine.

Got to, got to follow it up with a result at home on Saturday.

For the sake of Pies fans, I won't prolong this but they were dire and they all know it, as Sheridan clearly did from his despairing interview that we heard as we left town. The pitiful attendance and atmosphere reflected this. If Trew doesn't manage to sell soon, they'll be vying with the other ownership basket cases (Orient and Morecambe) in the bottom 4. It highlights what a sterling job Bowyer is doing at Blackpool - his apprenticeship and experience at Blackburn is standing him in good stead.

You can only beat what's in front of you. There were tons of positives, including a building momentum, but we still can't finish and made harder work of the second half than seemed necessary. I guess a second goal would have helped confidence (Was "Super Offside Mark Roberts" really offside again for that goal?) and half the team were showing the effects of 3 games (2 very intense, incl extra time) in 6 days.

Home results remain the major glitch to be addressed.

He definitely looked it from behind the goal. Did that thing where you automatically look to the linesman when a goal seems dodgy.

Hard to assess Cambridge, really. They were less impressive than Blackpool or Newport were in dismantling us but still very comfortable winners. Ikpeazu will cause anyone problems just with his sheer size.

Good to see that Derry seems to be be learning from his mistakes, too. That was a far more ambitious performance than just about any he managed whilst with us and you clearly have far more youth, pace and energy than the team he put together here did. There's not a single person at Notts that wouldn't like to see him be a success, anyway.

I think the penny has finally dropped with Derry and he's playing positive football. The negative to that would be his subs when we get a lead but don't add two or three.

He panics, makes negative subs and it filters through to the team and our play. His subs have cost us points in the past and I'm sure they will in the near future.

I don't know how many times Derry's subs have cost us points, but the most obvious one was when he made those late substitutions against Dover in the FA Cup. I think he only did so because he had one eye on the pointless Scunthorpe Checkatrade Cup game, so he could rest some of the regulars in that match and doesn't get fined by the FA.

Nope. Now I've seen the highlights, I can't see how he (or anyone else) could have been offside at any stage. One minute in:

Pick me, pick me. Missed Notts last night but I did Wycombe last season on the supporters coach on a Tuesday night after landing from Mexico that same morning. We lost 1-0 and keeping my eyes open for the 90 minutes was a real struggle. But I was there. :-D Got home at about 1ish, got up and went to work for 8. Yeah, I felt like shit.

Great win for us last night. Fully deserved by the sounds of things. 4 away wins on the trot and some nicer home games coming up. A play off spot is up for grabs if we can get our home form moving.
