Ball boys just get in the way
Club have issued a statement that they have reviewed the film, named the player involved and have reported the incident to the FA. The statement is pretty much as strong as it could be, and suggests that the club are extremely unhappy. What may be key is what the family want to do, this could make it more awkward for the FA.

Did you see the spitting
Like I said earlier, I really respect your club and fans, but your players are absolute c***s. Pushing over ball boys and spitting at fans is not very commendable.[/QUOTE
Did you see the spitting? I did not, but one of my lads did but a morally shocked nine year old is not the most reliable witness. As the player had a bottle in his hand I assumed he washed his mouth out, turned around and spat it out behind himself rather than deliberately spitting at fans.

I know they had a bad game, but Plymouth fans referring to their entire midfield as 'ball boy' is a little insulting...

From what I saw of the incident, it was only a little push to get the ball back. But you can't go around doing that, you have to keep your head. Everyone knows what ball boys are like when you go away from home. Can see Kelly getting a 3 game ban and a fine like Hazard did - Although Hazard was far more aggressive.

If Kelly has pushed over the ball boy, can't complain at a three game ban. It's stupid. Don't understand the fans venomous reaction to Plymouth reporting it either. If he has it's pretty bang to rights.

Your keeper killed two children, the club made him captain and he's idolised by your fans.

But how dare someone shove a ball boy.
Yes because that is completely relevant. Of course because of that our fans should not be annoyed an opposition player pushed over a ball boy. I think it would be quite fair if opposition players were allowed to foul our players without any repercussions as well and before every match our ball boys have to line up and get punched by all of the opposition players!

Actually we should just pay reparations to the every club in the league for it, while scoring 3 own goals at the start of every match because that's just a lot fairer way of doing things!

Can we make it retrospective though so we get a better goal difference?

To somehow steal that at the end was a massive bonus, we was well worthy of a draw - but to nick the win was a bit of a robbery.

Plymouth should've killed us off, but we played well again for the fourth game in a row and made plenty of chances and our second equaliser had been coming.

If Massey gets injured though, we're fucked.....

Matthew Kennedy played well for Plymouth, he gave our 17 year old full back Myles Judd a tough game.

A cracking game for the neutral, we was a bit lucky not to have a man sent off though, ref very inconsistent.
When will your act of scatophagy be taking place?

Ball BOY? Hes fucking huge............... Player will get banned but ballman looked like he moved it away from the player to behind his back to waste time. Not sure what the score was at the time and it could be argued that the movement was the first part of the action to throw it back to them although player was right there and he could have just handed it to him.

Getting bored of all this now. Can anyone actually confirm or deny how old the ball boy was? Does it really matter how tall he was ? A professional player shoved him over which is really all that you can see on the video. Facts not conjecture or your own personal interpretation please.
We were shite for most of the second half, that's how we lost regardless of Orient's rugby tactics & we move on to the next defeat at Hartlepool probably minus Bradley & Sarcevic.
I'm starting to seriously think about putting some serious wedge down at the bookies about us ending up in the play offs again.

I haven't seen this one yet - however, re: the Eden Hazard vs Ballboy incident. I remember at the time having every sympathy with the Belgian wizard. Chelsea were chasing the game and when Hazard went after the ball (to take a throw-in I think?) the ball boy (17 years old and boasting about his time-wasting antics on Twitter the day before) basically, dived on it and hugged it to himself, clearly deliberately preventing a quick restart. Hazard angrily attempted to kick the ball out from under him and ended up getting a piece of the ball-youth instead. Not sure I would have reacted any differently to Hazard in the same situation.

I remember a less cynical time when a ball boy was typically a wee young lad who's only instruction was to return the ball to the pitch as quickly as possible at all times, and not to forget to return your tiny portable bench after the game.

I agree very excessive and I have called out other Argyle fans over their stance on this issue if the glove had been on the other hand.
However if the moron had taken stock & just issued an apology in the immediate aftermath It probably wouldnt have came to this. Complete lack of control.

So the opinion is that the physical assault of a minor should carry the same punishment as say a defender deliberately handballing to clear it off the line?

There's no excuses for this one chaps.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that he should have had a one game ban.

The thing I object to is the inconsistency. Whilst I appreciate that the circumstances were slightly different, did Kelly really deserve a ban that's twice as long as Hazard? I don't suppose the 'not fit for purpose' decision by Parliament had anything to do with their making an example of Kelly immediately afterwards... and don't even get me started on Terry & Shelvey's shorter bans for racism....

I've seen loads of angles of it, and the ball boy wasn't time wasting - he was about to throw the ball in the corner for Leyton Orient to take but I guess Liam Kelly wanted to pick it up himself. Definitely unnecessary, but I was only expecting a 3 game ban as I think 6 is a bit excessive.

Agreed Sam - I've seen it now and totally unnecessary from Kelly. The ball boy was doing exactly what he should be doing - quickly getting the ball and rolling it towards the corner flag. 6 games - although it's harsh, the FA tend to come down hard when it's something physical and the evidence is so clear.
