Returning to the scene of our first ever Conference match, a smash and grab win thanks to a somewhat fortuitous Lee Peacock freekick. Knowing that Crawley were hot favourites for the title that season, I remember walking away from that game thinking "we're gonna piss this tinpot league even with Neil Woods in charge". About a month later we'd been spanked by Rushden and Diamonds and lost to Tamworth, Fleetwood and Hayes and Yeading.

I'll take another jammy 1-0 today.

So I expect a 1-0 loss.

Sounds like we've had a bit of a pounding 2nd half, 3 - 1 down never mind Bignot had to lose sometime.

The Jordan Roberts is wonderful second half.

That was a good game of football. Grimsby fans won't agree cos they lost but it was.

Bugle is a good player. The header for his goal was first class.

Roberts first goal was everything I like about football. Battle to win the ball. Simple pass, quick attacking, intelligent cut back and a classy finish. His second will haunt keepers everywhere.

Though I think Bogle is a decent forward I'm not sure why he thinks he can give tips to his keeper. Some keepers I've known over the years would have lamped him.

Looked like a good game from the highlights. Bignot said he thought Crawley looked fresher than us, they also looked hungrier than us from what I saw. The 3rd Crawley goal is annoying. Someone on the near post would have stopped that. A couple of quality balls in two of the goals, too. Firstly, the assist for the opening goal was excellent followed by a neat turn from Collins. Vose's ball through a sea of players to Bolarinwa in the build up for our first was brilliant too. As for Bogle's consolation...

Very disappointing, although no complaints, Crawley were the better team on the day and deserved the win. Apart from Bogle we were poor and only Vose knows what he was doing when he kicked the ball straight out for the corner that led to their 3rd goal. Another error from James McKeown too so we could well see Henderson giving an outing before his loan period is up.

Two more excellent goal from Omar that will push his value up a bit if (inevitably) the bigger clubs come sniffing in the transfer window.

Then a very eventful journey getting back with delayed trains, early terminating trains and missing our connection at Kings Cross. We finally got back to York (where I was staying with a friend for a long weekend) nearly 2 hours after we should have done, due to engineering works on the East Coast Mainline too. The thing was though from entering Crawley station to leaving York station there were no barriers in operation and no ticket checks on any train we were on! Could have got back to York for nowt!
