Sacked this morning. Right move. No idea who could/would replace him.

Whoever it is I wouldn't expect an upturn in fortunes, with Lloyd, Whitaker, Evans and Durrell (our first choice midfield) all out injured we have a severe lack of ability in the middle of the park.

Would usually say thanks for the efforts and all that, but it's just not worked at all so very much for the best.

Your record now is what 35 league games without a win, ouch!
Remember Yates briefly being a player for us back in the 90s, useless!
He arrived and we went from being likely to get top 3 to missing out altogether.
Not much better as a manager then...

Hopefully that will be the end of Yates ever managing a football league club again.

The odds are a mix of people who you wouldn't want (Michael Brown, Russel Slade) and those there's probably no chance of and have been thrown in there to make the list larger than 3 people (Ferguson Jnr, Nolan, Bowyer, Bellamy).

Whoever is appointed can't do much worse but, with the injury crisis and the lack of players of the required standard, Macc will have to appoint a miracle worker.

Survival would be a great season from here.

Edit: Obviously, that's from the outside looking in.

I actually think once they get their first win they'll get a few more. Looking at each match in isolation, they should've piked up far more points than they have and I believe they've had some unfortunate luck. Whether the late goals is a mentality thing is debatable, but I reckon a new manager could instill some belief and they could be ok. After all, there's plenty of bad sides in this division who are happily on hand to give you a leg up if needed.

Feel for Yatesy, just hasn't worked out for him. Should have stayed at Solihull really.

Easy to forget he forged arguably the best footballing team I've ever seen at Whaddon Road and took us to within a whisker of promotion. Went downhill fast for him from there though.

Not quite sure why, but our ex manager is again the bookies favourite for the job.
Well we all know he was approached about it last time round so it's likely that he'll be considered again. Plus he's out of a job now so presumably more likely to take the offer? That's probably what the bookies are thinking anyway.

North west club, struggling at the bottom, not sure what the Macc nightlife is like but Nolan’s gotta be up for this. Sort of gig I’d imagine he’d do alright with as well.

Thank god he's gone. Honestly didn't believe they had the balls to do it.

Shame he's left a load of shit players for Danny to work with.

I thought Yates might have done a better job, considering how he turned Solihull around, but a little surprised he's been axed this early.

Likewise r.e. Solihull, but given how well they're doing this season under Flowers, you have to wonder who was making it all click last season.

Feel like Steve Davis might actually do a decent job for you, for a year or two.
Can just imagine the interview with Macclesfield relegated in 23rd place and Davis proclaiming he is the saviour as they were in a better place than when he took over (24th)

Sexy footbaal on the deck like

A had an illuminatin chat with Blowaz aboot the job today like, went dead canny and am buzzin.

Let me introduce mesel for the minority who divvant knaa wot am aal aboot.

Aboot me

Me name's Craig and am the most successful gaffa in Welsh foota history. With a geet massai budget, A won 13 trophies in 6 year at TNS. Am a proven winna, a've won the same numba of Champions Leagues as Arsene Wenga so safe to say am a legend of Cymru foota. Here's me profile pic:

1539117222000.png

A year ago a got me big break in the nashunal league like. A moved to Hartlepool and a did dead canny there like. A wos briefed to gan for promotion and a wos well on course for it like, a did me job and left 'em in 19th place, anly 24 points off 7th. So me record is canny. Aal make yer groond a fortress, a anly lost 65% of home games. That's a beltaz run in any book that like. A aalso won managa of the month (see above), where me keepa was man of the match in anly 5/6 of them games.

Me brand of foota

A love to play attackin on the deck like. A play 541, with one isolated strika with nee support coz aal the stats say ya shouldn't congest the opposition half. A larnt that on me UEFA A badgaz. A aalso like to pick playaz in positions considerin their dental records. For example, a put Nicky Devs on the left back as two year ago he had a gum cavity and aal the stats say them lot are canny there so a converted him from a numba 10 role to that and he fuckin shone. Am a bit of a genius

The fans

It's betta to neva eva eva acknowledge them at the end of games and turn roond if they're givin jip and say 'am the one with the badgaz like'. A divvant reckon in the modern era there's a place for fans, howeva if they're a qualified dentist aaal take note. A must say they loved me cliches, am full of them and a did a seminar on media cliches for UEFA B licence nee hopaz.

Me hopes

Am lookin to join a massive club in the north west with a young squad. A knaa there's geet loadsa youngstaz at Macc and a can get the best oot of them. am pickin Whits to get to the Prem in a coupla year. He will unda me tutelage and branded 'harrison teeth floss'

So Macc fans, divvant worry. Am the man for yee. Me record speaks for itsel. Momentum aalways carries me through and it is what it is.

Aal be geet radged if a divvant get the job like, Blowaz says am the favourite and he loved me vision and dress sense.

fingaz crossed for me like, a knaa am the popula choice

He was infuriating for about 2 years for Crewe fans, think Macclesfield struggling in league 2 would be a good opportunity for him.
