Wigan vs Leeds

A tricky one to call. At the start of the season, I'd have had this down as a banker but Wigan have surprised plenty of people in this league so far, especially at home.

Leeds' squad has again been hit with injuries and both our first/second choice right backs are unavailable. I'd imagine Dallas will start in defence on the right - hopefully with Douglas back on the left. Forshaw did enough against Forest to start again IMO, so I think Saiz will start on the bench.

Can't call it. Leeds have missed a lot of chances in recent games and if they don't take them, they'll be punished. They try to overplay at times and this has been frustrating to watch. If Wigan score first then it's be an uphill battle, Wigan will be no pushover.

We’re also crippled with injuries. Our entire first choice attacking four will be out injured assuming Powell hasn’t recovered from last weekend. MOTM against West Brom Gary Roberts pulled a hammy at Sheff Utd so he’s out as well.

I think the team who scores first will probably win the game. We haven’t gone behind yet at the DW this season and I don’t think we have the firepower to comeback if we do. However if we score first then we’ve been good at the back at home so it won’t be easy for Leeds to comeback. I’d take a draw but my gut feeling is that our home record goes on Sunday, 0-2 Leeds.

Been confirmed today that this will be the final match under the ownership of Dave Whelan with our takeover to be officially completed next Wednesday. Hopefully a little extra motivation for us to stick two fingers up and beat a “big club” against the odds for the final time.

As soon as we handed Leeds their second it was game over as we had nothing up front. Outfought outthought and outclassed. Reece James again our best player. Class act that boy.

Also forgot to mention that it was a very nice touch of Bielsa to acknowledge all our attacking players out injured. He recognised that we couldn’t give them the sort of match we are capable of. Nice touch from a top manager.
