It was either abuse complete strangers on the internet, or read a book. And you were. All. Out. Of books.

Reading a very intriguing Ben Kane novel now you mention it, I'd recommend if you're interested?

Should be in the bottom three by the end of January if Bolton and Reading pull themselves together and manage a win or two.

Where's Abertawe? Funny how 6 months ago you were saying we're going down and you were going up. We're one of the best clubs in the country now whilst you're scraping a draw at home to Wigan, loving every minute of it you Welsh c***.
Oh yeah, the sheep shagging fuckwit whose side were going to go through the season unbeaten as 'this league is shit'.
Strange that he / she has disappeared off the face of the earth! :fing:

Some big games in the relegation battle on NYD: Ipswich vs Millwall, Rotherham vs PNE, Wigan vs Sheffield United. All things going well, an opportunity to open a bit of a gap between us and the bottom 3.

A run like last season if you sign Marshall and Burke perhaps...

Our mini season starts at the end of January. Any points from now until then is a bonus with our fixtures so as long as we end January outside the bottom three I’ll be happy.

Yeah, we're done and dusted. Even if claims that ME is backing Lambert this month with up to £10mil; who on earth is going to sign for us at risk to their career when we are now 10 adrift at the turn of the year. We won't bounce back next season either.

Yep we’re done, Evans won’t back Lambert and he’ll resign as early as 31st January.
Absolute mess of a club.
Although, don’t like to blame refs, but we have had some absolute dog crap of them this year!

Throwing loads of cash usually works.

Lots of doom and gloom from the Ipswich lot. I can understand but still big club for L1 (bit like Sunderland this season perhaps not as big).

10 points is a huge gap to make up, especially when you've only won 2 games in 26.

We’re nowhere near as big as Sunderland but we’d definitely be in the top 3.

I don’t tend to bother with old stats on players, they never seem to follow true at Ipswich either way. I trust Lamberts judgement at the moment so I’m all for it.

I suspect it’s more preparation for league 1 than survival. Our turnover will drop massively on relegation and I suspect in the Marcus Evans way, covering himself financially

The team is all over the place at the moment. Most of the more 'senior' players are just not performing at all and seemingly don't care; Sone Aluko, Mo Barrow, John Swift, Tiago Ilori etc.

Don’t underestimate just how shite L1 is. You’ll be fine down there. It’s the only meagre positive I can take from a relegation battle. If we go down Grigg, Jacobs and co will just bring us back up. Again.

Don’t forget you managed to keep most of your players last year who are top end L1/mid range Championship quality. Ipswich are full of Hurst’s mediocre L1/L2 signings.

It is shite though, and would expect Ipswich to be in the top 6 with a few signings.

Can't believe we're still 7pts clear with a bare bones team following a terrible festive period.

Some bad teams this year.

I wouldn't totally write off Ipswich's chances. Even when they've been shite (though admittedly not to the extent of this season) they have a history of stringing together unexpected results after horrendous runs of form when they've looked hopeless (the 5-1 over West Ham in 2011/12 springs to mind when they lost 7 in a row and a terrible Forest side did the double over them). Teams can recover form from somewhere, though as Liam said it's tough to regain it when you've lost it for so long and they may lack the quality at present. But they have one of the better managers outside the Premier League who has time to make some shrewd signings this month.

Though, if they do scrape survival have they got much to look forward to? It may not be such a bad thing to go down - a change of scenery, winning on a regular basis which they haven't done much since 2005, and hopefully an opportunity to revitalize the club a la Leicester, Norwich and Southampton.

Looking at the table, you have to say Ipswich are probably doomed plus Bolton are in all sorts of trouble financially, again, so, if they make the end of the season, you'd expect them to go which leaves just one spot for the pub league.
From our point of view, I think City have enough not to be too worried, even if we go on a 'Johnson' losing streak but I can't really call who might be the 3rd team.
Rotherham were unlucky at our place with 2 sent off, Reading beat us ( :( ) but both are clearly struggling and there hasn't been a new Manager bounce at the Madjeski.
Wass reckon? Who's the 3rd?

I'll guess at Reading.

Vital win yesterday but still a lot to do. If we go down, this is what record we’ll lose which will be a shame.

Big win for us yesterday. Unfortunately Reading won as well so the gap is still only six. Two away games to come now, so any sort of return would be a success.

We’d won four in a row before Saturday and looked like we were pulling away. But then we played like absolute dogshit and lost to a team that scored with their only two shots on goal (both excellent goals mind), so I’m not sure anymore.

Both Evans and Lambert confirm that Lambert will stay even if we go down! Best signing of the transfer window
