Dom Howson reporting he’s been sacked, few rumours in the media Bruce will take over as well. Walkley will be happy...

Shame, he was doing well I thought. In all seriousness although he had nowt to work with, his bizarre omission of some of their best players was very odd. Whoever gets the job won't have a penny to spend I wouldn't have thought unless they offload a few first.

Came into a difficult situation, steadied it a little last season but this season we've got into a bad run of form and he's had no idea how to get us out of it. His refusal to play certain players for whatever reason has come back to bite him on the arse, under a new manager I'd be shocked if the likes of Westwood and Hutchinson don't come back into the team. I'd be thrilled with Bruce but if he's taking the job there has to be some kind of assurances that he can make changes to the squad somewhere down the line, we've become a total circus over the last few months and a manager like Bruce is the perfect choice for a situation like this.

Bruce is the only option for me. Who else could Wednesday attract at the moment? If Bruce wants to get back into the game, then he will jump at this job. He will know there won’t be much money, but there will be assurances there for him to be able to do something with the squad over time. I’m so glad he left villa, for ours and his sake, but it weren’t all bad. He just wasn’t the right man for our squad.

Fucks sake, that's made tomorrows game more difficult. I was quite confident we could have been the team to finish him off, they'll be more up for it now though you'd think.

I don’t think they need too much really. Westwood, Lees, Hutchinson, Bannan, Lee, Reach, Forestieri, Hooper is really a top six spine if you can get them fit. Shouldn’t really have much trouble keeping them up, like you said Luhukay’s omission of several quality players is odd. Shot himself in the foot.

Thought he was an odd appointment anyway. Never really got going, if had owt about him he would have shown it so not a bad thing for Wednesday. Chairman next and I'm sure they'll be happy.

They are never fit though some of them, Hooper,Lee and 1FF are a waste of time. Good players but that's pointless if they are never fit. Bringing Westwood back in should help, Hutchinson will probably get injured straight away again. Not sure what their contract situations are like but a few of the above could be on their way anyway.

Hooper’s out of contract end of the year I think, I’d make a proper go of getting him here as he’s one of the best in the league if you can get him fit, quality player. Hutchinson’s class as well isn’t he, would’ve probably gone onto bigger than Wednesday if not for injuries but he’s already retired once, wouldn’t be surprised if he did it again.

Yes I'd say 1FF, Hooper and Hutchinson are their 3 best/ most important players but all 3 are constantly injured. Never been a huge fan of bannan and he's proving me right in the last few months, they'll stay up anyway, as long as they don't finish above us I'll be £270 up in May.

Told ya it would be Bruce. 2 million a year as well offered apparently. Jesus!

That’ll be Powell off to Wednesday in the summer then. Southey doesn’t deserve to see a man of such class don a Sheff Wed shirt!

I wouldn't be thrilled with Bruce, I suppose he can do a job in this league though. It's unbelievable football management, sacked and paid off then stroll into another job 2 months later and if they are paying him 40k a week, which could be a load of bollox they really aren't learning from their mistakes financially.

We was, helped a little by your player trying a bit of Kung Fu. :bg:

Players looked very much up for it for a change, it was nice to see Westwood, Hutchinson and Boyd involved again.

You can't say that wasn't a red card, surely.

Let's put it this way - had that been the other way round Preston would have been screaming for a red too .

Didn't think so at first, but having watched the replay in slow motion, it was a defo red. Stupid as fuck sometimes Pearson.

Still think the ref was a wrong'un though.

Was surprised at this decision actually (but I haven't seen Wednesday play week in week out and how bad they are - from reading a couple of threads on Owlstalk, it seems not one person is against his sacking). Yes they are on a bad run, but I thought Wednesday were a team in transition and Luhukay was trying to reduce the average age of the squad. In which case wouldn't it have made sense to give him at least one whole season, unless they are in serious danger of relegation by February/March? When you have youngsters in the team, results are inevitably going to suffer short term through moments of naivety and they are still learning to cope with playing under pressure especially away from home and to react positively to conceding and not let your heads drop (as seemed to happen at Swansea last week).

Admittedly the run was quite concerning, as it seemed the only hope of getting points was if they were playing the Blades or poor teams at home - anyone half decent (or even Brentford who are below them) and they got battered. And even in the one game they won, against a very poor Bolton team, they didn't have a shot on target at half time. But teams have turned it round after worse runs of form, like Luhukay did with them last season, so who's to say he wouldn't have done it again?

His decision to keep the likes of Westwood and Hutchinson out of the team was only going to ruin our younger players, Dawson was coming in for some serious stick and at such a young age he needed taking out of the firing line. His team selections were picked out of the 50/50 half time raffle box, and his tactics weren't working yet continued to persist with it. He had to go we were sleepwalking to relegation.
