Back to winning way for The Bantams at the weekend, following two very poor performances vs FGR and Crewe.

We reverted back to 442 against Northampton, and again, we won. 3/3.

We’re far more balanced playing that formation, especially with the introduction of Harry Pritchard and Dylan Connolly - who are both very direct.

So far, our biggest problem has been the central midfield - and trying to find a Gary Jones-like bastard of a figure for DM. We tried Danny Devine (one of our own) at the weekend, and he didn’t do too bad - only lacking a bit of creativity at times. On comes Callum Cooke, who slots in alongside Matty Palmer at the weekend, and all of a sudden we look like world beaters. (Slight exaggeration).

When we’re on our game, we’re very good. There was only going to be one winner in the game at the weekend IMO.

On to Walsall: they’ve started a bit bad, haven’t they? What’s the craic here then, Saddlers?

Team:

GK: Richard O’Donnell

RB: Kelvin Mellor
CB: Paudie O’connor
CB: Ben Richards-Everton
LB: Connor Wood

RW: Harry Pritchard
CM: Danny Devine/Callum Cooke
CM: Matty Palmer
LW: Dylan Connolly

ST: James Vaughan
ST: Clayton Donaldson

I’d take a draw, but given their form, we really should be going there and giving a great account of ourselves.

1,000ish City

1-0 Vaughan

Just had a look at the table because I'm bored. Walsall have only scored 3 goals so far, the lowest in the division. They've conceded 8, which isn't too bad. Pretty clear which end of the pitch they need addressing.

Something tells me that they’re probably going to base their poor start on something other than just a leaky defence/misfiring front-line.

Because they give us money to call it that.

All this pales into utter insignificance when considered alongside the glory of West Lothian that is the Toni Macaroni Arena, though.

Away from restaurants with crap names chat, Walsall form wise offers us a good chance of winning which I think we will, 2-0 ish? Team picks itself given last Saturday, Cooke to start.

Remembered going to Fleetwood and getting hammered 5-0 in a cup replay and they played goal music four times for every goal.

After 20 times it got a bit wearing seeing a jolly fisherman dancing on a big screen to tinpot music.

But all the world is football shaped....

Yeah, it is definitely a tinpot afflication. Especially when it afflicts teams that in every other way aren't tinpot at all.

It's just for me to kick in space..

Walsall 0-1Bradford City FT.

Both teams flattered to deceive. We started alright, having a goal chalked off (again) for a foul on the keeper - obviously, there wasn’t a foul in the play at all.

Walsall came into the game after the second half, but we looked more likely to snatch the win when the ref awarded a pen. Vaughan skied it that high it landed in my nans back garden in Cullingworth.

Vaughan made amends with his contribution for the winning goal. Vaughan claimed it, but it was given as an OG.

A draw probably would’ve been a fair result, but winning ugly away from home is exactly what is required to get out of this khazi league.

On to a difficult looking away fixture at Cheltenham on Tuesday (did I really just say that).
