Creepy horror from that Dario Argento bloke. 7.5/10. Maybe an 8.

I liked the Babadook. It wasn't particularly scary but it kept me hooked throughout.

As I'm off work following my op, I've been working through my horror collection. Watched Insidious 1 and 2 (will watch the 3rd when I'm more up to it).

Also, watched the Conjuring again which remains excellent and I've just watched Annabelle for the first time which was very underwhelming. The doll barely did anything in the entire film. It was ultimately just a prop for another demon movie. And I found the part of the black woman ridiculous as well.

Watched Untraceable last night. More of a thriller than a horror although it has horror themes. I quite liked it. An interesting view on society.

Going to work my way through Jessabelle (expecting an average film), Apartment 143 and Case 39 over the next few days.

I watched Gothica. Maybe light and not very scary, but I have a great fondness for this movie

Watched a couple of horrors tonight.

Halloween Kills
I really enjoyed it but think it goes overboard on the kill count. Doesn't really fit Michael's character imo. Better off lurking and picking off people like in the older films.

Bradford vs Hartlepool
Scariest shite I'll ever watch

The Lighthouse
Robert Pattinson knocks one out and smashes a seagull to death. Absolute shite. 4/10.

In the Mouth of Madness
Love this. It's mental and Sam Neil is always worth a watch when he's playing someone a bit crazy. 8/10.

Shang Chi
Was told this was one of the lesser Marvel films but I really enjoyed it. 8/10.

31
Typical Rob Zombie film. Bit of gore and not much else. 3/10.

I saw a good horror movie - maybe not ULTRA scary, but it kept the level.
Saint Maud - the biggest advantage of this movie is that it's not funny (and horror movies often are)

2024 has been pretty subpar for horror IMO.

I watched Imaginary the other night and thought it was alright.

Watched Late Night with the Devil. One of the best horror films of the last few years, I reckon. Enjoyed it very much.

That's on my list, good to hear it's got the Cas seal of approval. I've not seen that many good new ones in the last few years so if you've got any reccos then please list away. Barbarian and Talk to Me are probably my faves from 2022 onwards. Feels like there were loads of great films from 2010 until the last few years and it's died down a bit. Or I've just not been paying attention and I'm out of touch.
