No pay the players no play.
It could be a kids team on Saturday should the stewards get paid and the match be on.

NOW 3 lots of administrators after the fat rat
ANOTHER two companies owned by former Bury FC chairman Stewart Day have been placed into administration, it has emerged.
The Bury Times revealed on Tuesday that four separate companies belonging to Mr Day had gone under, owing £27 million.
And now it has been confirmed that Mederco Huddersfield and Mederco Block A are also being wound up.
A third set of administrators, London-based RSM Recovery, has been called in, joining their Manchester rivals Leonard Curtis and Duff and Phelps, which were previously asked to unpick the bulk of Mr Day's empire.
The two Mederco outfits in the latest administrations were involved in the development of Kingfisher Court in Huddersfield, incorporating 250 or so student apartments, off Manchester Road.

Just look at Who is after buying Bolton. Screwed Watford. Most owners are only interested in how they can make a buck.

Bury need to look more to the Exeter model of fan ownership.

Do Tranmere fans seriously expect an opposition team, that has won promotion to not celebrate? I can understand that you got relegated, which is painful enough without having to see the glee of opposition supporters but in what way was there a lack of class? There is no way if the shoe was on the other foot Tranmere fans wouldn't have behaved exactly the same. (that goes for ALL clubs, not just Tranmere who I have no issue with at all)

Oxford fans still bear a grudge at Orient fans for celebrating on their pitch for a similar thing.

What lacks class is this comment - "After the way the Bury fans gloated and danced all over the Prenton Park pitch in our final FL game for 3 years, contrary to their own board's request to behave otherwise, it is very difficult as a Tranmere fan to have much sympathy for their current plight"

We had Bournemouth fans celebrate promotion at our place a couple of years earlier and had no problem with that whatsoever. They were all over the pitch as well but showed us respect in their celebrations.

Bury`s "rent a mob" were a total disgrace. I myself saw one group of them head straight for Tranmere fans making "going down" gestures and laughing their head off as they were doing it. Some of them seemed far more interested in winding us up then celebrating. Three of them were sitting in the row 2 in front of me in the Johnny King Stand and keep quiet all game but as soon as the final whistle whistle went they headed for the pitch and one turned round and shouted "enjoy the none league you scouse bastards" at the top of his voice. This coming from the fans of a club that in the opinion of a lot of fans of other clubs that season cheated their way to the top by paying outragous salaries to players they couldnt afford. And lo and behold that are doing exactly the same thing again. Mayor, Maynard and several others are reportedly on huge money, far more than players at clubs like ourselves, Exeter etc could hope to pay.
Sorry but it is very difficult for us to feel any sympathy for that club and I for one can`t wait for them to come to Prenton Park last home game of the season in the hope that we smash them on the pitch and send their "rent a mob" who btw were nowhere to be seen at Giggs Lane at Christmas but will probably turn up again packing with their tails between their legs.

With debts reported at £14,000,000 fan owned would only be after admin.
More small traders shafted (couldn't give a flying fuck for grubby money lenders)
We really are a shambles.

So, how does that pan out? You get wound up here and now or at season’s end? Do you restart as AFC Bury down the pyramid?

IIRC Bristol City just changed there name slightly in 1982 and carried on.

Feel for you lot, I really do.

Insolvency laws changed in 1986.

If the team was in conference and went bust then they start up again as AFC Bury no higher than fifth tier of non league.

Liquidation of Football League Club’s have not happened recently so it is unsure what would happen to them. The EFL don’t like to throw teams out even when the owners deserve to be.

Things might be changing however with cases like Coventry and Bolton coming to the boil.

Two wrongs don’t make a right buddy. The amount of shit I’ve seen at Gigg I should hate a lot of clubs, but quite frankly I don’t care.

I hope you get the redemption you clearly desire against a team that won’t be giving a shit about losing to you.

Goodbye x

I’m quite fond of Gig lane, despite Tranmere having a pretty poor record there in the time I’ve been supporting them. Hope the football club pull through for the sake of the real fans who have always been a good bunch. The previous regime have left a time bomb at the club , hope they are held to account but somehow doubt it. As usual it will be left to the fans to pick up the pieces.

I understand your feeling and I do hope that Bury survive in some form but the fans you feel sorry for were amongst the ones that have enjoyed the spoils of the previous owners vast over spending in the shape of promotion 4 seasons ago and possibly the same again this season. I don`t remember them complaining about their financial state than. Just gloating about going up !!!

Fans don’t get to choose their owner. They either go with the flow or, if it is someone they object to, they stop going a la Blackpool.

Tbh, all most fans want is to watch their team play and hope they are successful.

We’ve been in trouble before, most notably 2002, but this situation has the potential to be far worse. For a start, back then Bury were seen in a more positive light, being the plucky club that upsets the odds... now we’re seen as a club that spends recklessly.. and our debts are about 10x what they were previously.

I can’t see a way out of this one personally. Our debts are just too big.

I can sympathise with Bury here if their players are going on strike as our players have also been on strike since the beginning of March.

One things for sure, the players still seem up for the battle on the pitch, and anyone suggesting that they are willing to throw away promotion/go on strike needs only view the passion of the celebrations for the goals. Good to see Maynard with a bit of gallows humour with the begging bowl celebration!

Wasn’t having a go at you in my previous post and your right in that there was a substantial minority of Bury support at Prenton that day that were gloating at our demise. Don’t think they were real through thick and thin Bury fans though, just some immature pricks who’d had half a lager too much.

Seems the kindest thing Rovers could do Saturday is to beat Bury, so that they’re more likely to be involved in the play-offs and make extra revenue from that.
