According to the Daily Mail we’re after Green and Davis from Villa for £7m.

I’ve never heard of them.

Hope you sign them tbh as that will hurt villa more as they will be relying on their young talents. Tbh both seem decent players from what I’ve seen of them, Green has a lot of pace and Davis is a strong physical CF.

I am resigned to losing a fair few players this summer but I think we really need to keep hold of Green. He was very good at the start of the season before he had his injuries (especially against Norwich) and, like you say has a lot of pace down the flank. Davis has good hold up play but his finishing is awful. We have a lot more options upfront so losing Davis wouldn't particularly bother me although he did do a good job when we had injuries to our forwards. We are very weak in the wide areas now Snodgrass has gone and I'm expecting Adomah to leave so keeping Green is a must IMO.

If we let either of them go, especially Green, then I'd be very concerned. They are not players I expected to leave.

Villa still owe £6m for McCormack, £2m for Chester & £3m for Hogan.

Had to accept a reduced payment from Burnley for Ashley Westwood in order to get it early too.

What a shit storm.

Yep, I think we rang Burnley up last week to see if they could help us out.

I honestly didn't think we'd be another Leeds, Wednesday, Forest. I'm pretty certain we will be.

How is all this only just coming out? Were there not rumours of them being massively in trouble before the play off final?

American businessman apparently preparing a 75m bid for villa. I can just imagine them fluking there way out of this as usual but after years of torment from villa fans when we had all the Carson Yeung shenanigans, Rowett/Zola fiasco I hope they can suffer for at least a few seasons. Time will tell but I’m enjoying it for now.
Why would anyone buy a club for money when there’s the distinct possibility it could be got for nothing if they go bust?

That’s the problem they’ve got - any interested party waiting to pick over the bones.

In hindsight that playoff final was probably the most defining game in Villa's history. To most people on the outside we knew they'd have to tighten the purse strings if they didn't go up, but nothing to the scale that is being reported this week. Seems like they've bet the house on Villa going up and now it's gone tits up the cracks are really begining to show.

Worst state we've been in since the 1960s. We will sell our team no doubt, but we will still finish above you clowns.
:fl: Cheers for the good laugh. I think we will smash you in both games and finish ahead of you comfortably. I thought with you failing play offs was gonna be a fun summer with you having to be tight with funds but I was wrong it’s gonna be an AMAZING summer seeing the vile be completely stripped to its bare bones, along with the World Cup it’s absolutely glorious, the best thing is it’s absolutely deserved as the vile have the most arrogant, snotty, delusional smug stuck up fans on the planet :£:fl::2thumb:

It's obvious it was our biggest game probably ever. We knew it was huge, but with all this shit that's happening it seems it really was make or break.

I don't think you will either, I'm thinking more along lines of Portsmouth, Rangers, Luton Town. :bg:
Can't speak for every villa fan, but I'll take it on the chin whatever happens. We will be back in the prem at somepoint.

It's funny thinking what would have happened if you lost to Fulham that day. Villa would probably be in the PL now and none of these money issues would have surfaced. Keith Wyness would probably be sipping champagne along with a big mac on an opentop bus journey through the streets of Witton.

I’m just winding you up mate... oh no that’s HMRC :fl::p

:fl: Genuinely made me laugh.

I do feel for the fans but something's got to give, the game is a mess. Could be us in a couple of years.

Fair point. Ours was mainly down to the collapse of ITV digital than the incompetence of our owners though.
Ours was the shit level of parachute payments, shit players, awful managerial appointments, weird chairmen and the fans blind fucking loyalty/apathy. Took 4 years to protest, cuddle Ken Bates, split a fanbase and we still have a c*** band.
