For Cardiff City:

GK: Etheridge (if he stays - Bournemouth & West Ham United have been linked with him)

DL: Joe Bennett
DR: Lee Peltier
DC: Sean Morrison (Capt.)
DC: Bruno Ecuele Manga

ML: Josh Murphy
MR: Nathaniel Mendez-Laing
MC: Leandro Bacuna
MC: Will Vaulks

ST: Kenneth Zohore
ST: Bobby Reid

Substitutes: Curtis Nelson, Alex Smithies (GK), Sol Bamba, Joe Ralls, Junior Hoilett, Callum Paterson, Danny Ward

Expecting Matthew Connolly, Rhys Healey, Brian Murphy, Omar Bogle, Lee Tomlin and Gary Madine to move on soon.

Hopefully, a few youngsters like Jay Bowen, Ben Margetson, Sion Spence and Cameron Coxe will also get some game time this season.

I know Cardiff weren't very good last season, but you haven't dropped this far!

Haha, I see what I did there.

Never mind, no harm done (hopefully!)

We do have some decent youngsters in the U23s/U18s - if any team is looking for a decent goal-scoring midfielder then Sion Spence would be a decent bet for a loan spell. He's done well for our U18s and is now in the U23s for this season.

We've just taken Mark Harris on loan from you lot. Any good?

I think Tarpey's departure means there is enough slack in the budget for a new forward. The big question is who and how much they would cost. New LM and RB if we can offload two from Alexander, Sparkes, Bettamer, Robson.

I would start Santos over Reynolds if fit.

I would hope this summer we apply a strict one in, one out system if we are to sign anyone else. Our squad is simply far too big and we have got to take a more sensible approach to recruitment.

I can't recall how the transfer window operates at this level but if we find that we are desperately struggling, or need to recruit to potentially make the difference etc. we should do so mid-season.

He's a very good prospect for the future, and he should do well for you.

Good luck to Wrexham for the season ahead - hopefully one day we'll see you back in the Football League.

There is no transfer window at this level.

Thanks Gavin. The days of you, Swansea and us all playing each other regularly seems a distant memory!

Definitely need a LB as there isn't a single one at the club and we need another CB as Keane spent virtually all of last season playing in midfield, and IMO we could do with another striker.

Finally remembered my login details...

For Halifax:

GK: Sam Johnson

RB: Michael Duckworth
CB: Matty Brown
CB: Nathan Clarke
LB: New signing

DM: Niall Maher
DM: Jack Earing

RW: Josh Macdonald
CAM: Cameron King
LW: New signing

ST: Dayle Southwell

Bench: Jacob Hanson and Josh Staunton

We have 11 players. A grand total of 1 signing so far this summer in Jack Earing. A kid from Bolton with about 5 senior appearances, 4 being for Curzon Ashton. Other than that the squad that we do have is fairly strong and we’ve got rid of all the deadwood. Whether we replace them with better quality remains to be seen. Our keeper, centre backs and right backs are extremely strong for this level, however new wingers are needed, a proper box to box midfielder and more options up front. Not to mention sorting out the left back issue. Probably need 8/9 more signings in total.

With a few squads (not ours!) beginning to take shape now, what is your starting XI shaping up like? What holes need to be filled? We currently only have about 17 players, and I expect some to leave before the start too. We HAVE to sign some players, especially defenders (we currently only have one CB and two RBs), but with our alleged takeover dragging on I don’t see how we can, other than loans.

Anyway, if it kicked off tomorrow, I guess we would go:

GK: Ross Fitzsimons

RB: Matt Tootle
CB: Pierce Bird
CB: No-one
LB: Andy Kellett (midfielder but can play LB)

RM: Sam Osbourne (youngster)
CM: Michael Doyle
CM: Mitch Rose
LM: Enzio Boldewijn

CF: Kane Hemmings
CF: Kristian Dennis

Subs with first team experience:

Tom Crawford (CM)
Will Patching (CM)
Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain (RB)
Then two or three kids

So we need a GK, couple of CBs, at least one LB, a winger or two, couple of strikers. And that’s if we don’t lose anyone (wouldn’t be surprised if Hemmings, Boldewijn and Dennis aren’t here come Aug 3).

So, couple of days til the first friendly and.. still this!

Be interesting to see who plays at Nuneaton, expect we will be trialist heavy. Particularly interesting whether Boldewijn, Dennis and Hemmings play - the three who everyone expected to leave and who really should be too good to be playing at this level. One of the most surprising things this summer has been that there’s been very little linking them away. Might just be because no one is going to match the wages we’re paying them but I would at least have expected their agents to be hammering their names out there.

Are players under contract allowed to leave in the midst of takeover talks (if they've reached a certain stage) because won't they be down as assets on the balance sheet or something?

They must be, would surely be some kind of breach of employment law if not. We sold a teenager to Spurs a couple of weeks ago as well who was on a pro contract.

For me, we need Jordan Keane in midfield. He's was just as important to our excellent defensive record last season as Lewis Montrose was 2 seasons before that. He's a far superior player to Turnbull who would only be a squad player for me.

A new left back, another centre back (Jamie Stott please!) and a left footed utility man are the bare minimum IMO.

Yeah I'd agree with that.

I think we definitely need a striker aswell, Mulhern was good last season but also inconsistent and he's by no means a goalscorer and Bell is still very raw despite being very good at stages last season.

Happy with that. Just need to get the striker who will be replacing Wilkinson correct and there is a Play Off push potentially with that. The alternatives are good as well. Croll could easily play at CB. Robinson in CM. Graham and Dobson will also be battling for the wings.

As for the striker, I have a gut feeling it may be Alabi. Maybe being number 1 with us and being shown a bit of love might be what he needs.

Our team is starting to look decent now :

Rob Lainton

New RB ( Barnum- Bobb? )
Shaun Pearson
Jake Lawlor
James Jennings

Adam Barton
Luke Summerfield
Devonte Redmond

Bobby Grant
JJ Hooper
Mark Harris

Bench -
Christian Dibble
Mark Carrington
Leighton Mcintosh
Luke Young
Jason Oswell

Squad -
Mike Fondop
Paul Rutherford
Akil Wright
Manny Smith ( on the bench when fit)

Loan Out -

Matty Sargent
Jack Thorn
Doug Tharme.

It appears that we are still looking carefully for a new right back , although Jazzi BB has looked good on trial. It looks like we are also after another wide forward in the Tollitt mould , Lopes is currently on trial.Whilst Manny is out injured, a new CB will also be signed.

Much more pace in the team this year ,Redmond and Hooper could be great signings , Mcintosh and Harris are also rapid ! I fancy a fully focused and fit Bobby Grant to have a great season.

Young will start I'd imagine, he was very good in the 2nd half of the season. Can't see Manny coming back at all, and as a result Tharme won't be loaned out as we need him for cover.

Giddiness factor is certainly rising init.

I’ll be glad when we are comfortable in the haven of 10th place.

Wrexham's team looks very decent, not sure about their manager but got to fancy them for top 3 at least.

It certainly looks a very good side on paper and possibly the best in the league. I think promotion will come down to how good your new forwards are. That Hooper gets around 20 and you will be first or second I think

If Hooper scores for us like he did for Bromley then he’ll be sold in January and we can all relax. Our midfield and attack look much stronger than last season and you’d expect our defence to be rock solid like usual. If Barton is as good for us as Brad Walker then that’ll be fine. I hope we can get Walker back on loan soon enough when it is quickly apparent that he is nowhere near L1 standard.

I have doubts about our manager more than anything.

Eleven randoms to set us up nicely for mid table, perhaps swap to the second eleven in late december to deal with all the fixtures.

Having only seen one friendly so far I'd be tempted to go with this.

GK Ben Killip

RB Peter Kioso
CB Fraser Kerr
CB Michael Raynes
LB Mark Kitching

CM Gus Mafuta
CM Liam Noble
CM Gavan Holohan

WM Luke Molyneux
WM Gime Toure

ST Nicke Kabamba

Still got Luke James, Luke Williams, Josh Hawkes to chuck around in there too as well.
