You could say the same with France playing Sissoko but he was one of the best players on the pitch.
Sissoko has had a bad season but he's obviously someone Deschamps trusts, is generally considered a big game player and is probably the only player they've got who could do a defensive job on the right wing. Plus his pace offers a constant threat on the counter attack.

I just didn't see what Can could've offered Germany and think they had better options.

France is really in a big effort to lift the cup in their home. This was the best game I watched of this Euro. Germany played very well on the first half but France used the patience wisely to gain territorry. I was expecting a totally offensive Germany for second half but they came back not that vigorous and France then just walked to the victory. Griezmann and Pogba were amazing. Good game for both nts though and congrats to France.
