Watched a recording of our Europa league qualifier earlier against Shkupi at Ibrox which was won 2-0. A decent performance and could have been easier in goal terms as there were plenty of decent goal scoring opportunities created. Morelos, our main striker, gets into decent positions but his goal scoring boots must have been left in the dressing room plus I'm still concerned about his dismal ability to get caught offside far more often than he should plus he MUST get rid of his 'hot headedness'. What I was impressed with was....a far better attitude, better movement, better passing and closing down the opposition far far quicker than in the past when they'd stand off and allow the opposition possession. First competitive game of the new season so all in all a decent showing in front of 49,000 fans. I hope it continues and improves.
2nd leg was a bit dull from what I heard during radio commentary but still, finished 0-0 so through to the next round.

Don't know if Salty seen it but I watched the Dundee v Dunfermline League cup game yesterday and Dundee were poor whereas Dunfermline looked lively and better prepared. They won 0-1 thanks to an early goal and should have had a couple more. McCann will need to get his players to pull their socks up.

decent result last night....away win against Osijek plus clean sheet (0-1). Don't know what the performance was like as I've still to watch the recording but all the same...not bad.

From the BBC match report, it sounds like Osijek were kept at arms-length.
Hibs did well to get a win from 2-0 behind and seeing that they can't avoid scoring goals, they must have a decent chance of getting through.

Na never saw it. They won the other night though after McCann got stuck into them.

Why did Lennon get Bogdan from Liverpool? Anyone see his errors last night? I mean, even Karius is better than him!

That first goal he let in last night was a shocker.

Gerrard certainly isn't afraid to speak his mind in the media.

Mixed feeling for you Leo today?

Point away from home with 10 men but let in an equaliser so late on..

Yeah, certainly are mate. A very decent result up there especially having to play for over 80 minutes with 10 men. Thought we were going to scrape through with the win but one moment of slackness and that was it. As for the sending off....Morelos is a stupid hot head and opponents know this....so (I don't know if you saw the game) McKenna barges Morelos off the ball....gets no reaction so barges him off the ball again and Morelos has a petulant kick out....the ref is informed by the linesman, and Morelos is red carded....absolutely no action taken towards McKenna & the linesman MUST have seen it....a fucking scandalous decision and in all honesty two yellows would have sufficed. Then we get a penalty for Ball pulling back Windass by the shirt about 6 yards from goal preventing Windass from getting a shot in.....Absolutely NO attempt to play the ball....Red card ? Nup.....absolutely fuck all, not even a yellow.....unbelievable stuff mate. One of their players deliberately flings the ball with force and strikes a Rangers player right in front of the ref....no action. Lewis Ferguson deliberately elbows one of ours in the face....no action. Look, I'm no conspiracy theorist....refs have a hard job but I'm watching his display on Sunday and I'm thinking...what the fuck is going on with this c***? There, got that off my chest....haha. Overall, even when down to 10 men we were the better team & Aberdeen were simply lumping the ball up the park in desperation......until time added on! I'm certainly liking the attitude Stevie Gerrard has instilled in this squad....far superior to the past few seasons. Quietly confident for at least 2nd place this season.

Absolutely agree 100% with your surmation. My old man is a Rangers die hard and he echoed everything you said in a very angry rant!!!

Just for your info horns....the red card I mentioned given to Morelos ? Rangers appealed and it HAS been rescinded & reduced to a yellow. As I said in my previous post....fucking scandalous!

Gerrard managed a full heads gone moment just after his first game, despite it actually being a decent result. An absolutely ludicrous interview, goading over another team in a game he didn't win.

You do wonder what will happen when he loses. Who will he blame? Referee anti Rangers conspiracy would be the obvious target, appealing to the lowest common denominator in his support.

When he does get kicked out I have no doubt the English media will blame it on the poor standard of Scottish football and he we just weren't ready for his sophisticated tactics.

Mental strength? Composure? He seems particularly lacking.

And despite all that, his team actually looked okay against Aberdeen.

The guy has been nothing but class since he joined....no comment from you regards his interviews after the friendlies or the (so far) four European games but by fuck you just had to jump on the anti Rangers band wagon with this one....fucking laughable. Mental strength, composure....lacking ? That's excellent coming from a deadbeat like yourself who had in fact made his mind up about Gerrard before he actually started in the job. So to be succinct, your opinion means absolutely heefuckinghaw. Dig away, that's what you do best. Notice you had no fucking opinion on the points I raised regards the officials and their non action.....no surprise tbh!

And as for this comment...'When he does get kicked out I have no doubt the English media will blame it on the poor standard of Scottish football and he we just weren't ready for his sophisticated tactics.'....You really need to see a doctor son....deluded as fuck!.....

I do remember Rangers got awarded a penalty when it should have been given offside.

He didn't mention that.

Astonishing the red card was rescinded, really inconsistent behaviour from the SFA.

Managers, or players, criticising referees should be viewed with contempt regardless of whether they are right or not - it's bringing the game into disrepute.

As for the gloating comments about Aberdeen - only have to look at the reaction up here to see how that is viewed. Pretty much everyone thinks he went too far. Apart from thick Rangers fans.

If that is how he reacts to a good result what about when Hibs beat Rangers at Ibrox? I hope there are no DJs close by.

Although the best bit was him trying to say "provocation".

Or indeed:

"It's not just today, I believe it's been happening for seasons. That's just my opinion."

How has he formed this opinion? Is he seriously claiming he has been watching Rangers for years before taking over? When they were in the lower leagues? And that there was a conspiracy to benefit Alloa and Peterhead at the expense of Rangers?

"nothing but class"

Still no comments about the valid points I made regards terrible refereeing decisions....no surprise though. And still no comments about his class after the friendlies and four European games during the interviews......or, surprise surprise you didn't see them.....now that would be more like it. 'Conjecture' should be your username. As I said, you had made your mind up about Gerrard before he started so as per you aint gonna change. You are totally deluded as fuck. To repeat myself...your opinion means heefuckinghaw. Anything you say against Rangers will never stand up simply because you will never be impartial.....oh....and you're a clown.....:bg:

Question about the Hearts vs Celtics match, it is really as lopsided as this head to head page says? Is Celtic that good/Hearts that crap?

Never saw the game but by all accounts Rangers achieved a very credible 3-1 home victory over Maribor last night at Ibrox, a result that gives us an excellent chance of progressing. In no way am I going to count chickens as next week's away tie will be very difficult so hopefully, and I can see no reason that this won't happen Steven Gerrard will have the squad prepared and ready. Of course there will be bumps and lows (all going well, a helluva lot more highs) along the duration of this season but so far so good.

Certainly not today. Just finished watching the game and Hearts were far better, far hungrier and deservedly won 1-0. Celtic just couldn't get going due to pressure from Hearts whose players looked far more mobile.

Another 'decent' result this time at home against St Mirren. I say decent because I was hoping for more goals (perhaps that just me being greedy....) but the fact that we had young McCrorie red carded after about 30 minutes obviously changed the game and allowed St Mirren to come into it a bit more. As for the red...Saints player is going through and McCrorie puts in a stupid challenge outside the 18 yard box and brings the guy down....definite foul but a red ? Ref obviously thought he was being denied an obvious goal scoring opportunity but with players coming over to cover imo it was one of those I've seen not being given (a red) due to it being outside the box & a yellow awarded. Still, I'm not going to belabour the point, that's just my opinion. The new guy Barisic apparently had a tremendous game & looks as if he will be a definite LB starter when available. All in all things are going along not too bad at all. Happy so far. I'll be even happier if we can do the biz against Maribor on Thursday in the away leg.

Er, refereeing mistakes happen at every level of football - how many managers state it is a conspiracy against their team?

But, anyway, unsurprisingly, this post makes no mention or acknowledgement about how Steven Gerrard has clearly and blatantly lied about forming this opinion over a number of years.

He is an idiot, making demonstrable false statements.

Even you realise this, as much as you'll hate to admit it.

Clearly & deliberately lied.........Wise up you muppet.....a few posts back you quoted what he stated (I'm taking your word for this though as you have forms for telling porkies I may be doing the wrong thing).....
From yourself....."It's not just today, I believe it's been happening for seasons. That's just my opinion." The 2 words I have highlighted kinda shows (once again) your inability to separate fact from fiction. Unfuckingbelievable shite from the forum clown!

He is an idiot, making demonstrable false statements.
As I previously said you made your mind up about him before he even started so your opinion means heefuckinghaw....it is totally invalid.....you will never be impartial.

Making demonstrable false statements ?.....oh give me fucking strength...... I've already explained that to you in words that even you will understand AND this coming from someone who made a false (lie) statement about Ibrahimovic.....pot & fucking kettle you saddo!

Even you realise this, as much as you'll hate to admit it.
Utter bollox. I have a lot of admiration for the man as to how he has handled himself and the challenge so far. Obviously you can't even give any credit whatsoever towards him or the performances so far but no surprise as you are so far up your own arse all you spout is shite.
Have a good day.....

Why would he believe it, though? Is he claiming he has watched Rangers for several seasons before joining?

Does he believe it because someone else told him, and he repeated it verbatim?

It's obviously number 2.

Of course, no matter how much you respect or admire anyone, you can still call them out when they're talking nonsense. Virtually everyone does it, including, say, Nelson Mandala or Alex Ferguson.

Quite why you are defending Gerrard for saying something so clearly, demonstrably, nonsensical is bizarre. Why not just admit it was a stupid thing to say and move on?

Do you really think he can simply do no wrong? Even when it is clearly obvious he is wrong?

If he said the earth was flat and Rangers were the victim of an anti Catholic conspiracy, would you nod and say "top class"?

Don't make a total fool of yourself....Rangers was the victim of 'an anti Catholic conspiracy' ? Oh for fucks sake you really are wired to the fucking moon son. You don't even realise what you said there.......... Perhaps it has taken me longer than it should have but you are simply an attention seeking twat. Oh, the earth is flat....Johnny Todd said so. That being that, away and troll somebody else because sure as shit is shit you have no meaningful discussion to offer here!

Yes, I know exactly what I did by saying Rangers were the victim of an anti Catholic conspiracy.

It's the kind of nonsense I could easily see Gerrard coming out with.

Bottom line, most fans recognise when their manager is speaking nonsense (they are all guilty of it to varying degrees) except you who will blindly defend Gerrard no matter what nonsense he comes out with.

Alan Stubbs, for example, made a fool out of himself bragging about a 'marquee signing' he didn't deliver, and the guy he had in mind wasn't marquee at all.

It was a stupid thing to say and he was pilloried for it.

Doesn't mean people want him sacked, or that he's not a good manager. Just that he talks nonsense.

Did you actually fully read my last post ?....Now jog on and troll some other member. No discussion with you can have any impartial, meaningful input. You are simply an attention seeking twat! 'Anti Catholic conspiracy'....oh please.....

Good to see you haven't dealt with the point at all.

Nor do you realise that stating an "anti Catholic conspiracy" would be stating something demonstrably false (it was used alongside the Earth is flat).

I can help but find it utterly astonishing you don't realise this.

Next up - Leo defends Gerrard when he says John Greig is a demented old fool.

You truly are an idiot....you haven't a clue what you are saying. As I have said ad nauseum your opinion means heefuckinghaw, you cannot be impartial, you have absolutely no meaningful input, you are an attention seeking arsehole who for some obscure reason believes himself to be the sole holder of what is right & what is wrong and pathetically attempts to appear on a higher level than everyone else....but you certainly are not son. Again as I said previously, fuck off and troll somewhere else, perhaps somewhere you will be welcome....oh hold on a minute.

You just post the same thing over and over again.

Why won't your criticise Gerrard for making demonstrably false remarks?

Do you think what he is saying is true, or do you think he is beyond criticism,

Which is it?

Do you have to work at being obtuse or does it just come naturally ? You are not impartial, have no meaningful input towards this subject. I refuse point blank to indulge you in your idiocy. You ruined numerous threads during the World Cup due to your infantile behaviour and now you attempt to do the same to this one.

You are now getting the replies your shite deserves and will continue to receive. Once more....fuck off and troll someone else. If you reply to this post with a similar piece of crap you will be reported. I can't make it any clearer.
