So, Brazil qualify in the end with relative ease, even if they did stumble to start with. Yes, they needed some late inspiration against Costa Rica, but they comfortably beat Serbia without having to break a sweat. Are they starting to go through the gears, or are they, like a lot of the favourites, flawed and due a shock sooner or later?

As for Mexico, they were looking strong, that was until Sweden came and thoroughly embarrassed them by winning 3-0 in their final group game. It was only thanks to South Korea doing them a favour against Germany that they got through in the end. Has that heavy defeat knocked the confidence, or can they regroup and give Brazil a game?

Hard to see past a Brazil win, even if they do look a bit vulnerable at times. Reckon their extra quality will tell and see them through to the last 8. Can Mexico do it though? Can they pull off an upset and knock them out?

Well I tipped Brazil to win the tournament, but I can't go against my hermanos here, so I'll go for a shock Mexico 3 - 2 win.

I work with an arrogant Brazilian, who has claimed since day one that they will win the tournament with the kind of confidence that should be reserved for England fans in conversation with Saltire and Hugh.

As such I really hope BrazIl lose, and heavily.

Brazil team doctor said his mattress caused him to be ill or something? I didn't read the article just saw the headline on the tweet.

Edit: just looked, back injury caused by the mattress

Neymar with a tap in, acts like he's scored the wonder goal of the tournament.

well it was from open play and he didn't have to fall down in stages to claim for a penalty so he should get some credit......:cool1:

Neymar is such a greedy fucker. And why in gods name does he continually take Brazil's free kicks when Coutinho is quite clearly far better and more dangerous at them.

Mexico with an almost identical chance to that which Neymar tapped in, except for them the ball across goal wasn't as sharp. Them's the margins.

I'm sorry I've tried I really have but Neymar is a hypejob.

Rashford > Neymar and I'm being serious.

Brazil are a bunch of time-wasting, play acting pansies. It's fucking ridiculous how often the players go down like bags of shit following the most innocuous collision or foul, before writhing like a worm on a hook. I can't think of a team left in this tournament I want to lose more than them. I know such behaviour is common, but they seem to take it to new levels, helped by having the worst player in the world at it in their team.

It's not like this is anything new though. Remember Rivaldo in 2002?

With all of the hope on the other side of the draw, Brazil are still going to win the World Cup.

We'll see how France get on against them in the semis first.

To suggest England are even half as bad as Brazil is almost as laughable as Neymar's greed and play acting.

We've got Sterling and Young (who still dives but not to the level he did during his golden age).

Welbeck spends a lot of time on the floor but that's usually because he has lost control of his legs rather than dived.
