Neither of these teams particularly worry me on this showing, Columbia tonight a bigger test. Get past that and we have a great chance at the semi final.

Both teams will have watched the England games to date and will be thinking the exact same thing tbqpfh tbf.

Neither side concedes many goals and England often need a hatful of chances just to score one if they don't land at Kane.

Don't be cocky.
Nothing cocky about it, I'd rather either of these than any left in the tournament I stand by that.

Goal kind of summed up the game .

Sweden as expected held on well with some strong defending .

Maybe something for us to think about if we play them but got more attacking quality than the Swiss.

Which is a fair point. We're more of a goal threat than both, that is what will win through to the semi final. If we win tonight which is a big if.

I've tried to write something worthwhile reading regarding each of our games so far. Being the only Swede and all. For reference, I'm drunk. For further reference I'm going to get even drunker. Through the whole night. I've spent so much of my life abroad because of my line of work but never will I be happier that I happened to spend this tournament, and this night in particular, in Sweden.

Did I think I would ever see Sweden in the quarter finals of a World cup? The answer is no.

There's nine million of us. Football can be played outside for about five months a year. This generation, this group of players, is individually the worst I've seen. And it shows, to some extent. We squander chances and we make Atlético seem entertaining. But it's the only thing we can do. And to be honest and fair, we shouldn't be able to do that.

Netherlands. Italy. Germany. Switzerland. Bye bye lads, you ran into us. And I don't know how we did it. I'm confident you don't either. We just did. And here we are. And now we've got England fans saying they're not afraid of us and truth is, they shouldn't. But neither were Netherlands. Italy. Germany. Switzerland.

They all thought they got lucky drawing us. They were all right. And they were all so, so wrong.

Tonight I'm going out with a group of close friends whom I watched this game together with. We're going to bounce from pub through pub through yellow and blue shirts and there's something special with a blonde woman in the Swedish yellow and blue.

I don't know where we're headed. I know very well that whether we're up against Colombia or England we shouldn't win. We have no right to and we'll be the underdogs. But it's all we know and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Were I to choose, I'd choose England. But I don't give a fuck. I'm about to see Sweden, my Sweden, in a world cup quarter final.

And get to fuck you don't believe us!

Good luck tonight fellas, I'll watch but I won't remember it. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

I was praying that the Swiss didn't equalise. Would rather watch Chaser than another 30 minutes of that.

Epic!

I agree with Bilo that we don't have that much greatness going forward, we got Forsberg, and Toivonen who has bloomed quite late (Turned 32 today) but we got some very good players coming up.

We got Pontus Dahlberg who plays for Watford, a 19 year old keeper.
We got Niclas Eliasson, a midfield who plays for Bristol City.
We got Lindelöf in United (at the moment).
We got Alexander Isak and Gustav Engvall.

So the future looks promising.

Anyway, if we stick to our guns with what we have now, defend strongly, attack on the counter and slow the games down, we can beat England or Colombia.

Probably the easiest win Sweden will ever have at a tournament. Switzerland offered nothing, the only difference in the second half is that their midfielders actually crossed the halfway line. Nice fluke goal too as that was an awful shot haha, but probably the only way a goal was ever going to go in. Don’t usually agree with what Phil Neville says, but he’s right about Xhaka. He gets away with so much week in week out and he’s been found out over and over today, including the goal. Such a lazy, rash player. Congrats Sweden, we’ll (hopefully) see you in the Quarters.

Congrats Sweden, reallllly f*cking hoping we can meet you in the next round.

Although I must say, I don’t think you should brag about losing to Germany in the group ;)

Congratulations Bilo m8, you go out and enjoy yourself.

If we get eliminated tonight I'll be hoping Uruguay win it because I drew them in the work sweepstake - but on likeability only it would be Sweden I'd be behind.

Arsenal fans would not have been surprised by this, they see him as a liability who is unable to maintain his focus during matches.
