We've released

Sam Hird
Drew Talbot
Ian Evatt (who was interim manager)

Over 500 games between them, were there when we were good and were part of our demise. All on decent money so not too disapointed to see them go as i'd not keep any of our current players.

What is more alarming is that we have done this even though we don't have a manager so someone else is clearly making the calls and also it was allegedly done via Text Message according to Talbots missus on Twitter. Over 500 games between them for us, and we treat 3 club legends like this.

Really does sum us up, it's one thing after another with us
Now also released:

Josh Kay
Giles Coke
Dylan Parkin
Jack Brownell.

When we had Koby Arthur, he struggled to get enough power into this shooting and crossing. Barely made it off the ground.

Expect majority of the contracted players to be made available for transfer tbh...

Is there anyone you'd keep? I'm struggling to make a case for any of them other than JBW and Dennis tbf but we all know the latter will be off!

Aldershot Town have agreed new contracts with goalkeeper Jake Cole and left-back Lewis Kinsella to remain at the EBB Stadium for 2018-19.
They join midfielder Adam McDonnell and defender George Fowler in Gary Waddock’s first-team squad for next season.

That's 4 decent players signed up for next season.........hopefully a few more will renew over the next day or two.

ARTHUR JANATA (Third Year Scholarship)

Players released:

CHARLEY BARKER

TOBY STEVENSON (Second Year Scholar)

ANDREW CAMILO-TAYACA (Second Year Scholar)

Players under contract but immediately available for transfer:

JAKE CAPRICE
CHRISTIAN SCALES

ROMUALD BOCO

DAN HOLMAN, LAMAR REYNOLDS and EBOU ADAMS have returned to their parent clubs following the conclusion of their loans.

No real suprises there about who's leaving us or been put on the transfer list.

Would love us to sign Ebou Adams on a pernament deal, he was immense for us once he started playing in January, but his performances have caught the eye of League One clubs which include Portsmouth and I can't see us competing with them.

Boco wasn't a bad player and he did well on occasions for us, scored two important goals and set around 3 up I think, but I heard a few ramblings that he did mix well in the dressing room with the rest of the squad and/or that he didn't like this level of football.

Caprice I didn't mind and he has his uses going forward, he struck up a good partnership with James Dayton on our right side and set up around 8 goals for us this season, but his form badly dipped when Dayton got injured and he is a huge luxuary because his defensive awareness and work isn't good enough. JE gave him 3 months in the team, but dropped him after one two many defensive errors. Young Sam Ling still has alot to learn, but its no secret we've looked a far better side defensively with him in it.

Scales I've only watched in friendlys.

We will certainly sign at least one striker, maybe two if Bonne is sold and another central midfielder. Small chance of another full back as well. Anyone else will depend on Boco and Caprice moving on.

I was hoping we'd bin off Mooney and Harrold as well, both long since past their best and both going on 34 and 35 FFS, but its looking unlikely. The worst thing Ling did last summer was signing Harrold to a two year deal, everyone called it at the time but now we're stuck with him for one more year.

Ours has been announced

Still under contract:
James Jennings
Manny Smith
Shaun Pearson
Kevin Roberts
Sam Wedgbury
Akil Wright
Leo Smith
Nicky Deverdics

Players offered contracts (and already accepted!):
Christian Dibble
Mark Carrington
Paul Rutherford
Chris Holroyd

Released:
Chris Dunn
Olly Marx
David Raven
Marcus Kelly
Jack Mackreth
Scott Boden
Jonathan Franks

Of our players already under contract - Leo Smith is a youngster who barely played last season, we also did not loan him out for some reason; I should imagine we will be looking at doing that this season. Deverdics was brought in on an 18-month deal so has another year left - he hasn't shown enough but he was farmed out on the left wing mostly and not played in the middle as we all thought he would be...

Of the released, I can't argue with any of them really - Kelly has not been involved in too many games, whilst Boden's hold up play and passing has been mostly sound, the goals return has been woeful and I don't think many will be sad to see him go. Franks was terrible. Mackreth is a classic Conference winger - how he had managed a move to Bury in the first place will remain a mystery.

Chris Dibble was a back up goalkeeper so surprising he was offered a deal unless he knows he'll be back up again. Carrington and Rutherford will be very split among fans, personally I think both are solid players but I wouldn't want them as first-team regulars.

Don’t expect much to happen until after Sunday but so far Gregory, Holland and Higgs have signed new contracts.
Pleased with all three.

Holroyd and Carrington I’m pleased with, 2 solid pros at this level.

Kelly will pick up a club easily I suspect, he’s still a good player.

What's happened to Kelly? Hardly ever hear of him now.

Thought you might have kept hold of Boden as well. His link up play has always been superb when I've seen him albeit mostly in his L2 days with Chesterfield.

Kelly started the season on the left wing where he was completely anonymous. Started playing more in the middle towards the mid-point of the season but still didn't feel he was involved enough in most matches. Thought he was playing better in the final few games I saw but have no qualms with him being released.

i guess we may have offered Kelly reduced terms and he said no thanks. will get another team in this league and will probably be amazing.

Big things were expected of Boden but ultimately it didnt happen. Unfortunately for any striker that signs for Wrexham, they need to score 50 goals a season to even be considered OK

Boden just didn't work hard enough, fans saw this early on and were on his back the whole time near enough. There were signs of how good he can be when Quigley arrived and he played the linkman role. I reckon he'll have been one of the highest earners too so it was a no-brainer.

Need a keeper, playmaker midfielder, 1 wide player and the holy grail of a top quality striker. Some backup for the defence as well I guess. Not too much to ask surely....

Jack Makreth put in the worst performance by any player I’ve seen this season. And that includes all of the Orient ones in Autumn.

Rutherford fully deserves a new contract and I'm pleased that Holroyd has agreed a new deal too. Other forwards and creative players simply weren't good enough. Kelly was pretty decent on set pieces, but patchy elsewhere. I don't think our system particularly suited him, but he looked like a player with his best years behind him. And, as with underperformer Boden, was probably on a fairly high wage for us. Mackreth and Franks were both pretty fucking awful.

Carrington is solid cover for both full back positions and midfield, so that makes sense.
We could do with a new keeper, but Dibble did well when he played and a sensible option to serve as affordable cover with room to develop further and improve himself.

I’d put money on Franks finding his way back here next season.

Mackreth will find another Northern club to somehow take him on like always, despite having done nothing of note since about 2012.

Nailed on. He won't even need to ring us up for a trial like he did last season. We might as well add him to the first team profiles on the official site right now. Except just add in the bio that this is now his 56th spell at Pools.

Carrington is a very average player but he'll do for full back cover, whereas Rutherford has simultaneously managed to unimpress most fans and rack up 50 million assists. I'm happy he's been kept on but I wouldn't like to see him starting every game if we're looking to improve.

Of those retained, I fully expect the back 4 already under contract to remain in the starting lineup, along with Wedgbury, Holroyd and maybe Wright. Leo will hopefully find a loan move and we can look into bringing in a new keeper, a couple of new midfielders, a couple of new strikers and some defensive cover.

From what I've heard, we didn't offer him anything. You don't know me though, so I wouldn't expect you to take my word on it.

Back to Barrow would be my guess.

He's a weird one Mackreth, when he was good he was close to unplayable and you'd think he'd cracked it, then the next week he would go into his shell again and start checking back and not even try to do all the things he was good at. When he was confident and just burning full backs for pace, it didn't matter that his crossing was average at best, you knew he just keep on doing it until something happened for him. Then the other side of him was he wouldnt even try to do it, really frustrating.

Not sure we'd have Mackreth back - not popular here after agreeing and announcing he'd be signing a new contract, only to sign for (I think it was) Macclesfield.

I thought Wrexham fans were raving about Olly Marx earlier in the season?

Marcus Kelly must surely be one of the 10 players allegedly lined up by Pennock, given his FGR ties.

Martin Allen has provided an update on our current contracted players for next season...

Players under contract but available to leave for no fee...
Chris O'Grady
Jordan Sinnott
Joe Anyon
Jak McCourt
Ricky German
Marshall Willock
Alex Whitmore
Zavon Hines
Scott Wiseman
Louis Dodds

Players under contract that are part of MA plans
Kristian Dennis
Gozie Ugwu
Jerome Binnom-Williams
Robbie Weir
Bradley Barry
Laurence Maguire

MA has admitted that Dennis has turned down a new contract but will only he able to leave if a club meets his valuation. If they don't he will return to training in pre season.

I'm happy with MA's decisions on who he wants other than Robbie weir who I'll never be able to warm to as he's Just shite

Could easily have been down to KD's agent for the misunderstanding mate, I can't see why they'd have lied about that:dk:
