He’s talking shite, Sheffield Utd are the only side to have more of the ball in a game than Leeds this season. You’re probably the best side to watch in the league when you’re on it, Leeds are very effective and street wise, it’s been noticeable in the three games live how good their game management is.
Edited this Blade so it actually makes sense, was trying to type whilst riding home wasn’t very successful.

I'll try with you instead then, £100 you dont get in playoffs.?

Your giving even money when price is probably bigger with bookies.

I still don't think we'll make play offs, some very tough games remaining plus we're picking up injuries once again.
Fletcher and Hutchinson both went off injured Saturday, if they miss majority of games left then our chances are very slim.

If we did make it I'd fancy us to win it.

So you've watched 2 games, great opinion you have then, bearing in mind it's the two most cautious games we could play all year. Stop talking fucking nonsense, infact carry on thinking it.
Why was you cautious? Because you knew you couldnt play football against better teams because you would of lost heavy , so when your in the prem how do you think you will play , anti football grinding out the points , now if brentford went up they would still play the way they always play (football)

And ship five goals every week... it'd soon become not so pretty on the eye.

All very good having such principals, but I'd much rather be in 2nd place with a genuine chance of PL football, than where ever Brentford currently sit.
Don't kid yourself either, I have seen both Sufc and Brentford at Hillsborough recently and although the Derby match wasn't pretty, United played more football than Brentford did.
Much as I dislike em I don't really think the anti football tag is realistic.

You really are clueless, remember last year when man city who are one of the best in the world went to Anfield to try and play their normal way and got turned over twice conceding 7 goals, look what pep did this year, dreadful to watch but job done, it's a long season you dont just go all out attack and try and play the perfect game constantly if you wanna be successful, hence why brentford are about 15th and we are 2nd, we play some very good stuff at times which everybody on here has seen other than you.

I don’t agree with everything he’s saying about us, but saying that we’re 15th because we only play nice football (not your words, but the sentiment) isn’t really fair. We’ve got into the play offs before in this league, finished in the Top 10 every year we’ve been in this league, could easily go up next year.

For me, the thing that holds us back is not being able to keep hold of our best players, essentially our budget. We’re constantly trying to bed new players into the team, and find replacements for our best players. One of the reasons we’ve done so well over the past few years is the way we play football. In terms of performance against budget, we’re probably better than any team in this league.

If we went up, I have no doubt we’d get destroyed most weeks. A lot of that would be budget related (we’d look to save most of the extra money - would keep the club alive for an extra 10 years!) but Blackpool almost stayed up playing attacking football, and Bournemouth have stayed up a long time playing attacking football. It clearly can be done, but lots of teams have messed it up too.

Like i said now that your up every game next season you will be scrapping for points ,so you wont be this swashbuckling overlapping cbs team which judging by how you reply only works against other anti football teams so cardiff and burnley we should be seeing you playing then ?

It’s very ironic a Lincoln fan calling other teams out for dreadful football. Big Keef would be turning in his grave.

Whilst not aesthetically pleasing at times, and God knows Leeds last won a trophy playing the type of football that would have made Arsenal's George Graham teams look like 2019 Man City, football can be played to suit games, certain tactics to try and grind it out, titles are rarely won in this country by being a team that wins 5-4 every week, look at the 90s Jawdees, would you rather play well and pass it about but lose 3-2 or win 1-0 and go up? I want my team to be successful however it is achieved.

PS aren't you a Lincoln fan with a crush on Bielsa? surely the Cowley style is anti football.

PPS Could HAVE not of FFS!!!

To be fair, if we played some of the ugly hoofball football some of the teams in this league do, I probably would stop going as often as I do, even if we were a little more successful.

I also think if you do play a more ‘practical’ style, then it comes down even more to how good / tall / fast your players are, largely more about money, and that’s not a way Brentford, or other smaller clubs, can win

You're called Magpiebee, you have affiliation to two teams, I'm sure Brentford could survive without you.

Brentford's owners obviously have a philosophy for what they want from their team and manager which might mean they come unstuck in certain games but I don't think it would stop them making the play offs over a 46 game season. Like MB says, selling key players and not having ready made replacements is what sets them back.

Do you think the majority of supporters would take tippy tappy football or success? I'd suggest the Jawdees of the Keegan era would have preferred a trophy than to have been everyones second club, like wise, promotion for the Bees securing the clubs future by pragmatic football would be better than the current situation no?

I'd take Luhukay's 5-4-0 turdball if it meant success.

It certainly helps if you can do both .

Very very true.
Sheff United played some good football last season but we were predictable and had no end of game composure or management. We were almost too positive and gung-ho conceding loads of late goals getting done on the break.

Wilder has learnt from last season. Recently we played at home to Boro, first half we played some really nice tippy tally football but credit to Boro, their defense was excellent and they bullied our players. At half time Wilder brings on Gary Madine, we revert to a more direct/ punt it into the box style and the Boro defense can’t handle the presence and physicality of Madine. Not as pretty to watch but surprisingly effective meaning we thoroughly deserved our win.

Different tactics/ styles are needed to beat certain teams over a long season.

I think leeds last won a trophy being manage by an ex sheff weds manager , didnt that type of football get you up in the top flight and some decent cup runs do you mean that type of football that had lee chapman as top scorer for leeds winning a league medal the same lee chapman who was your top scorer with the same manager , no doubt you sat on your hands and didnt cheer his goals , or did you not go to the matches and watch that type of football ?
Yes i like bielsa he sticks to his guns even if 1-0 down nice football to watch .
Cowleys lower league football with players not as technical the lower down you go , it got us out of non league , but now the style is evolving the higher up we go as we can attract better players thats how it normally works
man city play pass it about football and win 3-0 5-1 6-1 most weeks and seem to do alright.

Yep Leeds won that title and fair round of fucks but ask any Wednesday fan of that era under Wilko, after a couple of seasons it began to make your eyes bleed and him going became a blessing, we became one of the most dynamic clubs in the country but we could mix it up and weren't rigid in style.

I was 7 when Wilko left, my first proper manager was Big Ron. Now off you pop.

They beat us 6-1 in a game where we decimated by injury and illness, it happens, being the oldest and most successful club in Yorkshire sort of makes your comments irrelevant now off you pop back to League Two dopey.

I think to be successful, a club has to have a good Plan B. I don’t think we’d stand any better chance of going up by playing negative football every week, quite the opposite. But the best sides can adapt to a more physical game when it’s required, and that’s something we are bad at. Partly it’s just that the more physical players cost more. We can’t afford any sort of back up striker, let alone a tall physical one.

Are you autistic?

I'm not denying Bielsa has done a cracking job I'm just stating they aren't the great entertainers you seem to believe and their football is no more dynamic than any other club, personally think Norwich are the better footballing side.

I quoted injuries/illness for a freak result in 92, incidentally we've stuck 6 past Leeds since then.

As for quoting history, football is about trophies isn't it? a yardstick, you can play all the pretty football you want but in 30 years no one will give a flying fuck if you don't win/succeed. Now please go bore folk elsewhere.

PS We're in Lincoln Saturday, feel free to wear your half and half shirt pal.

Leeds actually won title day they played Sheff Utd at bramall lane in a 3-2 win.
I think it was later in day after another result went for them.
