Don't think we'll be in this for long but I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

You've won 3 games I fully expected you too, it gives you something to build on and that winning momentum so who knows, you're next 6 or 7 fixtures don't look the easiest on paper though.

Top 11 have won at least half their games so far, compared to all 3 other leagues only the top 6 have won half their games.
Funny division this one.

Mad division, which is why I love it but we're, currently, having a little nibble so I guess we belong in this thread at the mo.
Fair play to Brentford mind!

Brentford aren’t the surprise package. They were always going to be up there for me.

Brentford will win the league, my opinion hasn't changed from pre season.

Having watched them yesterday, I can say confidently that they will finish in the top 6 minimum with a huge chance of top 2. The only way that may change is if Dean Smith does what he did at Walsall and jumps ship mid season, probably to Villa if they pot Bruce.

He may well do, and we may get bids we can’t refuse for the likes of Watkins, Mepham or Maupay in January. Lots that could go wrong.

We continue to be a small fish, and a million different things would have to line up just our way for us to get promoted. At the moment they are, but things can quickly change - we went 11 games at the start of last year winning just once despite playing really well.

Oh yeah, back when everyone was predicting you to go down; how could I forget?

Seriously don’t understand your obsession with Brentford, or me.

Plenty of posters at the time said we were being “found out” and would be set for a relegation battle. Mainly Ipswich fans after our game against them.

An obsession with you or Brentford? That's as mythical as your claim that everyone thought you'd go down. Have a word.

We have the players, but are woeful at the back and in goal. Don’t look like we will be improving the defence until January, so that’s our play off hopes gone imo. As good as anyone in midfield, or upfront on paper, but dont seem to know what we are doing most of the time. Baffles me Bruce does.

Bruce is foaming at the mouth for this to happen. Most fans are purely because it will paper over a huge crack. The owners are not going to give the go ahead by the looks of it. We’ve also lost a good keeper and replaced him with two clowns.

Is that Jorge Mendes keeper you signed no good?

He’s our second choice and has only played the cup games. From what I’ve seen, he’s nowhere near ready to handle the championship. Nyland, our first choice is not good enough either, it seems. Way too many mistakes, and no confidence to command his area. No way we will make play offs with a dodgy keeper and defence. Got more chance with a solid back 5, and not much upfront.

Must admit ,mark lad, you’re looking good. Not jealous much ;)

Yes mate it's starting to come together slowly. We could have had 5 or 6 yesterday but we were missing the clinical touch. We have Man Utd away at the weekend , and I'd never think I'd say this but I'm fairly confident we can get something up there.

From what ive heard you’ve been a bit unlucky so far this season. Exciting times, eh.

Not that wolves are anything to do with this thread, or the championship... but watched their game yesterday and they did indeed look very good.. will comfortably be top half this season I think.

I wasn't aware how poor Jiminez's record was before joining Wolves before Saturday so I still think they're a striker light of being a quality side but if he carries on as he's started then maybe not.

Felt sorry for Bonatini yesterday, never seen a player struggle for confidence so much

Comfortable season for Wolves though, probably will finish top half which would be a cracking achievement.

I like Jiminez but he does need 3 or 4 golden chances before a goal, and more often than not in the PL you can't afford to miss some of the sitters he did against West Ham and Burnley. His overall gameplay is decent though and will go for everything.

Bonatini is probably Nuno's only mistake for us. His goals were pivotal for getting us up but we should have ended our interest then. The fans are getting on his back every time he misses a golden chance and his confidence seems to be shot for it. Jiminez is just a better version of him in every way so I wasn't sure why we signed him permanently.

One thing I will say about the championship, is that it’s like football of old. It’s a lot more entertaining than the prem, and I enjoy it a lot more. The premier league is fucked. I’ll watch the odd prem game, but I watch most of the championship games when I can. Proper football.

So wide open too this season, you can pick the final top 6 from a possible 18 teams. :bg:

I know you can only take it one game at a time, but the next 4 or so games will really test whether we have any chance of competing towards the top 6.
