Beat Altrincham 6-0 Green, Kirk, Ng and Finney x 3. Very good result against a usually very competitive Altrincham.

Next up splitting our team in half for games Vs Curzon Ashton and Witton Albion on Tuesday.

Beat Penrith 4-0. Don't believe all this relegation talk, we're going up with performances like that!

I wasn't there, so I'm just assuming how we've set out from the lineup, but first half was:

Gray
Branthwaite, Duffus, NKP, Mellish
IBR, Bridge, Brunt
McKirdy, Reeves, Hope

Hope and IBR both scored in the first half, and second half we replaced all 11 players with kids (It's hella hot today) and scored another couple.

Lots of first teamers not involved at all today. I guess Pressley just wanted a better look where he felt there might be competition for places (including all three triallists, we released Miles Storey). The likes of Collin, Webster, Iredale, Elliot, Jones, Scougall and interestingly Dixon, weren't part of the squad.

Without having been there to see how he played it doesn't look hopeful for Reeves.

Beat our fierce rivals Plymouth Parkway 2-0. Lots of young lads played. Parkways ground is actually closer to my house than Home Park.

Won 2-1 at Supermarine, first half goals from McCoulsky and Allen. They got one back second half and nearly equaised at the end. Two different xi's each half inc 2 trialists.

They had FGR legend Super Stuart Fleetwood playing for them. Top man.

They weren't too bad tbf, certainly no Lincoln. Think we must have had a word pre-game or something, we've done that before so clubs know not to kick us.

Won 2-0 against Bamber Bridge this afternoon. The result has been overshadowed by the shock news that our midfielder Andy Fleming has had to retire due to an injury he sustained last season. It's come out of nowhere, he made a comeback and played 10 games at the end and everything looked like he'd made a fully recovery. Gutted for the lad.

We lost 2-1 at Stratford Town.

Sounds like we should have scored 5 or 6, but who really cares, it's the first game of pre-season.

Says the person doing the pre-season table. ;)

Shouldn't do yourself down like that mate, your work is appreciated. Everyone cares massively about pre-season results, we all wanna win that pre-season title.

Pre-season games are not important. They are just an opportunity to look at systems and new/potential players. I won't lose any sleep if we lost one.

But the 1FF league 2 forum pre-season league is the only trophy most clubs here have got a chance of winning this season.

When we beat Hereford on Weds it'll be proof we're playoff candidates this season - don't you worry.

As for the PSF table, I gave up on us winning that before I even started it.

A few years ago we had a friendly at Evesham abandoned at half-time...as apparently they wanted to be a bit more competitive than we did and it was all going a bit wrong.

Same happened at Mangotsfield a few years back, and I think at Chippenham too. Clubs know if they kick us we'll walk off and probably won't play them again. We don't take any shit lol.

The last thing you need is for an opponent thinking they have a chance to make a professional player look a mug, and do that by kicking lumps out of them...then you start your season with an injury list as long as your arm.

This might also belong in the tinpot thread, but Penrith gave the official attendance for our match against them yesterday at Frenchfield Park as 2736

Before amending it to 675

Your new away kit in action then. Looks decent, socks a bit strange though.

Think the lime green thing is a strap that's not part of the sock itself, all the players had them but McKirdy wearing his socks around his ankles like that makes it look like that's just the colour of the socks.

Better view of the socks here
