Do you think that somebody will want him? I'm not sure, I would prefer to give a chance to some prospect goalie from the youth academy than to loan him

Beat City 2 - 1. First half was poor from us, though City's kids looked promising and sharp. Second half, with the introduction of B. Silva, Sane and Mahrez - who looked good - they obviously stepped it up and looked good for spells, notably when Silva's throughball for Sane skinned VVD and he curled it in. However Mane and then Salah came on for us, and from then on it was all one-way traffic. Yep Salah's goal (think it was only his second touch) was offside; and we got a penalty at the death that the ref let play on for a bit before awarding it; but we should've closed the game out quicker than we did, and could've grabbed several other goals - and those two in particular looked like they haven't been away, they terrorised City.

Camacho, Grujic, Solanke, and the young keeper we played, looked good too.

We definitely upped the tempo, played at a decent intensity for the whole 90 and only made a few subs. With Martial going I hope we start with the 352 this season, we generally look less rigid in that system. Our full back options are average defensively (I can't believe we don't seem to be signing anymore full backs, I thought that would've been our first area to improve properly) and all our attackers are at their most comfortable centrally. Plus Sanchez will be used to it from Chile.

Davide Calabria is a talent for a Milan.

Sanchez and Lukaku would still start ahead of him. The Sanchez signing really fuck him over, although I still think a Sanchez-Lukaku-Martial front 3 could work, especially with a full pre season behind Sanchez.

I'd love for him to be loaned out for a season and then we can see where we're all out in a years time. If we sell him to another English club I'm going to need to long lay down.

Wolves lost 2-1 to Derby, not an issue although my worry is the new guy (Jonny Otto) apparently looked very right footed and yet he appears to have been signed for LWB. Big issue if our wingback isn't strong on his left, especially on the day they announced Douglas had gone to Leeds.

Yeah Castro didn't do much yesterday, although he has only been with the club for 3 days so I would cut him some slack. I don't understand why we sold Douglas though, especially for £3m.

Went to watch our 3-2 win over Celta Vigo tonight. 2-0 down at half time, so not sure whether it was their changes that brought us back into the game, or Hughes gave a legendary half time team talk.

Our defence is going to get destroyed when we actually play a good side.

However, one positive was Gunn. Never really seen him play, but his handling looked great in the warm-ups and out on the pitch. I wouldn't be too surprised if he does displace McCarthy into the season if he can bring this into a competitive fixture.
