We certainly did give it our best shot last year. Which was helped with the mighty Salford City hot favourites for top spot. I was somewhat surprised with the turnaround at Harrogate Town which was impressive.

Why Brackley 9th... #sadface.
Tbf I think the psychological toll of restarting another long season will be hard - especially as we've currently added no-one, and lost 2 of our 4 best players.

Yeah. Just feel last season was a big oppurmity for you. Not sure if you will be able to replace Aaron Williams either and I think there is a number of mid table sides last year (Boston,Darlington,Southport etc who have strengthened really well.

Can’t work out Boston, seemed to have made a few decent signings but also half of the disastrous defence that took us down last season.

Here is my view, bit better knowledge this season.
Impressed with kiddie but lost a couple of big players but got Chambers,Stockport good end of season form plus seem to of bought well,Darlo best striking pair but don’t feel strong enough in midfield and defence,Chester dark horses,Brackley are weaker,York signed well I think, but still weak at centre back and centre midfield, lot rest on Allen from Alfreton to sort back out because last season’s 3 were awful.Same with Russ Penn in centre midfield,

1. Stockport
2.kidderminster
3.York
4.Darlo
5.Chester
6.Herford
7.Chorley

Really surprised at how low some people have Alfreton. I don't think they'll win the league but can see them easily making the top 10 at least. They've got some great players at this level. I'd fancy them to make the playoffs fairly comfortably

Question is also will the money dry up before they finish there

Heath and his mercenaries have two promotions, but also one collapsed club on their record so far.

I dont think you can blame the fall of Ferriby on Heath. More to do with the Allams getting bored at Hull and then pretty much pulling the plug on NF and then Steve Foster losing interest too.

Yes he certainly wont have come cheap but Wayne is an astute chairman. Been there and done it and about to emabark on his 22nd season at the helm. He wouldnt but the clubs future at risk.

Besides I know for a fact we have received a sell on for Aden Flint`s 7m move to Middlesbrough and a windfall after Adam Priestley played for Gibraltar during the world cup qualifers twice

Is that a thing? We had Zaine Francis-Angol play for Antigua and Barbuda as well so will we be receiving money for it?

Hereford may do ok as Darlo, Blyth and Spennymoor showed in last two seasons momentum can do a lot, all depends on how many of their main players adapt to the step up.

Same with Alty and Alty interesting because like Curzon and Ashton I can see afew decent manc non league players being about, but currently to arrogant/expensive to get.

Manc non leagues players had it better than should the last few seasons with Stockport, Salford and FCUM vastly inflating the non league wage offers in this area for this level, but now FCUM are cost cutting, Salford and Stockport are looking at other more full time markets and Macclesfield who probably looked at this level and below need to look higher.

Can see some good players available come late Sept in manc area when some get realistic on options

I think Hereford are the dark horses in this league this season, they are in the category of will they or won't they step up? And being realistic how good are they as a team? Can they reach new heights?

I'm very confident that Darlo will do well - I'm not going to try and predict a table though, because whenever you look at pre season signings it seems like everybody is in for a good season which can't be so.

For us, I think we have the best striking pair in the division in Styche and Ainge, and attacking midfielder Nicholson can play up front too. It's a big season for Saunders too, who will be looking to stake a claim.

In midfield we have quality in England C international Joe Wheatley, as well as Dave Syers and goalscoring wing man Stephen Thompson. We lost Phil Turnbull and Josh Gillies but replaced with Liam Hughes and Alex Hensall and Jordan Nicholson who on paper should be upgrades. Hughes already has some good reviews from pre-season but only time will tell whether our midfield will be better, the same, or worse. It does look like an attacking midfield though.

In defence the only change from the settled defence which played the 2nd half of last season and conceded few goals is Heaton out and Burn in. Heaton really was a class act so Burn has big shoes to fill.

In goals Aynsley Pears has gone back to Middlesbrough and we've replaced with Johnny Maddison from Yeovil. Again, time will tell on whether he is as good as Pears is.

Certainly in the 2nd half of last season when Wright had put his stamp on the team we showed play off form, think the last 17 were 9-5-3 and we had a lot of difficult opponents in there as well - so I see no reason why that can't continue. However we do have a smaller squad so a run of injuries could cripple us.

One team I haven't seen given much of a mention - Nuneaton. They seem to be signing serious quality somehow so could be a proper spanner in everyone's works. On the other hand they do seem to be a bit of a basket case club.

In reality it's going to be a ridiculously tight league this year probably any from 12 or 14 clubs are looking at their squads and saying we have enough to make the playoffs. But if I was going to stick my neck out is say it will look something like this:

1. Chester
2. Stockport County
3. Kidderminster
4. York City
5. Boston United
6. Darlington
7. Alfreton
8. Spennymoor Town
9. Southport
10. Chorley
11. Bradford (Park Avenue)
12. Brackley Town
13. Altrincham
14. Guiseley
15. Hereford
16. Blyth Spartans
17. Curzon Ashton
18. AFC Telford
19. Nuneaton Borough
20, Leamington
21. FC United of Manchester
22. Ashton United

I don't think we'll top this league although I think we might sneak into the play-offs when we get some strikers in. We sold our only striker to Bury and as far as I know haven't signed anybody in that position yet. George Green signed yesterday but he's described as 'having mental health issues' and isn't a striker.

Interesting that a few on here predict us to do very well, whilst the attitude among our fanbase seems to be our signings don't add that much (and every player signed by every other club is a world beater and our club shows lack of ambition by not signing them).

I myself don't have a clue coz I ain't heard of any of them.

I think we will really struggle, I don't think we will be any better than midtable. We've lost several players including John Mills.

You'll know a lot more than me about the comings and goings at Hereford, so in a sense your probably right. I still think Edgar Street will be a tough place to visit for teams to come away with anything.

I'm looking forward to going back to Edgar Street after all these years.
