Out of their 10solihull have fax, maidstone, pools, guiseley eastleigh and torquay which are very winable at the moment their others sre tough... bromley, shots, fylde and us

But you could also flip that first bit and all of those teams would consider Solihull a very winnable or must win game regardless of recent upturn, we have Barra, Maidstone, Guiseley, Solihull, Orient and Torquay still to play, we are bobbins but on the pitch it's most definitely in our own hands.

I was actually thinking that as i popped the post on..... off the record i would rather the northern ex league clubs to stay up... bit s plit over chester , it will be funny if we send them down after the way their supporters celebrated their cup final draw at our place by taunting us from the safety of the police cordon , i must admit i will enjoy the walk to the greyhound if we do..... but i dont want them to go down!!! Am i a schitzo?

Historically a bit yes, about the same size as a Tranmere. Difficult to say Stockport are bigger than us nowadays though. Anyway, why would we be trawling around looking for a league where we'd be the biggest club? Is that why Tranmere got themselves relegated here because they weren't the biggest in L2?
No we got ourselves relegated because we appointed some clown of a manager that decided to use 60 players in a season and had ongoing feuds with three club icons.

Almost home from Hovisfax, very poor second half from us. Season is done lets just forfeit the rest of our games. I thought Hovisfax were a massive ex league club, two empty stands :bdick:

If you didn't turn up last game of the season that would be very nice. Thanks in advance

Hartlepool are the only club to have to apply for re-election more times than the Shaymen. Not a lot of people know that. They do now, I'm sorry was it a secret? :fl:
The first 3 seasons I began supporting Chester FC they applied for re-election 1960-62 and a few more since.

You've got a deal but only if we can gate crash your party. If you do need to win to go up how many tickets will we get? Many making a weekend of it and staying in Manchester.

Our next 3 are against 3 of the top 4, but from our other remaining games we have five 6 pointers. 2 wins may be enough after all.

Oh was that the game were you hardly ever came over the half way line and celebrated at the end like you had won the Champions League because you got a 0-0 against a team that only scored 9 goals in their first 14 games, a figure which we could have quite possibly doubled in that game had your keeper, who I believe has had the great sense to depart the Deva, or whatever silly name you call that lego built ground of yours this season, had the game of his life? It`s little different now believe me as you are soon to find out. If you think you celebrated wait until you see our fans when we relegate you.....that`s if there are any of you there, of course, or are those laughable spotty little kids in H Block going to turn up for their second game of the season, call us nasty names for 90 minutes, cry when Cookie celebrates yet another goal against you right in front of them, and then run as fast as their little legs can carry them as soon as the final whistle blows unless, of course, there is yet another Police cordon for them to hide behind?

You also have to play us last match of the season at our place which leads me to my question. Are you guys doing your traditional mass fancy dress this season and if so what is it ? The vid of you guys all dressed as Smurfs on Youtube was hilarious.

Boss if it happens they'll appear from everywhere, under stones, the woodwork you name it they'll be there to share the moment of glory (mind you as long as they pay it's more money for the club.)

This sounds incredibly tinpot but the person that 'organises' it keeps it a close guarded secret to himself and those in his clique only, those not in it only find out about two weeks before, it's all a bit daft really, I mean, dressing up in fancy dress for a footy match is also a bit fucking daft if you ask me but whatever, they aren't hurting anyone I guess.

As for theme, masked crooks with striped jumpers and swag bags with pound signs on would be my guess?

I can remember that first season in league football when you played us final game with promotion already assured. Great game 3-2 to you iirc. Crowd was 6 and a half thousand and quite a few locked out. Happy days. You played Man City in a league game the following season.

I very much doubt you'll go down. The bottom 3 are already gone and the final place will be Hartlepool if they get a 10 point deduction.

Yep that's the one. Was it Rod Thomas who scored a screamer for you with a few minutes left?

Might have been. I know that Spencer Whelan scored one from about 30 yards out.

Why was it "much deserved"? For myself, I've always been clear that Macclesfield did what they were supposed to do, honoured their implied contract with ALL the other clubs in the league and competed throughout the 90 minutes, and I admired them for that. Meanwhile Guisly were handed a free pass by Torquay, who thought it adequate preparation to make the 7 hour trip on the day of the game, arrived less than an hour before kick off and put in a disgraceful, and DISHONOURABLE first half performance that meant the game was, in truth, all but over at half time. If any relegations can be described as "much deserved" it will be Torquay's and Guisly's (who would otherwise have gone down 2 years ago) when they are officially confirmed a few weeks from now. :bdick:

I`m not one for fancy dress myself I admit, especially at football where I tend to think individuals who do it are somewhat odd (such as the Fylde fan who turned up at our place on Boxing Day in a bright green sprout patterned suit with green trilby to match) but when it is a large number of people all in the same themed get up it looks quite good sometimes. That smurf one for example. The faces on some of the bystands on that vid when a load of smurfs got off the train was priceless. I asked the question because we were talking about it at the match the other week. and we were wondering whats this year`s plan was.

Still bitter then?
