We’re 3 games in!

But what a terrible start and what a terrible crowd. Not looking good.

That was fucking awful, it was like a performance from last season, Bates must think this is Champ Man 98 or something, 3-4-3 formation, we got totally overran in the midfield and Ebbsfleet took their one chance and scored, gotta change it for Tuesday.

We had chances to score first half, Davies missed the target twice, McLaughlin missed the easiest of headers in the second half from about 6 yards out and the big fat get in goal pulled off a great save minutes after they took the lead.

Ebbsfleet passed it around well but and they all looked confident on the ball, but they rarely troubled Loach who had a quiet afternoon, that Shields (?) fella who was playing wide left looks like a proper player, had Richardsons life all game.

We last finished in the bottom half of this league in 1986.

It therefore looks like Still has built the worst squad in over 30 years. We look miles away from the top 7, and played like an an NL South side today.

For players with significant EFL experience, Byron Harrison and Medy Elito look like genuinely atrocious signings.

If it continues, how long do you reckon before the owners turf him out? Would they panic?

Have I mentioned on here how much I hate Ebbsfleet?

Couldn’t go once again but sounds like we wasted so many chances. We’ll never get promoted out of this fucking league. Crap crowd as well.

Nearly got an undeserved win out of that, we are not a terrible side but we are just shocking at home and today we put in a rather lazy overall performance IMO. We always seem to start games slowly, our midfield again always gets overun - as soon as I saw Barrow were more of a passing side I knew they'd cause us problems.

Barrow a much improved side from last season as I thought, with lots of gamesmenship thrown in as well. But despiet these improvements I still thought they were very suspect in defence, not sure how we found so much space for our second goal.

Conceded from a long throw at the end, Dean Brill in no mans land a draw in the end was about right again as in the second half we did improve, despite switching off god knows how many times.

First questionable ref I've seen this season, he nearly lost control in the first half and denied Barrow a stonewall penalty I thought in the second half.

From our perspective, we badly need a better central midfielder and striker to assist Bonne.

It's hard to say. If it does continue, we're looking at late September or early October. I suspect we may grind out a few results to put us in mid-table but I'd be genuinely shocked if we mounted a serious play-off challenge now. Still has dug himself an enormous hole with his awful transfer activity. He's already been told that he will need to sell before he can bring anyone in but I wouldn't trust his judgement on any more signings right now. Of his 11 signings, two look dreadful, two are injured, one looks below par, two inconsistent, two look okay but not great, one is a backup GK and one is a U23 striker.

I can honestly say I've never heard of anyone in that side. :ds:
And your point is? That side currently has a 100% record without conceding a goal so I don't think it really matters whether you've heard of them or not does it:woo:

Three strikers upfront and none of them know where they're supposed to be playing, it's barmy, I said it after Tuesday's game, Muir is a poacher, he's wasted playing on the right hand side of a front three.

Only bright spark out of today was Kioso, what a player we have here, no way will he still be a Pools player at the end of this season, far too good.

Honestly? You've never heard of Marc Antoine Fortune even? He's been around a bit ;)

And Davies sounded like he got a bad injury. We are most definitely jinxed, we’re all condemned to a lifetime of misery

That pretty much corresponds with what I heard on the radio - does sound like you rely on Bonne to dig you out a lot.

On our defence, we had a kid back there who I think has only trained once with us, and a guy who's stepped up two divisions - I think that is our weakness at the moment but will improve.

Ref sounded like he was shite for both sides.

Just pleased we are holding our own so far this season, given we were (this forum's) favourites for the drop. Hopefully a few teams underestimate us this season.

What the fuck is happening to my football club. This is such a ridiculous waste of money, talent and time.

I’m currently more worried about the future of the club than I ever have been before.

That was dire - other than the first 15 minutes when their keeper made a decent save from Wanadio and Agyepong hit the post, we were toothless.

I know its only 3 games, but we're in serious trouble this season. I genuinely dont even know where our goal is likely to come from.

Not looking forward to Tuesday at all!

How’s Robson looked at CB? He was the one I was gutted to lose. Did very well for us.

I know he scored today but Adams is meh

Great result for us today, although we looked better with 10 men. Salford players like falling over

Beyond the gamesmanship, did they actually look like a side with players on half-million contracts? We go there on Tuesday for our most local away game of the season, and I think whether we treat them as some sort of "scalp" or not, it'll look a lot different to our easily sussed opposition in the last three games.

Regarding the game today, we were by far the better team after an edgy first 20 minutes, but I can see Braintree causing many a problem for teams in this league away from home in terms of breaking them down...

Hard working side, but offer very little in the final third. If they can rectify that they'd be a decent little side.

Happy to continue with the 100% record and we now head to Barrow Tuesday night. A win there would set us up nicely for Salford away next Saturday!

Robson is fine. Adams is "meh" but he's far from the biggest problem with our team right now. Sparkes is slow and mostly ineffective, Cousins has let a couple in so far he should have done better with. Boucaud did well in pre-season but is now injured.

I wouldn't go that far, we just about deserved the win but it wasn't a great watch. Today was the kind of game i expected to see down here, i.e. low on quality and entertainment.

Not going to complain and will always take the win, especially after watching us lose for two years relentlessly. Good to get off to a decent start so there is non of that getting used to this league shit but a start is all it is.

Just because we weren't great doesn't mean we weren't by far the better team... Braintree we're very poor after that first 20, and we stepped it up second half.

We obviously can play a lot better than that, but I'd still say we were far and away the better side today

True but i'd still have to disagree, we were good enough today, no more.

Anyway on to Barrow, i'm sure Evo will be desperate to get one over on us.

Speaking to his mother in law, I know he's desperate to. Thinks he was very poorly treated by Carson and gang, and probably was. Told he wasn't needed anymore by text message. So yeah he's desperate to beat us

Yeah, sounds about right. He's made a decent start with them to be fair, it'll be another test.

With the football that’s being dished up by Still’s charges, we aren’t going to be!

Well last season we had 10 home defeats playing the most shocking football ever, was amazed we managed to average 3.5k which is just a bit less than our last football league season. People still turned up, god knows why but they did, back your club, get to games!
