So we're off to the seaside for the Plastic Souse Derby at Southport, looking to extend our decent start to the season. Gateshead have a tricky fixture at home to North Korea, and Dagenham could go top with a win if Tranmere lose. Lincoln are away at Maccs, hoping for "Trialist H" to continue his hot run of form. The FGR fan has a long trip to Kent to face Maidstone, and at the other end of the table, Guiseley, still in pursuit of a first point, entertain Bromley. Now for a recap of some of the weeks headlines...

Warm welcome for Boreham Wood's media team at Gateshead:

Chortle. Good stuff.

Would take four points from the Macc and Gateshead Bank Holiday.

The question is whether Southport are bad enough for us to lose this game. If they play well we will batter them #Tranmerelogic

It's the McCombe derby at the Moss Rose where we host our good friends from Lincoln, a team that we share more than just a league with. I think a lot of our early optimism has been lost after the poor showing at Sutton last week but we're yet to drop any points at home so far this season so it should be a close game. I'd go for a 1-1 draw but I think we're capable of a win given that Lincoln have been a bit inconsistent so far and how well we normally do in this fixture.

McCombe will be on the bench for us unless someone gets injured in training. Rhead is back but I think he'll be on the bench with a view to starting on Monday. Wood sits out the final game of his 3 match ban. We're due a CM signing this week at some point.

We'll concede, but we've scored 14 in 5 and look good going forward to be fair. We create quite a lot from open play and look ok from set pieces, too.

I've not been to Macc since we beat them 1-0 in 2008, which was Chris Sutton's first away game. Rene Howe with a penalty. Planning on being there on Saturday, though! Can't wait to get on that long, winding road for 2+ hours...

Big weekend for us. Two winnable games in York (A) and Chester (H).

Judging by what I've seen on here I'm guessing the majority of you want us to do well in our double header against the vegans and FC 1984, I'd take a draw against both tbh

We'll definitely have more then 1 there. Hopefully similar to Boreham Wood.

Can't Torquay just give us the 3 points now and save us the travel?

Perfect weather to visit Torquay though!

I have no clue what we'll do.
Could well lose at home to Bromley then go batter Tranmere away. Or stick to form and lose both by the odd goal in five!

I'm confident if we play near to our maximum, then the three points will be coming back to Lincolnshire, our starting XI looks stronger. Especially with Rhead back.

I don't think Hawkridge will start away from home against decent opposition. Really liked the look of Anderson, quick, direct, decent final ball and he actually has a brain. Got a few decent options for once and I think we'll get a positive result.

If we don't get three points at home to Woking, I'll start to seriously worry. But of course all bad runs end eventually, unless they're ours.

Flinders out as you may have seen elsewhere, but in all probability he'd have remained dropped in any case.

We'll beat Woking 2-0 and then scrape a point at Wrexham, having been in the lead. 4 points probably the bare minimum.

Got a bit of a bad feeling about this one based on not a lot other than reports of Stones playing OK and us still not quite clicking. So I'll be proved wrong and we'll stroll home by three on the carpet.

Furby at home for us, so we would be able to extend our 100% home record and put a couple of dodgy results behind us. Bellamy, Fenelon and Cole should all be back so nothing more than convincing win will do.

Looking forward to this one - big numbers, short distance, team on a roll. Could be a fun away day, all fingers crossed!

Southport is the only one of our local games where Tranmere fans can have a day out, so I'm looking forward to it. Southport gave a good account of themselves in the Merseyside derby last season and I'm expecting another tough encounter this time around, despite the Ports poor start.
Hope Southport can make a few bob out of this game and strengthen their squad.

I would be stunned if Southport got anything against Tranmere. Cannot emphasise too much how poor they were on Saturday.

I'd be absolutely stunned if we kept it to less than a 4 goal defeat. This week we've also got rid of our assistant manager, and I have no faith in Bishop being able to coach and organise our shambolic defense on his own. The fact that we'll probably be outnumbered by 2:1 at home will just make matters even worse.

Never underestimate Tranmere's ability to turn a supposedly easy game into an incredibly difficult one!

The way we've been playing his year I don't expect anything at Dagenham. Maybe a public embarrassment on tv? Then again they got thumped by Chester so how good can they be really?

Are this Braintree side any good at all? They were crap at our place at the end of last season, but they were sat in about 3rd in the league. Home game, so should be winning by one, and then losing on Monday.

Judging by our match against them they're okay once they get going, but that didn't happen until about the hour mark, and we should have really put ourselves out of sight by then.

You've got to throw in a bad result every now and then to appreciate the good ones.

Hope we win but draw would be my guess.

Weve sold our allocation for sunny southport despite being given extra tickets it looks like being a bumper payday for the sandgrounders and hopefully 3 points for the rovers roared home by what could be up to 2000 visiting supporters

I've heard that Sutton are better than Maidstone and they were the best team we've played thus far. It would be a bit ingenuous to say I'd take a point, because we ain't going to be that good. We've got 3 strikers of whom 1 is suspended and 2 injured. Our manager in his wisdom hasn't bothered to bring a loanee in and will play 5' 6" Craig Mahon as a target man. My thought are focused on Monday when I'll be optimistic that we'll bury our Woking jinx. Woking have been very, very lucky over the past 5 meetings and luck eventually runs out ......doesn't it?
