Might get a nice 3 week break from the league in November then as we play Mansfield the week after the FA cup weekend which is international weekend.

More than likely, One player has already been called up for games that weekend. Sweeney is an Ireland U21 regular so sure he will unless he gets injured and Pearce is a Barbados regular now.

Annoying as we’ve booked an early train back from Birmingham that Saturday morning as we are down Friday night so we can get back to the pub for 11. Going to be up and hungover for nothing now

We could really do with playing this - going to have two games in hands, we need wins ASAP!

That being said without Pearce and Sweeney in defence it’s understandable.

Put some reserves out then you fannies. We've had half our defence out injured for most of the season so far and struggled on.

It's the right decision, but still it's annoying given we can't win for toffee and it'll be another game in hand.

East Didsbury and Chorlton Vs Irlam it is then - will knock some numbers off the game on a Tuesday

At least we won't see Flitcroft superdraw another side into a 1-1 hiding

Hilarious from Mansfield, one of those 3 has played 47 mins this season. It’s only the fact that 2 of those are in the same position that you’ve cried for it to be off.

Played on the rules, fair play, but I didn’t think you’d be running from us of all people.

Tbh you're correct - Grimsby are the exact type of dross we could do with playing for a confidence boost, but we did it 3 weeks or so ago so it's no surprise - just a shame it was announced so late.

Mansfield have a history of postponing our games when we have won some and on a roll.

Plenty of Town fans were not going on Saturday because of the way we were treated last season by the police, add it being all ticket and was a 13:00 kick-off. ifollow were showing it too.

Now it'll be a Tuesday most likely, even less will travel.

It's probably what the police want - normally we travel alright to your place, but not many will at 1pm on NYD, as sure as hell won't be.

What happens when you get a very small number of idiots on each side and then the police go OTT

We already have two long term CBs out, and without Pearce/Sweeney we would have to play Mal Benning and Haydn White (both full-backs) or Gibbens who has played once or something in his entire career. Actually even Haydn White is out injured at the moment, so it's totally understandable.

Anyway, you'll get to play Mansfield twice this season one way or another, so no need to get noncy about it.

Exactly same reasons I won’t travel to Grimsby. Our local Police forces are as inept as they come when dealing with Football fans.

We’ve not only got our 2 first choice centre backs out, Bishop will be suspended aswell so it’s the right call for us.

Our game at Cheltenham is off as well for the same reason. It didn't do us any good when we had a rest the other week but we should have 4 or 5 injured players after this one.

You can bet your bottom dollar that if we'd have lost our last 2 games, rather than won them both, they wouldn't have postponed the game.

You are talking shite, I guarantee you we would have postponed this whoever we were playing in whatever run of form just like the Crewe game.

The Crewe lot did not have a problem, why do some of you lot? Very strange behaviour.

It's pretty simple - we have no cover at defence and two of our three CBs that start every game are on international duty. It's a fair decision that any team in this league would take in the same situation.

It didn't do us any good either mate, our next game was Exeter I believe and that's our only lost thus far and alongside the Bury performance our worst this season.

Was hoping we did not need to postpone this but Sweeney is a U21 regular and Pearce is Barbados star player apperantly.

No need for the insult, it's just the late timing that puzzles me somewhat.

The international break has been planned for a long time and squads known for a while but when we were losing 6 games on the trot there was no request from Mansfield to postpone the game.

Now we've won 2 on the trot, all of a sudden you want to call the game off!

The international squad's were confirmed on Thursday and Friday, weren't they? So it's hardly late timing. Grimsby fans making more of this than required imo.

I’m just pleased I hadn’t told my lad we were taking him to this or he’d be gutted to miss it, his Birthday is the day before so we were gonna surprise him by giving him the ticket on Saturday morning.

Saves us having to fork out £34 quid for an adult and kid ticket I suppose, robbing twats.

The positive for us is that Embleton would have missed this as he’s playing for England U20’s and he’s been even our our most consistent player for the last few games.

Like I said the fact you’ve won two on the trot has nothing to do with it, It’s pure conjecture.

Our media team was not sure if Pearce was even called up on Saturday, the club/Flitcroft whatever have not sat down and thought ‘Christ Grimsby have won two on the trot let’s cancel it’ that’s ridiculous to even think.

International squads were finalised Friday I think, Sweeney was called up on Friday anyway so it’s not been done late either

I’m sure we will win/draw at Field Mill anyway, although we have not got a chance in the away fixture :)

Im sure there’s some sort of deadline that a club with players away on international duty has to have a request in by to postpone a game.

We’ve moved on from the Conference years when we accidentally forgot to turn the sprinklers off before our game in 2012/13 ya know :cool1:

It was a very wet day in Mansfield that day! ;)

We then ended up playing them in the middle of a 12 game winning run

Even then we still should’ve won the rearranged game, well on top for 60 mins until the fat lad came on and changed the game.
Second goal was an absolute peach though.
