To make things worse is Bishop is out for a few weeks, White has to come off and our bench was already full of youth graduates. Tricky few weeks coming up.

We all knew last season that Logan costs you points. Should have brought a new one untill the injured one is fit again.

The problem with assessing Logan properly is his weight. When assessing Logan, am I finding evidence of his goalkeeping being poorer than other keepers or evidence which confirms my original bias i.e. he is overweight, therefore he cannot be a professional keeper?

I'd like to see some stats, or maybe someone could provide a reel of goals conceded by Logan/Bobby so we could make a better informed judgement.

I want to back Logan rather than write him off. However, I am very concerned at the second half performance, it was terrible through every unit of the team. What I do know is that Logan appeared to be beaten very easily at least once in that second half.

We also don't know if Bobby will be any good when he returns. It was a bad injury.

Daylight robbery of a victory, we was well worthy of a draw in the second half I thought as we just went for it, but Mansfield royally fucked that up at the end and we somehow won it with the last kick of the game.

First half we was again not good enough from us, can't deal with balls over the top of our backline into spaces and gave away two careless penalties. Our defense wasn't making those sort of rash mistakes all of last season. We had a few chances but nothing seemed to go in and we again struggled to use possession effectively.

Second half Ross went for it, no doubt as he went 4-3-3 and Malvin Benning missed two golden chances to make it 3-0 and the game would've been finished. Instead we piled on the pressure with Louis Dennis causing Mansfields backline alot of problems, we get one back, Angol then gets us level with a bit of luck which I thought would've made the result fair, but a tad flattering on ourselves.

Jordan Magure-Drew - Comes on in the 91st minute and snatches the winner on a counter attack with the last kick.

Over the moon with the win, but it still papers over our cracks, fingers crossed this can give our squad a massive confidence booster and we might actually be able to impose ourselves better in games at the start.

Not sure what to make of Mansfield, clearly the stronger side for about 55mins and played some effective football, but the second half I thought they was shit and wasted a few oppotunities and the subs Dempster made didn't seem to help them. Also to lose the game like that on the counter attack was criminal, no need to push so many men forward i thought.

I still can’t get over how thin our squad is at the moment, most of the bench had hardly played a senior game! That’s where the excuses stop for Dempster though, I hope he knows his tactical decisions lost those points.

He looks like a deer in the headlights and he’s gotta learn quick.

We literally won a league title 6 games ago.

And? It’s the conference.

The self destruction we put in last night was a shambles, the game was there for the taking and some - our rookie manager imploded, I just hope he can learn from that performance - were in massive problems otherwise.

Conceding 5 goals at home to morecambe and orient? - if that doesn’t set alarm bells going nothing will.

And? Whatever the level, it’s unlikely to make us short on confidence.

Pleased that ikkle old us managed to get one over on one of the big boys of the division. It’s the stuff dreams are made of.

Oh it’s hardly ikkle orient - been much higher and done better things than us over the last 20 years it’s just a projected resemblance on where the clubs are currently.

Should mansfield have expected to win last night? Absolutely - especially given where the 2 teams are expected to be - it’s not condescending - but it also has no resemblance over things like you being top over league 1 before that fuckwit of any owner took you over for instance.

The bookies rightly had Mansfailed down as favourites before kick off, but they clearly choked and this seasons apparent defensive issues haven't gone away following one clean sheet.

E10rifle just be glad Orient went to the cauldron that is Field Mill with its intimidating atmosphere and over 4000 in attendance and came away with a miraculous 3 points.

I don’t understand the sensitivity, you won.

Top post, pretty much completely agree with everything you've said, tactically we didn’t handle the pressure you started to build and our goalkeeper should not be a professional footballer because he’s capable of what happened for your second once or twice a game.

Came in here to do my Mansfield drawing bit thinking it had ended 2-2. Didn't realise they'd lost!

We’re capable of all sorts of things.

Serves me right for mocking Grimsby when 2-0 down to Colchester when we were 2-0 up against orient - you got a point and we didn’t.

Got what I deserved there :ohm:

Genuinely think we are closer to relegation than promotion. Worrying shades of our near neighbours from last year thus far. It's all well and good spending money on players, but our record with managerial appointments is absymal.

That’s ridiculous, we look incredibly dangerous attacking but woefully weak at defending - County were shit at both, although I do agree re our managerial appointment history.

Stop being a drama queen, give it time.

I can’t say we look anything close to promotion so far - 2 home games against morecambe and orient should be harnessing 4 points at a bare minimum - to gain 1 and concede 5 is farcical.

We’re only 5 games in and things can change and settle down, I’m not convinced though.

Getting a new midfielder in and getting Logan out would be helpful to our cause

I’m debating the Notts County comparison, nowt to do with promotion.

Oh. Haha. We’re in a completely different situation on that basis, hard to see how things could go as bad as that shitshow. Our fans do have the ability to be dramatic mind.

Stevenage is a big game already.

We did have a few really nice passages of play yesterday although it's not much of a consolation.

I think one thing we can all learn from last night and its something I thought a week before this game, is that both of our rookie first team managers/coaches will need to learn quickly if they're to stay in their respective jobs for long - Both have come across as naive so far at times.

Ours is only an Interim position though due to circumstances of course.

I only said 'shades' in my defence. I don't think we will go down, however if we make no signings and keep the current manager we will be bottom half imo.

Fair enough but Dempster will make signings, and he can only improve really, let’s see where we are 10 games in because it’s too early right now.

What has actually happened with the defence though, seriously? It was rock solid last year. Can't all be to do with Logan, surely?

No midfield unfortunately, fitness is an issue, the defence don’t trust Logan as he’s basically big, fat, won’t come out for crosses, can’t command his box - bobby olejinik will be back soon - it can’t come soon enough - most Mansfield fans have had their full with Logan and his many, many mistakes

He’s the biggest factor, the defence are that untrustworthy of him that they are getting in to trouble instead of going back to him, to be fair Logan has a habit of passing it to opposition players too.

Pearce, Sweeney, Preston have all been playing below average too, so it’s definitely not all Logan, but the size of him is clearly hindering his ability to do his job - he should either take it seriously or retire.

Side note, and Indian Dan will not want to hear this but what a job Flitcroft did moving to a back three and making it the best defence in the league™️ last season, for all his downfalls he deserves credit for that.
