Probably end up with Gary Rowett if Gomes is sacked.

Don't think he will be sacked just yet. Will probably still be in charge when we play Preston at home after the international break.

Hopefully we can make it two casualties in a row.

That shouldn't be too difficult. Just score an early goal and then we will spend the rest of the game passing it around the back and any easy chances we do have will be missed.

Feel for Stendel... Everytime they get a decent player come through the club sell them on for a decent profit and the manager is expected to replace him with half or a quarter of the money they sold him for. Not sure what they expect?

The supporters are livid. First time I’ve been pissed off at a manager leaving since Wilson to Wednesday 20 odd years ago.

Looks like Gomes is going to be sacked sometime in the next 48 hours with Mark Hughes replacing him. Thats us heading to league 1.

He usually does alright for a bit at clubs but can't remember when he last managed at this level. You'd be better off with Rowett.

The problem for Reading, Millwall and Barnsley is that the Sunderland job has just come up which is going to be more appealing than all 3 of those.

Dunno, the prospect of the takeover means you may think twice as the new owners could want their own man.

True enough.
Just think, as an out of work manager looking at those four vacancies, most would fancy the Sunderland one above the others.

Kevin Muscat has thrown his hat into the ring for the Millwall job. Horrible human.

I'd be happy with Mark Hughes. The return of Nigel Howe earlier this year, who was CEO during the Coppell and McDermott era, means we've got an experienced head to direct the next course of action. As a result, I'll think we'll keep it safe and not appoint another unknown like Jose Gomes. Hopefully they'll take a chance on Ainsworth.

Sunderland can potentially establish themselves in the Premier League within a few seasons, the other three probably can't. Any ambitious manager would go for the Sunderland job out of the current vacancies.

I feel for anyone linked with Hughes.

Ainsworth is having success but I have heard that his style of play is just pump it forward. Sounds more suited to Millwall.

He's a horrible c*** but we love him at Wolves. Norwich still sing about us to this day about when he broke Craig Bellamy's leg nearly 20 years ago. Didn't he end Mark Fish's career for you also?

Edit, might have been another Charlton player. He nearly ended so many players careers I can't remember who it was.

Matty Holmes in the 90s. Yep, completely ended his professional career.

'Loved' is a bad word to use in hindsight. We liked that he was passionate but a lot of the injuries he caused were horrific like you say. Thug is probably a better word. I remember having his name on the back of my first Wolves shirt but being a kid back then you I didn't really understand the controversy of it all.

On paper, but didn’t Grayson leave you lot for Sunderland? He’s now at Blackpool.

Anyway, paper chat is that Rowett not interested in the Sunderland job coz he doesn’t want to drop down to L1 level.

Cahill also interested in the job.
