Deserving of its of match thread because we've played each other every season bar 4 in the last 25 years, its good to be back with this annual fixture

Recently puchased that ground hopper app, my stats from that inform me that apart from my own team, Carlisle is the second club side I've watched the most - currently at 29 times.

It will be Carl Fletchers first home game in charge, the most disappointing thing from our loss on Tuesday was that we failed to use the possession we had effectively. We'd been scoring alot of goals recently and on Tuesday we just simply froze in front of goal and passed side ways too often, created nothing and got punished.

Carlisle's form has been really poor, but we are there to be got at. Our whole team needs to tighten up as a whole, because we've got one of the worst goals against in the league. Unless Fletcher can rectify this, we will still be in for a long season. We're still going to need 2 possibly 3 transfer windows to offload some of the non league players we have left.

Does seem like we've played you a lot, I remember there was a phase of really high-scoring games in League One, we beat you 5-0 I think or 5-1 but then you beat us 3-1, 4-1 and then 5-1. Could be another of the latter.

Who knows, it could be a double managerial debut. Unlikely though, we're not likely to change manager unless things get really desperate, and in any case we'd have probably acted yesterday if the Tuesday night game was going to be the final straw.

The thread about summer signings has brought home just how badly we've done. Not the quality of the players so much but just how badly they've gelled. That we're at the stage of the season where fans can start talking about who their top signings are yet watching us you'd be forgiven for thinking it was still the opening couple of weeks. Players still look like they haven't found their feet and over the past month Pressley has started swapping and changing.

I’m going to this. My second away match of the season and have to say I’m dreading it. Only going because the train tickets were purchased about 5 weeks ago before we turned really really shit.

We really should get beat comfortably. We are utterly shite, worse than I even imagined we’d be at the start of the season and we will go down if we don’t sack pressley. There is little to no fight at all in this team, so easy to beat.

Just have this gut feeling tomorrow will finish 0-0. I can’t bring myself to wedge a load of cash on the Orient win because of this feeling. Again this Is probably another classic case of me being overly optimistic as usual and we’ll get humped 5-0.

We didn't make the most of a very dominating first half in terms of possession, like Tuesday night we didn't get enough shots out and the final ball wasn't good enough. Frustrating as Carlisle were very poor I thought, defended valiantly with everyone back at times though.

Second half from our perspective we started slowly and was duly punished, we ran out of steam after putting alot into the first half and Carlisle's formation change caused us problems. Asking 35 year old Matt Harrold to play 3 times in a week caught up with him and we was left with no recognised striker on the pitch - Fletcher didn't bother bringing Alabi on which shows to me that he will be moved on.

Draw was a fair result, we could've lost that in the second half. Carlisle were awful though in the first half - Put in a much, much better second half though.

Missed oppotunity for us though, because if we're going to be that intense in a first half we need more than a penalty to show for it, because in the end we didn't win. At least next week Wilkinson will be back and Lee Angol is only a few weeks away.

The trains were absolutely fucked in the middle of the country last night with the rain. Took me an age to get back, stuck in Nuneaton then Stafford for about an hour each with other trains, then dumped in Preston with thousands of others at about midnight as the trains all terminated. All hotels full, taxis only willing to go Glasgow for the big fares. Eventually got home at about half 3 (would have been half 4 if not for the clock change).

Anyway to the match. Alarm bells started ringing when I saw the team sheet. Pressley really has lost the plot. 3-5-2 with 2 wingers as the 2. Utter fuckwittery from this jambo c***. That was one of the worst halves of football I’ve had the misfortune of seeing. Totally done down the flanks all half. The penalty was soft imo but a 1-0 lead was the least Orient deserved. Second half we changed to 4-3-3 and we looked much better. Thought we were more likely to go on and win it, wasted some good opportunities to make better use of good situations. McKirdy and Thomas just needed better decision making. Draw a fair result overall.

The worrying thing is Pressley’s post match, we were amazing apparently. Fuck off! We switched from our ‘preferred formation’ apparently. Honestly the guy is a clown. I’ve had enough of him, I just want him gone. If a defeat would have seen him sacked then I think I’d have preferred it than this point. A point that will see him stay in the job for another few weeks at least and probably knocked out of the cup by part timers on national tv.

Well that sucks

How on earth did you get back to Cumbria?! I knew the trains were bad, but didn't realise they all stopped at Preston. Shambles, sorry to hear this!

Most trains terminated at Stafford as that’s where the flooding was. Everyone at Stafford piled on to our train and a couple of other trains that were given the go ahead to go through the floods at 5mph. They finished at Preston because the drivers were out of time.
We literally had to wait at Preston station until there was no one left who wanted to go to Glasgow for the taxis to actually agree to take us to Carlisle. They all wanted the bigger Glasgow/Edinburgh fares. Greedy bastards.

3-5-2 with 2 false 9's is quite a popular formation especially in Europe these days to be fair to Pressley. He's clearly a modern sophisticated sort of coach.
