You won't be able to use it as standing if you do go up I thought? Or would the 3 season rule apply?
I thought the 3 year rule only applies if your ground wasn't all seater at some point.
We put some SS in years ago (pre development and were not allowed to use it as the area was previously seated. I assume the same will apply to the Shrews.

We've got one of the original campaign for safe standing people on our club forum (very clever fella) and he confirms they can use it.

'Theirs in indeed an all-seater ground, but it does not have to be so by law.
A ground is required by law to go all-seater only after the club has played for 3 seasons at Championship level (since 1994) and is about to start a 4th.
Shewsbury haven't played a single season at that level in that period. They simply chose to build an all-seater ground when they moved from Gay Meadow 11 years ago.
As they are not governed by the all-seater rule, they can - under current policy - install the rail seats and use them as standing accommodation for 3 years in the Championship'.

Couldn't you have just not locked them in the standing way? My understanding is that htey get locked up for standing and take the bolt out if it needs to be seating (like European games) or have I got that all arse about face.

I suppose we could have done that Matt but it was in an area we didn't really use and was due to be demolished so it was more a PR exercise for the safe standing campaign as far as I know.
It was a small area of seating, to the right of the current away end and is long gone.
I do agree that if they're not locked then they're seats but we couldn't use them anyway. I would imagine it was more for the rugby chaps that wanted to stand up rather than let us uncouth football mob use it.

Thought it was a 2 year rule? Burton’s chairman certainly seemed to think so, as he wasn’t looking forward to spending the money if they stayed up.

Rotherham will you be playing in your sexy new home kit like you did for the 2010 league cup final?

I’m actually a little jealous after seeing our new kits, they are horrific this year with the wavy lines that look like... *content removed - no need for that*

Rumours going round we might actually be playing in 1 of our away kits for commercial reasons which would be a disgrace.

That would be a disgrace, you are Red & White for crying out loud there won’t even be a kit clash.

Let’s hope your Chairman sees sense and sends em out in their home kit, hated seeing you in grey against Leyton Orient but then again that one wasn’t your choice.
