Is he? His record would suggest otherwise. Saying that, when I asked someone about what type of player he is they said he’s not even a footballer he’s that bad.
As one of youth team products, when he scored twice against then PL Villa a lot of our fans thought he was some sort of messiah.

Didn't this happen last year, when Carlisle were doomed to drop and then they were near the top for the first few games?

Plenty of time and plenty of players still available and as usual I expect Carlisle will be fine.

This time last year we had a competent league 2 manager and although we were weak in terms of numbers we still had some genuine proven players at league 2 in likes of Jamie Devitt etc.

Hope is our only proven player we have left and we’re selling him.

You looked pretty poor earlier last season when we won at your place, but when you came to ours after Pressley had come in you battered us. Looked like he'd got you playing some good stuff.

Announce Pogba. Please.

I've had enough of hearing and reading so much shite about him all the time. Press are obsessed with his Man Utd saga, boring as fuck.

Could be Pogba. However, Neymar hasn’t turned up for training with PSG. Now, I might be putting 2+2 together and getting 5, but you never know..

We battered you 1-1.

Oh we play some good stuff under Pressley. Loads of passing football, problem is the pass pass passes leads to nothing as we simply didn’t have the required quality in the final third. Hence our relegation battle form and fall from 4th to 12th or whatever it was under Pressley.

It will be like that this season but with even less quality.

You were by far the better side though, played some great stuff. Not Pressley's fault your strikers seemingly couldn't hit a cows arse. As Cooper always says, you can coach players great build up play and to get themselves in position, but you can't put the ball in the net for them.

Looking back at the stats from that game you had 54% possession, 22 shots, 11 on target v 9 shots and 2 on target for us, plus 10 corners to 5 and our keeper was motm by a country mile. And you were the away side ffs. It was definitely a battering and a huge improvement from what I saw earlier in the season. You don't play that type of football without some decent coaching taking place. Maybe Pressley isn't as useless as you keep insisting, definitely tries to play the right way.

Is that really an indictment on Pressley as a manager though? He did come in with only two weeks left of the January transfer window and just as the majority of our attacking players went back to their parent clubs.

I imagine there will be a release clause in Hope's contract. Doubt we can do anything to stop it if Blackpool want him.

Watching your ball kids, and sometimes stewards searching for balls that have rolled under cars is fairly entertaining tbf, also reminds me of playing footy in the street.

Should at least have put netting up or something, our lot put about 20 balls over the fence just during the pre match warm up.
must have been some broken windows over the years

I haven’t heard anything about a release clause. Holdsworth said (not that we should believe his bullshit) that we’ve rejected offers and will only accept an offer if it meets their valuation. With Wyke it was widely known about the release clause. Your post is the first I’ve heard about hopes

I'm just speculating. I'd imagine all players of an age where they might be worth something will have release clauses

We've confirmed the signing of Alex Gillead on a two year deal. Happy with that, got three solid wingers now.

I expect release clauses are only in place where a player signs for a club he sees as a stepping stone, or its the only way a club will get the player to sign. I expect therefore they are not the norm

Byron Moore any good?
Rearrange these two words for a description of Byron Moore

Star man every time we played Crewe and ran us ragged. Then turned into a half arsed prima Donna whilst at Vale.
In fairness he had some tragic family stuff too but his stock isn't what it was 3 or 4 years back.
Don't think I'd even want him at Vale

Stock well and truly back in the positive collum, had a very good season at Bury.

I liked him when at the Vale last time. Quite a bit of drive and capable of getting a goal. I just wonder whether his age may be catching up with him. I'd still take him as long as he is cheap.

He was out of contract and released from us. Shouldn't have thought his wages were that much.

He wanted to stay when he left us for you but you offered more cash, all be it we had just been relegated so may have lowered his offer.

He didn't feature in todays games so doesnt seem in contention at the moment.

Its a few Quiet days as we're on a jolly training week in Spain. We have been linked to Lloyd Isgrove - i.e he has started following us on social media :ffs:

Signed 18 year old left back, Noah Smerdon from Gloucester City. Due to him coming through at West Brom, they had a deal with Gloucester where they’re entitled to a fee so we have paid a small amount for him, which has been funded by our fans’ 1931 scheme.

Very talented apparently and played nearly 40 games in the NLS last season which should have toughened him up quite a bit. As Woodman and Moxey are now getting on he will probably take their place within the next year.

Yeah i remember when he signed and i thought he would be shite but he's good at holding on to the ball and giving it to the better players.. willing to get back and help out too. He's a good squad player in this league.

Byron Moore any good?

The most frustrating Academy product we've ever had after Gary Roberts. But unlike Roberts, whose misdemeanours were mainly off the field, Moore was easily the most frustrating on it.

Had a constant attitude that made him think he was better than what he was. From 2010-2012 in League Two he was absolutely fantastic despite his inconsistency. But he felt he was a Championship level player and was often poorly advised by his Agent, Clive Clarke. Two unconvincing years in League One saw us finally cut ties. On his day he's a great player, but we always said he was a poor man's Theo Walcott due to his obvious lack of consistency.

Hardly pulled up any trees at Vale and Bristol Rovers since, although Bury fans seem to talk about him in a much higher regard.

From a better perspective Dion Donohue had a good first season with Portsmouth, the second not so much due to injuries and was ultimately released. Fleetwood were really interested in him too.

Can play LB so it’s cover for Benning and adds competition in the middle although it’s hard to see him starting look at our options already.

Depends what formation JD plays. If we have 3 CMs like last season I can see him fitting in alongside Bish to allow Mellis/Khan to go further forward.

We needed a backup LB so CJ can concentrate on being a winger.

Dion Donohue is just mostly ineffectual. He's a small guy and built slim, so he'll not win any physical battles. He doesn't get up and down the pitch well. He doesn't really tackle, apart from the odd silly lunge. His first season with us was mostly a bunch of sub appearances, 2nd season he was a starter in a REALLY poor side, and didn't stand out in any way. He doesn't make loads of mistakes, but that's because he never really seems to be affecting the game. He's the kind of player you never really notice, apart from maybe when someone goes past him and you're thinking 'come on Dion you've got to stop him there'. I think we were all surprised when he got a move to Portsmouth.
He might have improved a lot since leaving us, but if he hasn't, he's a bit part player at best. Decent enough cover, but not someone who's going to make a difference.

He sounds tough then which is good but we didn't really need any more midfield steel. We already have Khan and Mellis and then we let go of Grant so really we're full in that department.
