He sounds like the type of player we’ve been missing for a while, as you say hopefully it puts to bed the rumours the spending is being cut, im hopeful also that STHS etc will increase again this season - we’d sold a lot more than previously at this time of year but had no early bird.

It’ll be a competitive league this season

There was never any doubt about the budget. JR said right from the off when appointing Dempster that he will be fully backed. The good thing with already having a decent squad is we only need 4-5 players so you can spend more on them then you would having to sign 10. Club is in a very good place.

Cook is exactly the player we missed last year with Davies being injured

Not a transfer as such but it looks like we’re finally being taken over! A guy called Tom Shutes has just passed the ‘fit and proper’ test. Doesn’t appear to be a crook which is a bonus.

Fucking delighted.

There’s been some right wrong ‘uns that have passed the fit and proper test!

Hopefully, your fella is the Ghandi of club owners.

The fit and proper test is so shite even the double account Notts County fan would pass it.

Edmundson gone to Rangers for 700k plus add ons and 20% sell on. More than happy with that.

Big rumours around here that Stoke were in for him , don't know much about him myself but a lot of EFL players seem to flourish in Scotland

So Kent has gone to Peterborough then, presumably for a similar deal to the one mentioned above for Edmunson - would expect similar figures.

Massive loss for us but good luck to Frankie as I'd expect to see him in the top two tiers in the coming years. Interestingly McAnthony has suggested a Championship club agreed a bigger fee for him yesterday, but he chose Peterborough.

That’s what I like to read! The GK positing is so important so it’s good to hear he’s a good player. 6ft 5 so a bit different to Pym...

Apparently Reading have a sell on fee so hopefully he will do the business
Lewis was 2nd goalkeeper until Montgomery had 6 of his teeth kicked out and had to take time off to recover. Lewis took his chance and by end of season had locked out Monty.
Still a very young lad but you'll not be disappointed.
Good luck to him [except when he plays FGR]

Wouldn’t believe a word that comes out of his mouth. Peterborough is a club based on liars and bullshitters

Darragh McAnthony has confirmed we're in for our old loanee from 2017 Callum Cooke from Peterborough.

Would be a huge upgrade on Shaun Miller (who has been linked with a couple of National League clubs) in that role behind the target man but sadly either the fee for a permanent transfer or the wage contribution for a season long loan seems to be the stumbling block right now. I do think we'll get Cooke in the end mind as he really did enjoy his time playing for us. I just hope a lack of game time hasn't caused him to regress since 2017.

Cooke would be a great signing. Saying that id prefer us to be looking at a back up to Porter or more cover in defence, especially if Ng is potentially leaving.

Peterborough chairman has tweeted saying we enquired about George Cooper but he isn't leaving the club.

According to Daily Mail we’re keen on Nicky Ajose along with Lincoln and Blackpool.

Would be happy with that but suspect he’d have high wage demands plus he’d surely prefer a L1 club.

Time will tell

Clearly a decent player in him but he was absolutely fucking useless for us, so it be a risky/expensive signing.

Scored 35 in 69 for Swindon.

51 in 200 for everyone else combined.

I'd have him back.

Yeah he’s lost his way so would be a gamble.

Scored 25 goals in L1 only 3 years ago but that’s a long time in football. If he wants to push his career forward a move to us could be a good one as he’d get plenty of games. Whatever happens it would seem we’re willing to pay better wages than we normally would for a forward.

He played best for us with Obika as a target/hold up man.

His problem, in this day and age, is that he won’t do any donkey work so in that aspect he is deemed lazy - which is brought more into focus if he isn’t banging in a goal every other game.

Not many sides can afford the luxury of having a player who contributes very little else other than the odd goal.

In other news, we’re signing Shamal George from Liverpool as back up keeper. Mmmmmm?

Ajose is worth a shot for someone but his wage is going to be hugely excessive I imagine for this level.

If we did get him I’d imagine he’d work well with Bowman who works his bollocks off every game and he can hold the ball as well as press constantly. Ajose is the type of player we lack but I’m still sceptical we could afford him, really.

Any chance of your lot being back in for Grant? I guess not as his loan spell seemed a little underwhelming? Critical summer for him really, at a crossroads of realising his obvious potential or fading away. On a good wage and long contract at Forest, but no chance of him forcing his way into the first team picture there I don’t think.

Heard a rumour this morning that we might be signing Mark Cullen.

Hope to god this isn’t true. I know we desperately need forwards but the guy is made of glass. In 4 months on loan here last season he was out with about 3 different injuries.

Surely we’re not stupid enough to go there again.

FGR fans, is Lewis Ward any good? You had him on loan for the end of last season. Rumour is he's joining us today.

Yes he’s quality, gutted we didn’t try and sign him. Good shot stopper tall and very calm always looks in control. Decent distribution particularly throwing were he can launch it accurately past he halfway line. A very good keeper for L2
