League One forum as Exeter walked it last year didn't they?

#Facepalm. Of course! :)

Suspect Devon lad is revising for his exams to get into secondary school.

:) I kind of miss him in a weird way. Talking of oddballs, does that nobhead of a Rotherham fan who used to fall out with everyone still post?

On the presumption that you are on the wind-up........

I'm not sure that a 22 year old footballer looking to get a foothold in the game cares too much about geography when making a potentially next move.

Perhaps he sees Swindon as a better bet than Carlisle for footballing reasons?

You're right I was mate, I'm sure Jerry must have been impressed with the manager and set up at Swindon or he would have gone back to Carlisle.
Because he has said he thoroughly enjoyed his time at Carlisle.

Cheers for the clarification, sometimes the written word can be taken completely out of context!

None of us will ever know the factors behind why players choose to sign for other clubs, there is a myriad of factors I would have thought.

I think Wellens is talking a good game and we are bringing in some decent players, long may that last! I'm personally seeing this as a one year trial for JY, if he does well then I would hope we could do a permanent deal with the Millers.

Is that the one who used to boast about his 'scuffle' encounters in a pub(s) between 'his firm' and a variety of away support that was continuously proved to be make believe?

Dan Phillips used to taunt him big time!

Fans generally seem to see the humour in it, most would 100% agree with him on the Stevenage parts last night!

He is one of the fans too bear in mind so probably gets less flack as he is a die hard Vale fan and born in the community but its just his personality really, says what he thinks.

I just thought it was a little coarse/unrefined. I realise I'm heading into snowflake territory but he can do it without the foul language and sexism. For example, Swindon's Matty Taylor in the game at our ground after being heckled gave some back to our fans two or three times but it was all very polite and humourous. I thought he was an excellent representative for Swindon that day.

Players who can respond to heckles with humour are always popular. Sometimes fans do cross a line but usually it is just heckling (nobody really know how many pies Matt Rhead ate). Bayo has always been the best that that, but he's an odd one who seems to relish it. It just prompts more anger if a player responds to a few jibes by getting bent out of shape.

Whenever I hear of players giving it back I just drift off and recall Maurice Munden. Dover keeper from yesteryear.

He had a blond perm and was always happy to back chat fans. It had to be a good put down to make him respond though. Ok Maurice, you're shit was never responded to but remarks such as "You couldn't catch a cross if you were the pope" was responded to with " You couldn't crabs on Dover seafront"!

Probably the favourite away player to ever play at Crawley.

Fee of £650,000 agreed with Rangers for George Edmundson, hopefully there's add-ons involved as well.

As well as the expected raft of foreign unknowns, rumours of Zach Clough coming in are heartening. Was very popular among my Bolton-supporting mates, but needs to get his career back on track.

That would be an unreal signing. I’d expect him to absolutely wipe the floor with this league.

You'd think, but he struggled to get a game at Rochdale last season. Strange one.

He must have seriously regressed then over the past few years then if he’d be “average” in league 2. I remember watching him for Bolton and then Forest and he looked a quality player at championship level.

Orient fans must be a bit worried with losing their best strikers? I think they will struggle this season.

I thought we’d struggle before we sold them and before Edinburgh passed away, so I’d say that we’ve got serious issues. Marvin Ekpiteta is up in front of the Old Bailey as well. Happy, happy. Hopefully the cocky twat we’ve signed from Frankenstein FC will keep us up.

In all fairness, he’s done nothing since leaving Bolton.

His record for scoring goals at Forest and then on-loan at Rochdale is nothing to shout home about - regardless of level.

He may just need some continuity; still young, with plenty of potential - like most players in the lower leagues.

A week later than expected but at least that is a striker in the building...

Any good Carlisle and Morecambe fans?

Looks a big lad so need wingers!

Pope might be the right strike partner to help him find his feet in the football league.

Don't bother with wingers though, he's useless in the air. He's never positioned right for the cross coming in and then every time he goes up for a header he fouls someone. He's got a good shot on him and is above average with the ball at his feet, but put a few defenders around him and his decision-making is very much from the non-league where strikers like him had time and space to tee themselves up. He's not a young lad though so don't think you're gonna mould him into something he isn't but if Pope can do the difficult stuff like working on his positioning and drawing defenders away, he could score a few for you.

He seems to have been signing to take pressure off Pope, i.e. give us an option when he's injured or struggling as he is older now!

Vale fans seem fairly pleased with the signing, not really sure why.

A 28 year old who's scoring record is poor and who's never played for anyone better than Morecambe or Carlisle (no offence, we're all tinpot League Two clubs :)).

Hoping he's just here to take the burden off Popey and provide a bit of competition.
