Sorry you'll have to tell me why?

We have been continually linked to Carlisle players this summer.

I actually stole this from someone on twitter that amused me. Probably doesn't translate onto this platform, or for people who don't support Carlisle or Swindon!

:)

Most of Swindon's signings will be youngsters on loan from Cambridge I suspect, what with them now being their official feeder club.

Morecombe are really going to be a lower end L2 side for eternity, always seem to do enough in the summer transfer wise despite a small budget.

CJ Hamilton is wanted by Barnsley.

Stockton was poor in return spell at Prenton Park and that was under Mellon, a manager who’d previously got the best out of him. Equally poor in his loan stint at Wrecsam. You’d like to think he’d pull his finger out for the Shrimps, but really is drinking in the last chance saloon.

Stockton was absolutely awful last season. He scored a few goals for Morecambe and ourselves (in the Conference) in 2016-17, but he has gone backwards again since then.

He seems to have an attitude problem and I can't see him pulling up any trees at The Globe if I am honest. I don't think he is League Two standard these days.

Manny Duku has left on a free and gone to Torquay (shock, horror). Never really given a chance by Mickey Duff, but he won't be missed.

What's the deal with Andy Cook at Walsall? 17 goals last year but I see he's being linked with grimsby, which is surprising, as I thought he'd stay in league 1.

We appointed Walsall's chief scout a few weeks ago which probably helped in signing Ismail, so I'd like to think we could use him to get Cook here as he's exactly the sort of forward we need.

I would be delighted if we could re-sign Cook, but I have no idea if we have made an approach. He would guarantee twenty goals next season and soften the blow of losing Norwood.

I’ve heard we’re in advanced talks with Andy Cook but you hear so much bullshit at this time of year that until he actually signs I won’t be believing it.

David Fox gone. That means we now have 3 midfielders. Conor Grant, Antoni Sarcevic and youngster Tom Purrington (younger brother of Chartlon left back Ben). Get to work Lowey.

Foxy a fantastic bloke to have around but his legs have gone now. Was pretty ineffective all season last year. More wages freed up..

Yep what Fish said. It's certainly a weird one. He's still got a year left on his contract too, so we'd need to pay a fee. I can't see it happening.

Ben still has a year left on his contract with Rotherham, he was on loan at Charlton.
They are supposed to be interested in signing him and he said he is open to going back.
Will they be willing to pay what we paid for him £300,000 we'll see?

Cook would be a great signing for us and would be a real mark of intent for us to get promoted within 2 seasons but I just can't see why he would come here over anywhere else. Some say he didn't like it here before but that could easily be down to Hurst neglecting him in favour of John-Lewis. Jolley seems to do a good job selling the club to players so if he could paint a better impression than his last spell here then who knows. He would cost us a good chunk of money, so if we are in advanced talks then it would reinforce the idea that Jolley is being decently backed.

Then again it could and is likely all bullshit. I think we could make some more great signings under the radar like Hessenthaler but I don't see us beating off any sort of competition for anyone.

James Hanson apparently willing to take a paycut to come here, according to local media. 3 years ago I’d have had him in a heartbeat, now I’m unsure.

My bad, knew there was interest, thought he had already signed. Good full back in League One but question marks on whether he is good enough for the Championship.

Ouch. He's way past it now.

Taylor has distanced us from being linked to Oxford City striker Kabongo Tschimanga as the fee involved ‘blew us out of the water’. He’s been linked with Stevenage, MK and Oxford Utd also.

Shame as he scored 36 goals last season including a hat trick at Tranmere in the FA Cup. Should be an exciting signing for someone.

Huddersfield set to sign Reece Brown apparently.

Doidge being linked with Aberdeen and MK Dons.

Cooper also said that a few of our other key players are attracting interest. Given what's happened with the stadium it will be interesting to see if our budget gets slashed. Certainly been very quiet on the signings front, as apparently we can't complete with the money being offered at this stage of the window and have had to be patient. Might have to sell first.

Is Brown still under contract?
