Fair enough, early business suggests decent wages nevertheless.

Yeah should have a bit to play with, a lot of high earners were released and we sold Van Veen and Crooks in January so I imagine we’ll have a reduced wage bill from last year.

Askey has transfer listed two un named players who are under contract... so can assume or guess on that.

Talks with two players who may be coming to sign today - assume one is Lloyd as he was apparently seen at the club recently. Uninspiring!

Centre Half signing this week apparently but no names given as yet. Would like Mugabi from Yeovil but suspect it will be a more experienced player

We’re close to signing Jack Byrne - Oldham fans, what’s he like?

Brighton and Sheff Utd want Oli McBurnie. Rumoured to be circa £12m for his services. We have a 15% sell on clause, which means we’ll receive a tidy £1.8m.
How much did you sell McBurnie for though, as that 15% will be 15% of any profit made by Swansea and not the full selling price.
We had a 20% sell on clause on Omar Bogle and Wigan sold him for 1M but as we sold him to them for 1M we got fuck all extra.

Apparently we've approached Rovrum about signing Jerry Yates

A L1 club have shown an interest in Hallam Hope, apparently.

On a permanent or loan? Rumour down our way is that we have approached to take him on loan. As he's played for you before you may be in the driving seat there (and closer geographically as well - I think)

Few little snippets I've heard about Crewe...

Were in the race to sign Harry Smith but Northampton conducted their business very efficiently.

Have identified a few CB targets. Heard Ash Taylor and Mathieu Baudry who have both been released from Northampton and MK Dons. Think the John Guthrie rumor is fans putting two and two together.

Jordan Bowery is stalling on his contract for money. Wants £2k a week but I get the feeling Crewe will tell him to jog-on and identify someone else.

David Worrall signs a new contract as another unnamed club comes in for him.

Askey also confirms interest in Ryan Lloyd... who failed to make more than a dozen apps in 6 years previously with us!

John-Joe O’Toole not taking up his extra year. Shame but time for him to go, a true Cobblers legend

Don't understand the lloyd thing myself. I'd have rather kept hannant if we are after squad players

Likes his attitude apparently. Maybe hes toughened up after a few seasons in Non League. Worry is we obsess over Macc players or ex Macc players and build a title winning National League side rather than one for League Two!

What is Luke Hannant like port vale fans?
Repeating other thoughts.
Very busy, hard worker. Not a natural winger as not enough pace.
Was a shock to see him released as virtual ever present, but as before, what did he really do ?

Not a lot really, but could never fault him for effort or attitude. Will get a good reception if he goes to another League 2 club.

How does that work?
Think he has basically told them to their faces that not part of his plans despite having time left on contracts.
Maybe out of initial respect he hasn't yet named them, can't really see why not.

I'd hazard a guess Miller is one though my own opinion is when we played the pressing type game he was way more suited than Pope.

Askey was quoted as saying he was shocked to see things he had never seen in 30 years of football. That is anyones' guess as to what it is as i'm sure he's seen pissed up players before surely.

Whatever it was my opinion which means fook all is that the players are Miller and Rawlinson who both have a year left.

Mega-talented, great to watch, has a reputation for being disruptive, left under a dark cloud.

But then again our owner antagonises just about everybody, so who knows.

Alex Iacovitti has signed permanent from Forest after a decent loan spell. Big defender who can also play a bit, best position left back. Only 21 as well.

Good to get him tied down, build a decent team around him and Pope and you have a good chance at challenging for the P\O imo.

I’d be shocked if Devitt stays in League 2. At 28 this could be his last opportunity to get a move to a higher level, be that SPL or League 1.

Going to Swindon or any team in this league is a sideward step.

I know there's not many riches up in Scotland outside the Old Firm but I highly doubt that Swindon will be matching any potential salaries that Hearts and Hibs could offer Devitt. I believe Uche Ikpeazu for instance is on £4K a week at Hearts. I doubt Swindon under Power would pay anywhere near that for Devitt...

Seeing Oldham are reported to also be interested it seems L2 would be a likely destination if he does leave.

Maybe we’re pushing the boat out a bit. I doubt it but you never know.

I’m interested in Michelle Keegan. Doesn’t mean my house is her likely destination.

We may be making cuts but I think we're still making him an improved contract offer so if he's not keen on that then I'd be surprised if Oldham or Swindon are offering hugely more than that. If he does go to another L2 club then it'll be Salford offering him silly money probably.
