Surely ‘Dick in the Bath’ followed almost immediately by ‘Club for Sale’ wins the basket case behind the scenes award?

Yeovil in a spiral, I won’t be confident until we actually get out of the relegation zone.

It's now in your hands though, with your game in hand being on current form a very much winnable one against Newport. Considering where Mansfield are and for them not to get even a shot on target after you couldn't get a clean sheet for months is impressive.

Just need to keep this going and it might not matter what the other teams do.

I think JJ is right, 2 from 5. Still think Macc will be one because they gave everyone such a head start.
If we win Tuesday, and three wins on the bounce is a pretty big if, then I think we'll have enough to get one point more than two others over thirteen games.
With the window shut the only boost you can give a team is a change of manager, Vale have done it, Yeovil still have that joker to play which might just give them a six point boost.
Definitely tightened up, all to play for .

I said the other day we could well be out of the relegation zone come Tuesday and it still looks on.

It might have been case of “After the Lord Mayor’s Show” but we’re playing the only team who had an even bigger show from their Lord Mayor than us.

I’d say it’s looking bad for Vale and Yeovil, but it can all change so quickly.

Do Yeovil still have the same owner/board that took them to The Championship not so long ago? Seems odd they've fallen so far if it is. Though I guess even when it was going well they had no money

Sounds like us!
I’ve just watched the highlights from your game on Quest though and Morecambe’s keeper was ridiculous. On another day you win that game by 3 or 4 goals.

Just the way things are going for us at the minute which is ominous, lose to Cambridge with a good goal ruled out and they score a deflection, lose to Carlisle with a double deflected own goal, lose a game like that yesterday... when things like that are going against you it just seems like it isn’t going to be your year!

Yes, they've owned the club for a long time and John Fry has been Chairman for 25 years. You're right that we didn't have any money even in the Championship but it's mainly incompetence that's got us where we are today.

I don't know your club like you do but I can't think of many clubs that haven't changed manager when things look hopeless and only a change may work.
Watford stuck with Graham Taylor a few years ago but he resigned in the summer when the Italians bought the club and it was a continuity thing. Maybe Crewe stuck with Davies but got rid in the summer
Darren Way doesn't look to be able to turn it round, if Notts win on Tuesday you hit the bottom two and then all the havering stops, the bad thing has happened and Saturday becomes judgement day. Lose again and no matter how good a bloke Way is the board can sack him with a clear conscience.
Can't believe they're just going to let it happen.

I was thinking the same the day Yeovil won at the City Ground in the play off semi final is still one of my favourite televised football moments. I feel a little giddy just thinking about it. An incredible achievement on your budget and the reason I will always be thankful to the Somerset outfit.

Thank you, now please continue to lose games to give the worlds oldest every chance of survival in the football league

Tbh every club at the bottom can write a shopping list of bad luck moments throughout the season, we certainly can.

Combine it with poor signings, awful tactical decisions and problems off the pitch and that’s the cocktail for a season long relegation battle

Thing about Yeovil... they’ve got some big results over the last couple of years.. 6-2 vs Coventry, 6-0 vs Newport and 4-0 vs Notts Co... clearly there’s a team there somewhere... why does it only appear once in a blue moon?

For sure, it’s a sign of the mess. Our problems stem over a few seasons now and that is with Norman Smurthwaite, he won’t sell, he’s involved with Nuneaton too and making money from the clubs so working well for him. The money Port Vale FC have had come in to be in this state is criminal but he is building his fleet of Tesla’s whilst we nose dive into the National league North or below.

That night in Nottingham is most Yeovil fans' favourite. It seems a lot more than 11 years ago now.

That's one of the most frustrating things. The County and Newport results were when we were playing really well at the start of the season. It was amazing how it all suddenly stopped when we had a couple of injuries. Way has no back up plan.

He's been in charge for over 3 years now and has a 27% win ratio overall. 2 home wins in 12 months. 3 wins in the last 26. Uf they were going to sack him they would've done it by now. They won't do it because they would have to pay his replacement a lot more than him, he's the cheap option and he's a yes man, regardless of what league we're in.

Been similar with us. Earlier in the season regular wins but can’t buy one now.
Can’t put finger as to why

Can Yeovil at least wait until after Saturday before changing manager? It may give us a chance of getting something.

Changing manager doesnt always work. Askey is Aspin v2.0

The only positive under Askey is we are at least now creating chances it’s the only straw we have to clutch I guess but if we can create like we did yesterday and last weekend the law of averages suggests we will get a few goals go in eventually.

Big week four points from two winnable games at home to Tranmere and away to Cheltenham would have us in a much better position heading to Notts County away.

We really don't know whether we want to be in this thread or not.
Lose at home next week to Macclesfield and we definitely will be.
Anyone else hoping we win?

We are doomed. What a depressing football club we are at this moment.

It seems Askey is the carbon copy of Aspin too. Nothing has changed since his appointment. Same players, same formation, same tactics, same subs.

If the opposition marks Pope out of the game, we have no plan B. End of.

After Saturday our next four games are:

Morecambe H
Lincoln A
Port Vale A
Macclesfield H

So we can't say it isn't in our own hands to get out of this mess (apart from Lincoln, we'll write that one off)
